The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1224
Chapter 1224: Splitting up Chapter 1224: Splitting up Cain frowned as he gazed at the rest of the dragons, nodding to them as they raised their guards.
Together with the angels and saintesses, they continued through the endless maze of mirrors.
Attacks from Replicas came every few minutes, turning their journey into a relentless and exhausting gauntlet.
The path was not just challenging-it was mentally and physically draining.
The most troublesome part, however, was that despite their continuous movement, they had yet to find even the slightest hint of the path to the next level.
All they saw were the endless mirrors reflecting back their images from every direction.
It felt as though the labyrinth itself was playing tricks on them, trapping them in an unending loop.
Even Cain, usually composed, couldn’t help but feel a flicker of doubt.
He honestly did not know if they were truly advancing or just moving in circles.
Finally, after three grueling hours, they reached a point where the path was divided into three distinct routes.
Cain’s sharp gaze scanned the options, but with no proof of progress, he turned to Meylin and Helios.
“We should split,” he declared firmly.
His words surprised everyone.
The angels, saintesses, and even the dragons exchanged solemn glances.
The dangers of the Demon King’s Castle were immense, and splitting up could very well lead to disaster.
Sensing their hesitation, Cain’s gaze remained resolute.
“There’s no point in continuing like this.
We’ve been wandering aimlessly, fighting off Replicas that drain our energy without getting closer to our goal.
If we keep this up, we’ll eventually be exhausted and overwhelmed.” He took a deep breath before continuing.
“We need to cover more ground and stay in communication.
By splitting up, we can explore different paths simultaneously.
We’ll use each other’s locations as reference points.
If one of us finds the path to the next level, we can share it with the others.” Meylin’s eyes narrowed as she considered his words.
Even Helios, with his narcissistic demeanor, couldn’t help but nod in agreement.
Cain’s reasoning made perfect sense.
They had already faced the Replicas more than ten times.
While they could destroy them, the constant battles were wearing them down.
At this rate, they would be exhausted within a few days, and by then, they would likely meet a gruesome end at the hands of the relentless Replicas.
“Your reasoning makes sense,” Meylin admitted.
“Staying together hasn’t yielded results, and our resources are running low.” Helios crossed his arms, his gaze distant.

“Fine,” he said briefly.
“I guess your plan has its merits.” Upon seeing their acceptance, Cain retrieved two small gems from his storage dimension.
He pricked his finger, letting a drop of blood fall into each gem, imbuing them with his essence.
The scarlet dragon then handed one to Meylin and tossed the other to Helios.
“These will allow you to track my location,” he explained.
Helios and Meylin did the same.
Helios infused his gem with a stream of white fire while Meylin channeled her moonforce into hers.
They handed their gems to Cain and exchanged them with each other, completing the triangle of communication.
Cain grasped the gems, feeling the distinct energies of moonforce and divine fire.
Now, he had a rough idea of where the angels and saintesses were at any given time. Once the exchange was complete, Cain’s gaze turned cold as he glanced at the angels, distrust evident in his expression.
“Of course, the one who finds the path could try to go alone,” he added, his voice firm.
“But I doubt they’d last long.
The dangers ahead will likely be too much for a single group.” Helios’s eyes narrowed at Cain’s words.
It was clear that the scarlet dragon was telling him and the rest of the angels that if they went on their own and left the rest behind, they would all die.
Pure disdain appeared in the face of the Archangel, and they did not say a word before turning sharply to right the angels down the path.
Cain showed little concern for the angels’ disdain.
Despite their temporary alliance, the animosity between them ran deep.
He turned to Meylin, offering a respectful nod.
“Good luck.” “To you as well,” Meylin replied softly, a solemn light crossing her eyes.
She gestured to the saintesses, leading them down the path on the left.
Their figures soon disappeared into the mirrored corridor, With a deep breath, Cain turned to the Ancient Dragons.
“Let’s move,” he commanded.
Together, they ventured down the central path.
Their eyes were sharp, constantly on guard against their reflections.
The mental toll was immense, especially since they had to focus on repelling the corrupting essence that flooded the surroundings.
The Depravita Essence grew thicker with every step, pressing down on them like a suffocating fog.
The labyrinth felt endless.
Mirrors stretched in all directions, creating illusions that tested their perception.
The dragons moved cautiously, senses heightened.
Cain led the way, using the locations of the angels and saintesses to guide their choices at crossroads.
By selecting paths that diverged from the others, they hoped to maximize their exploration.
A small smile appeared on Cain’s face as he finally felt they were making progress.
They were finally truly moving forward, no longer lost in the maze of the mirror. Unfortunately for Cain and the rest of the Ancient Dragons, their moment of relief was short-lived.
Without warning, another batch of Replicas emerged from the mirrors, attacking with relentless ferocity.
“Here we go again,” Eldrick muttered, clenching his fists.
Cain’s frown deepened.
The Replicas were becoming more than a nuisance-they were a significant threat.
Without hesitation, he dashed toward his Replica, shattering its head with a powerful strike just as it emerged.
However, as the Replica burst into sparkling dust, Cain’s eyes widened.
He caught a glimpse of something else moving through the mirrors-a blur of motion, incredibly fast, even for his keen eyes.
By the time he registered its form, it had already emerged from the mirror, lunging toward him with overwhelming might.
