The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1221
Chapter 1221: First casualties (I) Chapter 1221: First casualties (I) The vitality and energy within the flesh and core of the Flesh Construct were overwhelming, nurturing Cain’s flesh, blood, and black hole.
But for him, the true prize was the immensely dense amount of Depravita Essence he was absorbing.
His True Name trembled continuously as this potent force filled every core that represented the essence of his existence, empowering him with every gulp.
The rest of the dragons watched from a distance.
Nothing physically stopped them from joining in and consuming the other parts of the Flesh Construct.
Even if the corpse was disgusting, the power it offered was tempting enough to consider.
However, the energy they felt emanating from it-the same corruptive force they had fought against-made them hesitate.
None of the Ancient Dragons believed they could consume the flesh and energy of the Flesh Construct without falling prey to its twisted essence.
This reluctance allowed Cain to consume the entire corpse without competition.
Cain, unbothered by their caution, continued devouring the Flesh Construct.
Each bite renewed his energy and stamina.
His massive form pulsed with dark power, and he felt his strength grow with every mouthful.
His flames flickered, bright and hungry, as he devoured the last piece of the towering two-hundred-thousand-meter giant.
Meanwhile, the battles of the Sun Church and Moon Cult ended shortly afterward.
The saintesses and angels successfully defeated their own Flesh Constructs, though it was clear they had expended a great deal of energy.
A sharp glint appeared in Cain’s eyes as he surveyed the two remaining corpses.
His gaze shifted toward the saintesses of the Moon Cult, and with a testing tone, he asked, “Willing to trade?” He didn’t expect much.
They were not allies, after all.
But if they refused, there would be no harm done.
To his surprise, fortune seemed to favor him.
While most of the saintesses ignored his question, Meylin turned her attention to him, curiosity gleaming in her violet eyes.
“What do you have to offer?” she asked calmly, though her interest was clear.
Cain smirked, his claw sweeping through the air as he conjured a small necklace adorned with a half-moon pendant.
“A Middle-Grade Legendary Treasure,” he explained, his voice confident.
“It enhances celestial forces, including moonforce.
While the upgrade may not be extraordinary, it’s still valuable.” Meylin examined the necklace closely, her eyes flashing with interest.
Though the treasure wasn’t equivalent in value to a Void Eclipse corpse, it was tempting enough.
After a brief moment of consideration, she nodded.
“Deal.” The other saintesses exchanged glances but said nothing.
It seemed they trusted Meylin’s judgment.

A smile spread across Cain’s face as the necklace floated toward her, and in return, he claimed the second Flesh Construct’s corpse.
Cain’s gaze then drifted toward the Sun Church.
‘Even if they hate me, they might still accept wealth in exchange for a corpse they no longer need.’ But his hopes were dashed when Helios ignited the corpse in white flames, reducing it to ashes.
Cain’s eyes narrowed as he watched the Archangel, and when their eyes met, Helios’s cold, unwavering gaze sent a clear message: he would rather see the corpse burn than allow Cain to have it.
Cain sneered at the Archangel’s petty display but chose not to escalate the situation.
Without hesitation, he focused on consuming the second Flesh Construct’s corpse while the angels and saintesses focused on recovering their strength.
The process didn’t take long.
As Cain devoured the remaining corpse, the power coursing through him intensified.
His True Name resonated with the Depravita Essence he had absorbed, further fueling his strength.
With the battle over and everyone’s strength mostly recovered, the group continued their march through the massive hall.
The oppressive aura persisted, ever-present, but no additional guards like the Flesh Constructs appeared to challenge them.
That didn’t mean they were free of danger.
The deeper they ventured, the thicker the Depravita Essence became, suffocating the air with its corruptive force.
Its weight bore down on them, testing their endurance.
Fortunately, all three groups had methods of managing the Essence.
The Ancient Dragons, in particular, found it easier to resist, thanks to the nature of their Dragon Sinful Hearts-which allowed them to handle negative emotional forces naturally.
After nearly half an hour of flight through the ominous hall, the group reached its end.
Before them loomed a massive spiral staircase descending into shadow, winding deeper into the unknown depths of the castle.
A sharp gleam flickered in the eyes of Cain, Meylin, and Helios.
This was clearly the entrance to the second level.
Logic dictated that the deeper one ventured into the castle, the greater the chances of discovering treasures.
But with treasures came life-threatening dangers.
“We should proceed with caution,” Meylin advised, her voice measured as she studied the staircase.
“Agreed,” Cain nodded, his crimson eyes narrowing.
“There’s no telling what lies below.” Helios, however, seemed impatient.
“Enough hesitation,” he said, his wings flaring slightly.
“We’ve wasted enough time already.
I’m moving ahead.” But before anyone could act, the ground beneath them trembled.
Cracks spiderwebbed across the stone before it shattered completely, revealing a writhing mass of blood-red vines surging upward from the darkness below.
The vines lashed out with terrifying speed, moving like living serpents with fluid, unnatural precision.
Each vine pulsed with dark energy, their thorny surfaces gleaming with malicious intent.
The dragons, saintesses, and angels reacted instinctively, soaring higher into the air to avoid the ground-based threat.
Elemental dragon breaths lit up the sky-flames, lightning, and ice-all directed at the sea of vines.
The saintesses unleashed arcs of moon force-infused sword energy while the angels summoned bursts of divine white flames.
Their combined attacks struck the vines head-on, erupting in a brilliant explosion of light and power.
But to their horror, the vines not only withstood the assault but tore through the attacks, bursting forth with even greater intensity.
The dragons, angels, and saintesses hovered in disbelief as the sea of blood-red vines surged toward them.
Their combined attacks-powerful enough to push back even Void Eclipse Legends-had been utterly ineffective.
The vines tore through flames, heat waves, and moonforce as if they were nothing.
The writhing tendrils were upon them in the blink of an eye, twisting and coiling with lethal intent.
