The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1374
Chapter 1374: Gu Sect (IV) Chapter 1374: Gu Sect (IV) The one who moved forward was a member of the Atrox Immortus Race.
The man’s armor was tattered, clearly marking him as someone who struggled at the lowest rungs of the Gu Sect’s hierarchy.
His boldness drew sharp glares from those around, the rest of the members of the Dark Races clearly displeased at seeing one of their own assist a member of the Godslayer Human Race.
Cain’s eyes sharpened the instant he felt the aura of the Atrox Immortus.
He gauged the man’s cultivation level quickly, determining that he was only a Late Divine Ascension Master.
Not particularly strong by the sect’s standards.
Still, Cain nodded and indicated for the man to approach. A hush fell over the surrounding crowd as the Atrox stepped forward.
Many of the onlookers sent sharp glares at him, unhappy and resentful.
Still, the Atrox pushed on, soon standing directly before Cain, and offered a small nod.
“I am Mario,” the man introduced himself.
“I have lived in the Gu Sect for the last one thousand years.
Although I am only an Outer Disciple, I have a good understanding of the sect and its important locations.” Cain gazed at Mario, and for a fleeting instant, his eyes glowed with the subtle power of The Flow.
He detected some trace of bias and animosity within Mario’s heart-likely the ingrained prejudice of the Dark Races toward the Godslayer Human Race.
Yet it was faint, merely a bias rather than outright hatred.
Unlike the old Hell Clan member who had shown Cain open contempt, Mario seemed willing to set aside whatever animosity he held, at least for the sake of profit and survival.
“Bring me to the Gu Armory,” Cain said calmly, wasting no time.
His goal was clear, and he intended to make good use of the resources available to him as an Outer Elder.
Mario nodded as he heard Cain’s request.
Without hesitation, the duo began walking deeper into the massive city that formed the Gu Sect’s outer areas.
“This is the outer ring,” Mario explained as they advanced.
“The place where Outer and Inner Disciples of the Gu Sect live.” Cain took in the surroundings, his eyes glinting with careful scrutiny.
Even this outer ring, presumably less guarded and less prestigious than the sect’s inner domains, was truly impressive.
Walls and buildings rose high, constructed from strange materials that Cain suspected he could not shatter easily, even if he repeatedly attacked with all his might.
The structures exuded a sense of permanence and power, reflecting the sect’s ancient heritage and unyielding might.
As they continued, Mario suddenly proposed a change in their mode of travel.
“If we want to reach the Gu Armory, it would be easier to fly,” he said, casting a cautious glance at Cain.
“Normally, disciples cannot do it, but since you are an Outer Elder, you have the right.
And so do I, as long as I follow you.” Cain nodded, indicating his assent.
With a slight push of power, Cain rose into the air, and Mario followed suit.
Their flight allowed them to bypass congested streets and gave Cain a better view of the city’s vastness.

The Gu Sect was gargantuan.
Even with their swift movement, it felt as though they were skimming the surface of a boundless metropolis.
Below them, thousands of figures moved through the streets.
All of them belonged to the Dark Races, their features grim and their eyes constantly darting with suspicion or hostility.
Cain could feel their animosity drifting upward like a palpable haze.
Seeing a Godslayer Human and a member of the Dark Races traveling side by side was enough to provoke scornful looks and muttered curses.
Their resentment extended to Mario.
Cain noticed all this, though he did not let it trouble him.
Curiosity stirred within his mind.
His eyes glowed as he considered the evident segregation and tension.
He reached out mentally, projecting his words directly into Mario’s mind to avoid drawing attention.
“Why were there only members of the Dark Races at the northern gate and in this area?” Cain asked through mental speech, ensuring no one else could overhear.
“I had been led to believe that all Six Sacred Races live inside the Gu Sect.” Mario’s eyes narrowed at the question, his reluctance clear.
Yet the promise of Spirit Cores and the presence of a formidable Outer Elder were powerful incentives.
He sighed, resigning himself to honesty.
“I don’t know exactly what is happening,” Mario replied quietly.
“But lately, all the light races have been gathering their forces in the south while the dark races gather in the north.
It seems like they are preparing for something, but what exactly is above my pay grade.” Cain’s eyes narrowed as he nodded.
He could sense that Mario spoke truthfully, at least as far as his knowledge extended.
The Gu Sect was colossal, and the machinations of its top-tier members and leadership would not be common knowledge among Outer Disciples.
Still, this information was valuable.
Cain had arrived at a very special moment-tensions were brewing, lines drawn, and forces mustering for some future clash.
A small smile rose on Cain’s face as he considered the implications.
The thrill and excitement he felt earlier were only magnified.
He already began to form potential plans in his mind, pondering how to profit from this imminent strife.
Uncertainty often created opportunities for those with ambition and cunning.
The rest of the journey was silent.
They flew steadily, passing over countless streets and towering buildings.
Eventually, they approached a new set of walls that made the outer barriers look mundane by comparison.
These inner walls were covered in complex runes and magical matrices that radiated immense power.
Even Cain, with all his confidence and strength, felt a sliver of awe at their might.
He doubted he could endure a fraction of the power sealed within these defenses. Descending to the entrance, Cain and Mario confronted two massive figures that stood guard.
They were insectoid creatures, winged and towering hundreds of meters tall.
Their forms were majestic and frightening, brimming with energy that made the air vibrate.
Just setting eyes on these guardians revealed their nature as living weapons, likely capable of unleashing destruction upon any who dared defy them.
As Cain and Mario stepped forward, the eyes of one guardian glowed.
A voice, deep and resonant, emerged: “Outer Elder Cain Laruifer.
You have the right to enter the Inner Ring of the Gu Sect.
Is the Outer Disciple your companion?” “Yes, he is,” Cain replied calmly.
He did not seem bothered by acknowledging Mario as a companion.
Doing so was no small thing, judging by the surprise on Mario’s face.
“Then you two may enter,” the insectoid guardian declared, wasting no time.
Its massive form remained still, but the gates to the Inner Ring opened without a sound, granting the duo passage.
The doors parted like the jaws of a titanic beast, revealing the Inner Ring beyond.
As soon as they stepped inside, Cain’s eyes widened.
He felt a surge of pure, intense energy flooding the air, so concentrated and vibrant that his Sacred Organs responded immediately.
Training here would yield twice the results with half the effort.
The concentration of spiritual power alone justified the Gu Sect’s reputation and status as a Lord Tier Organization.
