The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1329
Chapter 1329: Confronting Lady Alume (II) Chapter 1329: Confronting Lady Alume (II) Cain’s eyes grew sharp as he observed the calmness exuded by the Sacred Saintess, Lady Alune.
The atmosphere was tense, but she stood before him with an air of serenity that was almost disconcerting.
The next second, the golden light of The Flow appeared in his eyes, the full power of the ability bursting and focusing solely on the women.
Since Lady Alune’s willpower was not as corrupted and weakened as Michael’s had been, he could not read her mind.
However, The Flow would allow him to sense the emotions and intent in the woman’s heart and soul, making it virtually impossible for her to deceive him.
In a blink, Lady Alune appeared before Cain, a radiant smile gracing her face as she spoke in a peaceful voice.
“For what reason do you summon me, Lord Laurifer?” she asked, her tone gentle yet inquisitive.
“She is not faking it,” Cain thought to himself.
He could see that the peace and tranquility on her face were genuine; there was no trickery or deceit.
She was indeed completely calm, without a single worry in her heart, as if she knew everything would be fine regardless of the circumstances.
Before uttering a word, Cain glanced at Meylin and Bahamut.
A meaningful light flickered in his eyes-a silent signal that the duo immediately deciphered. The Immortal Dragon Bahamut was a little surprised to see the intent in Cain’s gaze, and even more so as he watched Meylin immediately position herself behind Lady Alune, sword in hand and ready to act.
Bahamut could see that if Cain were to give the signal, Meylin would not hesitate to strike the leader of her own cult.
Although he was still confused by the turn of events, Bahamut trusted the dark dragon.
He moved to flank the Sacred Saintess, cutting off any escape route.
Lady Alune noticed their movements but remained unfazed.
Her serene expression didn’t waver.
It was only when there was no way for her to escape that Cain finally spoke.
“Why did you lie regarding the Demon King’s Castle prophecy?” Cain asked directly.
The dark dragon did not beat around the bush; instead, he went straight to the core of the problem-the prophecy and how, according to it, he was supposed to perish inside the Demon King’s Castle.
It didn’t matter to Cain that he had managed to survive and come out stronger; the woman had used him as a pawn in her games to make the Moon Cult stronger.
He would not allow that, especially since soon, massive wars would arise as they attempted to unify the nine continents of the Crimson World’s First Realm.
Lady Alune’s sharp eyes met his, and she remained silent for a few seconds before turning around and gazing at Meylin.
“Could you share with me what piece of the prophecy you managed to discover?” she asked calmly.
Meylin couldn’t help but feel a surge of nervousness under the calm gaze of the woman who had been her leader.
Even after her evolution into a Prima Depravita, she had to admit that Lady Alune was not a threat she could handle on her own-not only in terms of battle power but also wits.
She glanced at Cain, and after seeing him nod, she spoke.
“As they enter the domain of darkness, the child of the sun will close his eyes, the dragon from a distant land will fall, and the daughter of the moon will weep,” Meylin recited, her voice steady despite the tension.
Lady Alune smiled wider as she nodded to Meylin.
“I am impressed.

I made sure to hide that piece of the puzzle very well, yet you uncovered it.
No wonder you were selected by the Three Sacred Moons to travel among the universes,” she remarked.
Meylin’s eyes narrowed as she heard those words.
The mention of the Three Sacred Moons and traveling among universes was unexpected.
But Lady Alune did not elaborate further and instead turned back toward Cain.
“If that is all you heard from the prophecy, you will definitely think I was trying to cripple the sect and the church while accepting a wound for the cult,” Lady Alune began.
“But there is more to it.
Do you care to hear me out?” Cain gazed at the woman, the power of The Flow bursting through his eyes as he made sure to perceive beyond any form of deception.
He could sense that she was being sincere.
After a brief pause, he nodded, indicating for Lady Alune to carry on.
Lady Alune took a deep breath before uttering the following words: “When death falls upon the chosen from another world, the heir of the abyssal heritage will rise, and the Helix Continent will be covered in darkness as he swallows the sun.” Cain’s eyes widened as he heard those words.
The second part of the prophecy seemed to entail his resurrection as a Neo-Demon and the fall of the Sun Church.
Of course, there was a chance that Lady Alune was making up those words to save herself, but Cain could clearly feel through The Flow that there were no lies.
She was telling the truth.
Silence reigned for a few seconds as the Neo-Demon attempted to get his head straight since there was a lot of new information he needed to consider.
Finally, he spoke a single word.
“Why?” Cain wanted to understand why she had gone through all this trouble.
Why fabricate a prophecy that entailed all parties marching into the Demon King’s Castle together?
And why would the Moon Cult want the fall of the Sun Church?
Lady Alune glanced at Cain for a moment, and a solemn expression replaced the smile on her face.
“There is a war brewing in the higher levels of this tower we call the universe.
One so powerful and destructive that even small skirmishes would make the clash we had with the Sun Church look like a children’s game, billions of lives ending in a second.”
