The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1268
Chapter 1268: Change in tactics (I) Chapter 1268: Change in tactics (I) With synchronized movements, the Level 20 White Humanoids sent blasts of fireballs toward the center of the enemy ranks.
The fiery orbs streaked through the sky like meteors, leaving trails of incandescent light.
Upon impact, they erupted into colossal firestorms, generating openings so the rest of the White Humanoids could pierce through.
The explosions created walls of flame that cut deep into the enemy lines.
Black Humanoids were engulfed, their forms disappearing within the inferno.
The heat was so intense it warped the very air, causing mirage-like distortions. Seizing the opportunity, the remaining White Humanoids surged forward through the gaps with relentless ferocity.
Their movements were swift and coordinated, with no sense of hesitation or fear at all, a stark contrast to the disoriented Black Humanoids who struggled to regroup.
The Scarlet Flames in their chests pulsed rhythmically, fueling their strength as they killed and consumed their enemies, growing stronger.
The battlefield became a maelstrom of fire and fury.
As the White Humanoids pushed deeper into the enemy ranks, Cain remained vigilant, his eyes tracking every movement.
Though exhausted from channeling so much energy, his mind was sharp, orchestrating the battle with precision.
He could feel the flow of the conflict, adjusting his tactics in response to the shifting tides.
The Black Humanoids attempted to rally, and small units formed defensive positions, trying to stem the advance of the White Humanoids.
While the Black Humanoids managed to take down some White Humanoids, the momentum was against them.
The initial shock of the explosions had sown too much confusion and left too many wounds, while the White Humanoids were growing stronger with each kill.
The battle was brutal, death spreading everywhere, until finally, there were no more Black Humanoids alive.
Cain showed a small smile as he saw that there were still over eight thousand five hundred White Humanoids standing.
He sent the signal for them to start consuming.
It did not take more than thirty minutes before there was not a single corpse left on the battlefield-all of them consumed by the White Humanoids.
“BOOM.
BOOM.
BOOM” Several explosions of energy echoed across the battlefield as the fifty top-tier White Humanoids that were designated to consume the corpses of their own kind managed to break through, and their energy levels rose to Level 21! Cain’s Eye of Gluttony focused on these Legendary White Humanoids.
While they unleashed no soul force or unique abilities, the scarlet flames they could now release reached the might of a Legendary Spell!
If that was not enough, consuming the one hundred thousand Black Humanoids allowed his eight thousand five hundred White Humanoids to rise to Level 20.
They gained the ability to fly and could shoot fireballs of scarlet fire.
However, the restrictive force continued constricting his movement, signaling that the trial was far from over.
He summoned the White Humanoids back and began to nurture them with his scarlet fire.
Confidence rose inside Cain’s heart.
Even if the army that came next was one million strong, he felt he would be able to overwhelm it thanks to the power of his enhanced White Humanoids.
Unfortunately for Cain, the Demon King Castle was never that predictable, and he was not so lucky.

Cain had barely started to feed the White Humanoids his flames when, far into the distance, the ground shattered to pieces, and a massive creature arose.
The eyes of the scarlet dragon widened as he beheld a colossal monstrosity-a creature one hundred thousand meters tall.
It was utterly black, its skin like polished obsidian that reflected no light.
The creature had no eyes, only smooth planes where they should have been, giving it an eerie, sightless gaze.
Jagged, demonic spikes that pierced the sky like dark spires sprouted from its back.
Its most terrifying feature was a massive maw that stretched across where its face should be, filled with rows upon rows of razor-sharp teeth that gleamed with a metallic sheen.
The mouth seemed to grin perpetually, depicting a sinister smile.
Wisps of shadowy smoke emanated from between its teeth, and a deep, guttural growl resonated from within, echoing across the grotto.
It was a behemoth in every sense of the word-a demonic titan.
A deep frown appeared on Cain’s face as he witnessed the might of that creature, especially after the Eye of Gluttony revealed that the obsidian skin possessed overwhelmingly high defenses.
“THUMP!
THUMP!” The massive Black Monster began to step forward, each step generating a gigantic shockwave that rippled through the ground.
Its movements were slow and deliberate, and it did not seem to be in any hurry.
The very air vibrated with the weight of its presence, and the ground cracked under its immense weight.
Cain’s eyes narrowed as he sent a signal.
All fifty Level 21 White Humanoids rose into the air, raising their hands toward the ceiling before unleashing massive fireballs that arced toward the Black Monster.
The orbs of scarlet flame soared through the air, leaving trails of fiery light in their wake.
The Black Monster noticed the incoming fireballs but did nothing to shield itself nor did it accelerate its pace.
It allowed all of them to connect point-blank.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!” A massive explosion of scarlet flames erupted as the fireballs landed simultaneously, fire spreading everywhere and covering the colossal frame of the Black Monster.
The intense heat warped the surrounding air, and the brilliance of the flames illuminated the grotto, casting long, flickering shadows.
Yet, before Cain could even feel hopeful, the flames dispersed, revealing the Black Monster still marching forward-unharmed.
Not a single wound marred its obsidian skin.
The creature’s maw seemed to widen as if mocking the futility of the attack.
“Ahhh, as expected.
Its defenses are so high that they can endure Dark Seed Legendary Tier attacks, making numbers useless against such a thing,” Cain sighed, understanding the type of enemy he was facing.
He gazed at the White Humanoids beneath him.
No military tactic would work against an opponent whose skin could endure any type of attack he sent.
