“Could I inquire if Lady Meylin or anyone else in the Moon Cult has any idea of what we just faced?

I don’t believe these creatures are indigenous to this place.” There was a meaningful light in Cain’s eyes as he asked the question.

Thanks to his understanding of the Depravita Race and the effect that Depravita Essence had on life forms, he already knew what was happening.

It was really quite simple.

The monstrosities must have been some creatures that inhabited this area of the Primeval World, most likely the dominant kind.

But somehow, Depravita Essence spread into their domain and changed them.

After that, they killed everything in their territories, leaving themselves completely alone.

When Cain and the rest arrived, they attacked them as well.

The reason why Cain was feigning ignorance and asking those questions was to see if he could gather more information from the people of the Moon Cult.

He had to be careful, as the Depravita Race had a knack for infiltrating forces, so he could not be sure if the saintesses had anything to do with them.

Meylin’s eyes narrowed at his inquiry.

Had it been Helios or anyone else who asked that question, she would have simply ignored it.

But since it was Cain, she immediately acted.

The young woman glanced at the rest of the saintesses, their minds sharing telepathic information.

“We do not know what these things were or why they appeared here so suddenly.” Cain stared at Meylin for a few seconds and softly nodded.

Of course, he did not bother to ask the angels for information; even if they knew, there was no way they would share it.

So he carried on.

“Since it is clear these events will remain a mystery for the time being, I would like to see if Lady Meylin can continue where we left off before being interrupted.

We would like to learn more about the Demon King’s Castle.” There was no way Cain would have forgotten about the Demon King’s Castle, and now that the monstrosities were taken care of, it was time to resume the subject.

“I hate to agree with them, but they are right.

It is time for Lady Meylin to share your knowledge of the Demon King’s Castle.” Helios’s voice was cold and sharp, and it was clear that he had not forgotten how Meylin had not bothered to enforce the truce a few moments ago and seemed more than happy to let the dragons attack them.

“According to the information collected by our cult, we should gain access to the Demon King’s Castle in two years and twenty-nine days.

It will appear in the Endless Frost.” As soon as the angels and dragons heard that, they adopted solemn expressions.

The Endless Frost that Meylin mentioned was a zone in the Primeval World’s northernmost section, where cold and winds could freeze even the volcanoes of the Hellgaping Belt.

It was an area of incredible coldness, mostly desolate and without any valuable resources.

Because of this, it was largely unexplored, as none of the previous expeditions had bothered with it.

Yet it seemed they should have, as it held a secret that shook the entire Helix Continent.

Cain silently glanced at Eldrick, and the obsidian dragon shook his head.

The Tiamat Sect clearly had not done a thorough exploration of the Endless Frost, so they had nothing to work on to figure out the exact location of the Demon King’s Castle.

“I propose we split, embarking on this expedition of the Primeval World as we would have done if the Demon King’s Castle were not part of the equation.

When the time comes, we will reunite at the Frozen Road of the Endless Frost.

Then I will lead you all into the castle,” Meylin’s voice echoed across the sky, and the angels and dragons couldn’t help but nod at the suggestion of the young woman.

The Primeval World was full of incredible resources and wonders.

While the secrets and treasures of the Demon King’s Castle were undoubtedly the main source of their desires, that didn’t mean there weren’t other things that drew their attention.

Cain glanced at Eldrick and the rest of the Ancient Dragons, and upon seeing all of them nod, he gave Meylin an answer.

“The members of the Tiamat Sect agree with your suggestion, Sacred Saintess of the Three Moons.” “The Sun Church also agrees,” Helios declared without looking at the rest of the angels, making it seem as if he didn’t care what they had to say.

There was a sharp contrast between the leadership styles of Cain and Helios.

“Since that is settled, I will see you all in two years and twenty-nine days,” Meylin spoke to the angels and dragons before leading the saintesses of the Moon Cult away.

It did not take long for them to vanish from sight.

Tension immediately arose as the saintesses left the area, leaving the angels and dragons alone.

Helios simply gazed at Cain and the Ancient Dragons before turning around and departing with the rest of the Sun Church.

Cain couldn’t help but watch Helios’s back, feeling a part of him urging him to take down the man, but another part knew that he would not be able to achieve it-not with his current strength.

“Let’s go,” Cain’s eyes grew sharp as he uttered those words, and he left the desolate wasteland behind with the dragons.
