The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1223
Chapter 1223: Replica Chapter 1223: Replica A solemn expression appeared on Cain’s face as he stared into the endless expanse of mirrors surrounding them.
An unnerving feeling gripped his heart, as if something within the reflections was watching him with malicious intent.
He quickly pushed aside the unease, focus, and sharpness returning to his eyes as he turned to the Ancient Dragons beside him.
“Stay close.
Be careful with your reflections.” The two simple commands were enough to make Eldrick and the others raise their guards.
Their eyes sharpened, gazing at their reflections with cold suspicion.
The idea of someone using one’s reflection against them was not new; countless spells could achieve such a feat.
However, those were typically hollow imitations-mere shadows of the real thing.
To use that level of magic against Ancient Dragons was nearly impossible on the Helix Continent, as no one possessed such power and proficiency.
But this was the Demon King’s Castle, a place where a mutated blood vine could overwhelm ninety Stellar Abyss Legends and force them to flee.
Assumptions here could be deadly, and none dared to underestimate the dangers lurking within these walls.
Meylin exchanged a cautious glance with the saintesses.
Their swords floated around them, gleaming blades ready to attack or defend at a moment’s notice.
The atmosphere was tense, each of them keenly aware of the potential threats.
The group from the Sun Church also raised their guard.
All the angels were alert, their wings poised for swift action-except for Helios.
The young Archangel looked straight ahead, showing little concern for the rest.
It was clear that whether the other angels made it to the end was of little importance to him.
The dragons, saintesses, and angels glanced at each other before calmly moving forward.
As they progressed, annoyed expressions began to surface due to the oppressive density of the corrupting force that filled the air.
The Depravita Essence here was nearly three times more potent than what they had faced at the end of the first level.
It grew stronger with every step, forcing the saintesses to focus intently on their mantras, the angels to channel their white light more intensely, and the dragons to revolve the energy of their Dragon Sinful Hearts with greater strength.
It was still manageable, especially for the dragons, but there was no guarantee they could resist all the way to the end if things continued like this.
Cain had no problem with the Depravita Essence; the more, the merrier for him.
Yet, a frown creased his brow.
This place was truly a labyrinth.
The mirrors made it challenging to focus on the path ahead.
Countless intersections and side passages created a confusing and disorienting intricate maze.
Reflections upon reflections twisted their perception of direction, and the group found themselves second-guessing each turn.
However, navigation was the least of their troubles, as less than ten minutes into their journey, the real danger began.

Cain’s eyes narrowed as he noticed something odd about his reflections.
With mirrors in every direction, multiple images of himself stared back-most of them identical, as expected.
But then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw one reflection move independently.
Before he could react, it stepped out of the mirror and lunged straight at him!
“Watch out!” he shouted, but it was too late.
Similar scenes unfolded around them as everyone’s reflections came to life, attacking without warning.
A massive battle erupted within the labyrinthine hall.
Dragons, angels, and saintesses clashed with their replicas, the sounds of combat reverberating off the mirrored walls.
Cain’s eyes turned icy as he faced his own Replica, tapping into the power of the Eye of Gluttony to perceive its true power.
A solemn realization settled over the scarlet dragon as he sensed the creature’s energy pool and physical might-they were equal to his.
‘It has my strength,’ Cain thought, muscles tensing.
‘But does it have my skills?’ Without wasting another moment, he lunged toward the Replica.
Dark force and shockwaves enveloped his claw as he struck head-on.
The impact sent a powerful shockwave through the air, rattling the mirrors and causing the ground to tremble.
The Replica was knocked back but quickly regained its footing, snarling as it prepared to counterattack.
“His physical strength and energy are equal,” Cain assessed swiftly, “but it seems he doesn’t have access to my Legendary Innate Abilities.” Capitalizing on this advantage, Cain surged forward.
He feinted to the left before darting right, catching the Replica off-guard.
With a swift tail strike, the scarlet dragon sent the mimic crashing into the mirrored ceiling.
Shards rained down as he pinned it there, his jaws closing around its neck.
With a decisive twist, he ripped the head from the body.
The Replica dissolved into crystalline dust, the particles shimmering briefly before fusing into the mirrors.
‘They return to the source upon death,’ Cain thought, frowning, but he didn’t lose focus.
He quickly scanned the battlefield.
The others were still engaged in combat.
Eldrick grappled with his own double, their obsidian scales clashing as they exchanged blows.
“Stubborn copy!” he growled.
“Use techniques they can’t replicate!” Cain advised loudly.
Eldrick nodded, channeling his unique earth energy into his claw.
“Seismic Slam!” the obsidian dragon roared, smashing his hand down with all his strength, generating a shockwave that disrupted the Replica’s balance, allowing Eldrick to deliver a finishing blow.
Nearby, Zalgrim faced off against his mimic, lightning crackling around them.
“Let’s see how you handle this!” he challenged, unleashing a bolt of lightning infused with his wrathful energy, shattering one of the Replica’s wings.
The saintesses fought with grace and precision.
Meylin danced around her Replica, moonforce swirling around her blade.
Sensing the mimic’s limitations, she executed a complex series of movements, her sword flashing like silver light.
With a final thrust, she dispersed the Replica into dust.
The angels, though fewer in number, held their ground.
Their divine flames clashed against the dark imitations, each side striving for dominance.
Helios aided the angels, making their fight easier.
Within minutes, the battle subsided.
The last of the Replicas dissolved, leaving the group breathing heavily but with no serious injuries.
However, unease lingered.
The Replicas’ ability to fuse back into the mirrors left a chilling realization: more could appear at any moment.
