The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1317
Chapter 1317: Breaking the formation Chapter 1317: Breaking the formation Unfortunately for the Archangels of the Sun Church, the time they expected to have to improve their troops and fill the Blazing Wastes with traps and powerful destructive weapons was reduced from four decades to four minutes.
Without warning, the entire Sun Castle began to tremble violently.
The tremors were not limited to the castle; they extended across the whole Blazing Wastes.
Walls shook, pillars cracked, and the very ground seemed to groan under an unseen force.
Archangel Michael could not help but frown as he felt the unsettling vibrations.
Confusion assaulted his mind for a second, his thoughts racing to understand the cause.
Suddenly, shock and horror appeared in his eyes as he looked up, only to see the massive radiant sun covering the Blazing Wastes begin to shake and phase out.
“The Divine Shield!” he gasped.
Michael was the first to notice, but all the other Archangels soon saw it.
The horror in their eyes was immense.
The Divine Shield-a formation that could be considered a Third Realm power-was failing.
Now that it was shutting down, it would take them days, if not weeks, before they could put it in place once more.
There was no way their enemies would simply allow them that time.
Archangel Michael could not understand how someone could have turned off the Divine Shield without anyone noticing since the only ones with the knowledge and authorization were present in the room.
“WHO DARES!” Michael’s confusion turned into seething anger, and it exploded as he shouted, unleashing the full force of his soul across the Sun Castle.
His aura surged like a tidal wave, rattling the very foundations of the fortress.
He extended his perception outward, scanning every corner of the castle with relentless intensity.
In an instant, the Formation Hall appeared in his mind’s eye, and he saw complete destruction.
The mechanisms that maintained the Divine Shield were in ruins-runes shattered, energy conduits severed, and control crystals reduced to dust.
“The one who turned off the Divine Shield laid waste to everything else,” Michael realized, fury boiling within him.
“They suppressed hundreds of formations spread across the Blazing Wastes and many around the Sun Castle.” The Archangel clenched his fists in rage and frustration but did not lose focus.
He knew the culprit could not be far.
At first, the only things he saw were angels in a state of shock and confusion, all of them looking around or running aimlessly, as one would expect upon seeing that their defensive formation was gone.
However, soon Michael’s eyes focused on a particular angel.
Other than the fact that he covered his face, there was nothing overtly suspicious about him.
But then Michael felt it-a wisp of energy, an aura that had severely harmed his body just a few days ago.
“YOU!” Archangel Michael’s instincts and perception were truly something else.
He was able to detect the lingering traces of destructive energy around the angel’s body and recognized it as none other than the dark dragon who had started all this mayhem in the Howling Abyss.
Allowing his rage to go wild, Michael’s energy exploded as he blasted through the room floor, shattering walls and ceilings in his path.
Debris rained down as he hurtled straight toward the man he wanted to flay alive.

Meanwhile, Cain was moving swiftly through the passages of the Sun Castle after taking down the Divine Shield, trying to make his way out when he noticed the overwhelming killing intent targeting him and the overpowering aura closing in rapidly.
“Damn it!” Cain couldn’t help but curse as realization dawned on him.
He did not know how, but they had found out his identity.
“I won’t be able to make it out in time,” he thought urgently.
The Neo-Demon knew it would be a matter of minutes before the forces of the Tiamat Sect and Moon Cult arrived at the castle, but Michael would reach him much faster than that.
If he were caught in a fight inside the Sun Castle, it would likely be his end.
Cain’s eyes glowed with a meaningful light as he made a swift decision.
He turned around, no longer heading toward the exit but instead dashing at full speed toward the heart of the Sun Castle.
The rest of the angels were still in a state of shock upon seeing the Divine Shield shut down, so they barely registered the shocking speed at which a random five-winged angel moved or the crushing aura that was diving toward him.
Cain raced through the ornate corridors, his footsteps echoing against the marble floors.
Golden statues and intricate tapestries blurred past as he pushed his speed to the limit.
After almost thirty seconds, Cain’s eyes lit up as he saw a grand gate adorned with the emblem of the white sun just a few thousand meters ahead.
Relief flickered within him; if he could reach that chamber, he might have a chance.
But not even a second later, the ceiling above his head shattered.
A figure with radiant wings and overwhelming killing intent descended to the ground, landing with such force that the floor cracked beneath him.
His eyes blazed with murderous intent as he raised a radiant white spear.
“Die, you piece of shit!” Michael shouted, his voice echoing with wrath.
He hurled his spear forward, the weapon slicing through the air like a comet.
The walls and ceiling ignited, set ablaze by the overwhelming power behind the attack.
Cain’s eyes widened as he felt the spear coming at him, the sheer force threatening to tear him apart.
Immediately, he transformed back into his dark dragon form, his massive wings unfurling, scales glistening with dark energy.
He pointed his right hand forward, channeling every ounce of power he had left.
“Apocalypse Blast!” he roared.
A beam of super-compressed chaotic energy and Neo-Demon Aura burst from his hand, surging forward to meet the radiant flaming spear.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!” A massive explosion erupted inside the Sun Castle.
The collision of their attacks unleashed a shockwave that tore through the structure.
The halls and passages flooded with scorching white flames and dark purple energy, consuming all the angels unlucky enough to be near it.
Walls crumbled, and the ground shook violently.
