Chapter 1314: Transforming into an angel Chapter 1314: Transforming into an angel Cain could hear the whispers of disgust and see the looks of disdain in the dragons and Saintesses around him, but his face remained impassive.

The Power of Order coursed through him, allowing him to keep a clear head and preventing anything from distracting his mind and soul as he searched for a way through their current predicament.

“Can we force our way in?” Grand Elder Kryos voiced the question on everyone’s mind.

They couldn’t possibly wait half a century for the Sun Church to run out of sacrifices to restart the war.

Even if they ignored the ongoing massacre within, by that time, the Sun Church would have recovered their lost power entirely and might have several trump cards in place, which would inevitably translate into casualties for the dragons and saintesses.

Grand Elder Bahamut gazed at the Divine Shield enveloping the Blazing Wastes.

He sent a wisp of his spirit force to survey the terrain, but it was immediately incinerated upon contact with the radiant barrier, making the Immortal Dragon frown deeply.

As the dragon and saltiness try to figure out how to pass through the Divine Shield, a meaningful light appears in Cain’s eyes.

He threw a significant glance toward Grand Elder Bahamut.

The Immortal Dragon’s eyes narrowed as he noticed the look from the dark dragon.

Understanding passed silently between them.

Bahamut softly nodded before shouting, “Establish a perimeter around the Blazing Wastes!

No one must enter or leave it!” The Grand Elders and Ancient Dragons all nodded as they heard Bahamut’s command.

Without hesitation, they began to fly around the Divine Shield, their immense forms casting shadows over the desolate landscape below.

Lady Alune turned her gaze toward the Void Eclipse Saintesses and gave a sharp nod, indicating they should do the same.  Of course, fewer than one hundred dragons and saintesses were far from enough to establish a proper perimeter around such a massive place as the Blazing Wastes.

But it was just a matter of days before reinforcements from the Tiamat Sect and Moon Cult would reach this place, adding hundreds of Stellar Abyss Legends and thousands of Dark Seed Legends to their forces.

After the dragons and saintesses spread across the perimeter of the Divine Shield, only Bahamut, Lady Alune, Cain, and Meylin were left standing together.  All eyes focused on the dark dragon as he began to speak in a voice only the trio could hear.

“Right now, the Sun Lord should be unable to send his soul force and consciousness into the Helix Continent.

If we want to win this war, it must be now.” Bahamut and Alune’s eyes widened as they heard those words.

They exchanged glances, unable to hide their surprise.

They couldn’t help but look at the young man with an inquisitive gaze, trying to figure out how he could know such a thing.

Meylin remained silent but not surprised.

She already knew all of this-after all, she had been there when the Demon King had forcefully extracted and devoured the Sun Lord’s incarnation, keeping a fragment of the Prima Deity’s soul to cast a curse.  Grand Elder Bahamut opened his mouth, about to ask for details, but he stopped himself.

It was clear that something like this entailed deep secrets, and now was not the time to delve into them.

He focused on what was important.

“You are right.

It is now or never.

However, how are we going to hinder this formation?

With it in place, other than the four of us, no one else can enter the Blazing Wastes.” “That is right, which is why we must deactivate it,” Cain responded, a cold and scheming light appearing in his eyes as he uttered those words.

Lady Alune raised an eyebrow.

“Deactivate the Divine Shield?

We are having a hard time just entering it.” Cain looked around cautiously, ensuring no one was watching them too closely.

The next second, his figure began to change.

His dark scales receded, his imposing draconic form shrinking and reshaping.

In moments, he transformed into a young man with golden hair and radiant eyes.

But that was not all-five radiant wings emerged from his back, their luminescence mirroring that of the angels.

Bahamut, Alune, and even Meylin were startled to see how Cain had transformed into an angel.

It wasn’t just his outward appearance; even his aura and soul radiations were those that one could only see in members of the Sun Church who followed the Archangel Path.

“The transformation…” Lady Alune whispered, clearly impressed.

The transformation was not easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.

Cain had consumed one of the five-winged angels a few hours earlier.

He copied the man’s life force and body to a flawless level using the Oniric Truth of Blood and his Blood Sovereign Crown.

Of course, the more challenging part was replicating the spirit, as the souls of angels carried the unique aura of the Sun Lord’s soul force.

But Cain mimicked that as well by utilizing his Oniric Truth of Dominion and the soul force he had assimilated from Helios.

Unless someone were to forcefully inspect his soul, not even Archangel Michael could tell he was an impostor.

“I will head into the Blazing Wastes and deactivate the formation,” Cain declared, his voice steady and resolute.

“All the power from the Tiamat Sect and Moon Cult must be ready to attack once that happens.” Bahamut’s eyes narrowed.

“Are you certain about this?

You’ll be in incredible danger.” Cain met his gaze without flinching.

“I am aware of the risks, but it’s the only way.” Meylin stepped forward, concern evident in her eyes.

“You need to be careful.” She had finally reunited with Cain and did not want to part ways so soon.  Cain smiled at the young woman as he nodded before turning his eyes to the leaders of the Tiamat Sect and Moon Cult.

Grand Elder Bahamut and Lady Alune gave the young man a profound nod, understanding that they would have only one chance.

“We will have our forces ready,” Bahamut promised.

“The moment the shield falls, we will strike.”
