Chapter 1290: Welcome to the Neo-Demon Race!
“I WILL KILL YOU!” Helios glanced over as he heard the shout, only to see the violet sword shards coming at him with more energy than ever before.
His eyes narrowed as he sensed the raging energy inside them.
He could feel how Meylin had infused her life force in them to make them stronger. Noticing the despair and rage fueling the attack only made the seven-winged Archangel’s smile grow wider.
With a swift motion, he pulled his sword from Cain’s lifeless head and flew to the side, dodging the assault.
Meylin’s eyes were bloodshot, tears mingling with the blood that leaked from them.
The pain, agony, and rage in her soul had reached an extreme.
She had no idea what a Dreamwalker was, and for her, Cain’s death here only meant one thing-that she would never see him again.
She was ready to make the one who took him away pay, even if it cost her life.
“Three Moons Force!” The Sacred Saintess of the Three Moons shouted, blood dripping from her eyes as her violet sword shards began to glow with golden and silver light. The shards moved even faster now, attacking from all directions like a swarm of enraged spirits.
But Helios simply waved his radiant sword, generating arcs of white flames that countered the attacks effortlessly.
“Hahaha, I am impressed by your attacks, but you are just a shooting star whose light will soon fade while I am the sun!” Helios shouted with glee before pointing his left palm toward Meylin and shooting a cannon of white flames.
Meylin’s fury did not weaken her battle awareness.
Immediately, she used a portion of the sword shards to block the cannon of flames, directing the rest into the ceiling and ground, attacking Helios from above and beneath.
The hall trembled as the shards pierced through stone, causing debris to rain down on the battlefield.
Helios maneuvered with ease, his movements fluid and unhurried.
He deflected the shards coming from below with a swift kick while his radiant sword sliced through those descending from above.
Despite the intensity of Meylin’s assault, he seemed untouchable.
His eyes gleamed with amusement as he watched her relentless efforts.
“Your persistence is futile,” he taunted, sidestepping another barrage of shards.
Meylin gritted her teeth, her energy waning.
She was burning her life force, pushing herself beyond her limits.
Each attack drained her further, but she refused to stop.
Summoning every ounce of strength, she condensed her remaining shards into a massive blade of light and hurled it toward Helios.
The Archangel’s eyes widened slightly at the sight of the colossal blade.
With a flicker of annoyance, he raised his radiant sword, clashing it against the incoming attack.
The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the hall, cracking spiderwebbing across the walls and floor.
“Impressive, but still not enough,” Helios sneered, pushing back against the blade.
With a surge of power, he shattered it into fragments that scattered like fading stars.

Meylin staggered, her vision blurring.
Her body screamed in agony, but her resolve remained unbroken.
She focused her gaze on Helios, determination blazing in her eyes.
Helios chuckled softly.
“Such fiery spirit.
It’s almost a shame to extinguish it.” He launched himself toward her, closing the distance in an instant.
Meylin barely managed to raise a barrier of light before he struck.
His radiant sword collided with her shield, sparks flying upon impact.
The force of the blow sent her skidding backward, her feet digging trenches into the stone floor.
As the fight between the Sacred Saintess of the Three Moons and the Incarnation of the Sun Lord raged on, something was happening within Cain’s body.
His black hole-the amalgamation of his soul force and energy pool-had frozen, no longer moving, and showing signs of dissipation due to the overwhelming damage to the hearts and brain of the scarlet dragon.
Inside the black hole, Cain’s True Name was starting to phase out, showing signs of its imminent exit from the Crimson World due to his death, as there was nothing holding him to this universe.
However, just as Cain’s True Name was about to leave, something happened within his chest, around his hearts.
His original heart and Fire Heart were destroyed, and even the Dragon Sinful Heart-the sacred organ that allowed him access to the Tiamat Dragon Path-was crippled.
Yet, there was something that even the mighty flames of Helios’s spear could not harm, something that went beyond the power of the Sun Lord: a small obsidian orb that glowed with dark purple runes.
It was the orb that Cain had seen in the Millennium Auction House, the one he lost to a member of the Arken House, whom he later killed and reclaimed the orb from.
The obsidian orb had fused with his heart shortly after Cain touched it with his soul force, but after that, it remained inside his heart and did nothing-until now.
The purple runes inside the obsidian orb began to rearrange themselves as their power began to rise.
Before long, a robotic voice emerged from it.
“Vessel has perished.
First condition completed.” That voice was something no one could hear.
The next second, the obsidian orb began to spin faster and faster as pictures appeared on its surface. The pictures showed a young orphan going through hardships in school, showing him killing a fellow student, joining a military academy, making friends and comrades, fighting against beasts and men, losing his first love, rising even stronger, joining a civil war on an island surrounded by a bloody ocean, being joined by a lover, visiting a massive glass city, going crazy with rage and fighting a bloody dragon before escaping into a new continent.
The scenes moved faster and faster, each a key moment in Cain’s life where he made decisions that determined the kind of man he became.
Memories of pain, loss, triumph, and love flashed by in an instant, painting a vivid tapestry of his existence.
Finally, as the last scene appeared, the orb stopped revolving, and silence reigned for a few seconds before the robotic voice echoed once more.
“Life test completed.
Vessel is considered worthy according to the Patriarch’s standards.” Everything grew quiet for a moment before the obsidian orb burst with immense power as purple flames emerged from it, covering every inch of the scarlet dragon’s body. The next second, Cain’s eyes, which had lost their light, glowed once more.
The scarlet dragon took a huge breath, shock, and confusion filling his mind.
He didn’t understand what was happening, only that a surge of energy was coursing through him, mending his broken body and reigniting his soul force.
Before Cain could understand what was happening, a familiar echo resonated in his mind, one he had heard many times in the Samsara Arsenal Module. “Welcome to the Neo-Demon Race!”
