The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1266
Chapter 1266: Growing stronger by consuming Chapter 1266: Growing stronger by consuming Cain’s eyes were sharp, absolute focus emanating from them as he erased everything else from his mind, leaving only the battlefield in his sight.
The White Humanoids kept dashing forward faster until they were finally right in front of the Mutated Beasts.
It was at that point they made a change.
Instead of crashing like a white wave against a dark tide, they adopted a spear-like formation, diving right into the center of the Mutated Beasts.
From that point on, the White Humanoids began to expand and split into different units.
Employing a tactic Cain devised on countless battlefields, they initiated the “Serpent’s Divide.” The ten thousand White Humanoids were divided into five columns, each twisting and weaving through the enemy ranks like sinuous snakes.
As they penetrated deeper, each column split further into smaller units, encircling clusters of Mutated Beasts.
The logic behind this military formation was to fragment the horde, breaking the cohesion of the Mutated Beasts.
The White Humanoids isolated pockets of enemies by slicing through their ranks, making them vulnerable to concentrated attacks.
The serpentine movements created confusion among the Mutated Beasts, disrupting their ability to mount a unified defense or offense.
As the White Humanoids coiled around the enemy, they tightened their grip, much like a constrictor suffocating its prey.
This weakened the Mutated Beasts numerically, as they found themselves cut off from the rest of the pack.
Panic began to spread among the beasts as their numerical advantage was nullified.
The once overwhelming horde was now a series of disjointed skirmishes, each easily managed by the superior strength of the White Humanoids.
It was a truly wondrous sight how the White Humanoids used their superior strength to overwhelm the Mutated Beasts.
However, things soon reached a balance once the movement of the White Humanoids began to slow down due to the relentless killing.
Fatigue started to set in, and their initial momentum waned.
Cain’s eyes were cold and emotionless as he saw one White Humanoid finally manage to kill a Mutated Beast after landing several blows, only to be trampled by two others a few seconds later.
If things carried on like this, it would become a Pyrrhic victory at best.
But Cain was not worried, as the true power of the Scarlet Ember in their chests was about to act.
A White Humanoid that had just killed a Mutated Beast used its razor-sharp teeth to rip off the head.
As it consumed it, its energy exploded, and the Scarlet Ember in its chest burst with power.
Its energy and vitality returned to its peak and grew even stronger after devouring the enemy, allowing it to fight with much greater strength.
It was not alone; all other White Humanoids enjoyed the same benefits.
The Scarlet Ember worked as an energy reactor that carried the essence of the Oniric Truth of Gluttony.
As long as they killed and fed, they would not only regain their strength, washing away exhaustion, but they would also grow even stronger!
The second part of the clash became a gruesome spectacle.
Now, the White Humanoids began to grow stronger as they killed and consumed the Mutated Beasts.
With each enemy slain, they tore into flesh with frenzied fervor.
Blood sprayed across the battlefield as they ripped apart their foes, the ground slick with crimson.

The scene was gory and bloody.
The White Humanoids grew more savage and brutal the more they killed and consumed.
Their muscles bulged, and their limbs elongated, claws sharpening to lethal points.
They moved with terrifying speed and aggression, their attacks more vicious with each kill.
One White Humanoid plunged its hand into a Mutated Beast’s chest, pulling out its still-beating heart and devouring it in a single bite.
Another tore off a limb and used it as a bludgeon against surrounding enemies.
The air was filled with guttural growls and the screams of the dying.
The Mutated Beasts, once an overwhelming force, were now prey to the insatiable hunger of the White Humanoids.
As the White Humanoids fed, the Scarlet Embers in their chests flared brighter, pulsating with raw power as they grew stronger, nurturing its vessel.
Their bodies transformed, becoming more monstrous yet undeniably powerful.
The White Humanoids fought without fear or mercy, driven by the endless appetite instilled by the Ember.
Finally, after two hours of relentless fighting, the battlefield grew quiet as the last of the Mutated Beasts were taken down.
Cain showed a small smile as he saw that of the original ten thousand White Humanoids, there were still over nine thousand four hundred left.
It was an extremely good outcome, considering that at the start of the clash, both the White Humanoids and Mutated Beasts were on the same level of power.
However, Cain’s smile did not last long as he felt that the power restricting his movements was still present, meaning the trial was far from over.
As he focused on the battlefield, a solemn light appeared in his eyes and sent a signal to all White Humanoids.
Immediately, those monstrous entities acted, racing over the battlefield as they consumed the remains of the Mutated Beasts until there wasn’t even a drop of blood left.
But they did not end there.
Under the command of Cain, fifty of those White Humanoids consumed the corpses of the other five hundred White Humanoids that had perished in the battle.
Cannibalism had never been a problem for Cain.
It would definitely not become one now, especially since those creatures did not really have a soul or spirit and were not much different from puppets.
This act was a necessary step in embodying the ultimate essence of gluttony-to consume all without discrimination, leaving nothing behind.
The Scarlet Embers within the White Humanoids pulsated in unison, and a surge of power resonated back to him.
As the White Humanoids grew stronger and nurtured the Scarlet Embers, Cain realized with a wide smile how his understanding of the Oniric Truth of Gluttony was growing deeper.
