The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1248
Chapter 1248: Adapt, evolve, overcome (I) Chapter 1248: Adapt, evolve, overcome (I) A sense of pure thrill coursed through Cain’s soul as he finally discerned the path through the blood tentacles.
This newfound understanding didn’t mean the journey would be easy, but his eyes showed no fear or hesitation.
He dove deeper into the fifth level, confronting the blood tentacles that sought to hinder his progress.
As the scarlet dragonborn advanced, more tentacles emerged from the crimson ocean below, each larger and more aggressive than the last.
Their sinuous forms lashed out with lethal intent, aiming to ensnare and crush him.
But now, Cain could fight back effectively.
With each tentacle that surged toward him, he delivered precise blows that disrupted the flow of blood within them.
His strikes shattered them entirely, sending cascades of blood back into the ocean and making their regeneration far more difficult.
One tentacle whipped toward him from the left.
Cain pivoted smoothly, his right palm striking its side.
A subtle energy pulse flowed from his hand, severing the tentacle’s cohesion.
It dissolved into a splash of blood that rained back down.
Another tentacle lunged from above.
Cain leaped into the air, twisting as he brought his foot down upon it.
The impact disrupted its structure, causing it to collapse before it could touch him.
The battle intensified as dozens of tentacles rose to challenge him.
They attacked from all directions, forcing Cain to push his limits.
His movements became a fluid display of offense and defense.
He weaved between the tentacles with agility, each motion deliberate and controlled.
The scarlet dragonborn’s mastery over disrupting the flow of blood grew with every encounter, his understanding of the Oniric Truth of Blood deepening.
He could sense the precise points where his strikes would be most effective.
At times, the tentacles coordinated their attacks, attempting to overwhelm him.
Three surged toward him simultaneously-a pincer from the sides and one from below.
Cain’s eyes flashed with determination.
Summoning all his strength, he channeled energy into his limbs.
With swift motions, he struck the side tentacles with open palms, disrupting their flows instantly.
As the third tentacle shot upward, he vaulted over it, delivering a downward strike that caused it to disintegrate.
Despite his growing proficiency, the relentless assault began to take its toll.
Cain felt his muscles burning, his breath coming in controlled but heavy exhales.
His mind was pushed toward exhaustion, yet he refused to slow down, advancing even faster and pushing himself to the absolute limit.

Each challenge only fueled his resolve.
The Oniric Truth of Blood resonated within him, guiding his actions and sharpening his instincts.
The ocean of blood beneath the scarlet dragonborn roiled with activity, hundreds of blood tentacles rising to challenge him.
But gradually, the emergence of new tentacles slowed.
Cain noticed the change and pressed on, his strikes becoming even more precise.
Finally, after nearly ten hours of relentless fighting, he broke through.
The crimson sea grew calm, and no more blood tentacles rose to confront him.
Hovering above the tranquil ocean of blood, Cain took a moment to catch his breath.
A sense of accomplishment washed over him.
He had pushed himself harder than necessary, forcing himself to confront dozens of blood tentacles at once by the end of the battle.
But that pressure had also helped his talent and potential bloom, allowing his understanding of the Oniric Truth to rise much faster.
After a few seconds to catch his breath, Cain gazed into the distance and saw a new door obscured by the bloody fog.
It was just as massive as the Blood Gate in the Molten Crucible, but this one was completely black.
Even from afar, the scarlet dragonborn could feel the immensely dark and twisted aura emanating from it.
His eyes narrowed as he gazed at the gate-it was a power he was already familiar with.
Yet, he didn’t allow himself to become distracted; there was still much ground to cover.
Recognizing his fatigue, Cain decided not to proceed immediately.
There were several months left until the deadline, and he needed to restore his strength.
Settling into a meditative position in mid-air, he focused on bringing his body and soul back to their peak condition before moving on.
After two and a half hours, Cain opened his eyes.
A strange expression appeared on his face as he clenched his fists, feeling the surge of strength within him.
“Just two and a half hours to completely recover?
My endurance and stamina seem to have improved greatly,” he mused aloud.
Although surprised, it wasn’t hard to deduce the source of these improvements.
“Even if my understanding of the Oniric Truth of Blood barely scratches the surface of the cosmic force, I’ve already received so many benefits.
Oniric Truths are really something else.” Cain had mastered Laws and Concepts to a fairly high degree back in Aether, so it was clear to him that Oniric Truths were on a completely different level.
They offered insights and enhancements beyond what he had previously experienced.
He could not even imagine how strong someone who fully mastered one could become.
Since he was back at his peak and didn’t want to waste time, Cain resumed his journey.
It didn’t take more than fifteen minutes before the next challenge of the Sanguine Area revealed itself.
Emerging from the bloody haze were massive creatures.
Some were humanoid-towering figures with grotesque features and bulging muscles.
Others resembled beasts-colossal predators with fangs and claws that gleamed ominously.
There were even those with monstrous forms beyond conventional description, amalgamations of limbs and eyes that defied logic.
All of them locked their gazes onto Cain, their killing intent palpable, making it clear they would not allow the young man to pass unchallenged.
The Eye of Gluttony on the scarlet dragonborn’s forehead glowed as he analyzed the strength of the Blood Monsters.
A sharp light appeared in his eyes as the Eye revealed their physical might at the Late Stellar Abyss Level.
Individually, they posed no real challenge for someone like Cain, but if he had learned anything from the Demon King’s Castle, it was that things were never that simple.
