The buildings here were made of materials more resilient than anything he had encountered before.

The architecture was grand and imposing, and it was clear that whoever made this place was prepared to face opponents much more powerful than Divine Transcendence Masters.

Another thing Cain noticed was that the division present in the outer ring of the Gu Sect also appeared in the Inner Ring.

As he surveyed the surroundings, he saw only members of the Dark Races around him.

That made Cain’s eyes glow with a meaningful light.

If the segregation was not just limited to the outer ring, it meant that whatever tension or impending conflict existed stretched up into the higher levels of the Gu Sect.

If it were merely at the lower tiers, then the stakes would be smaller.

But if it reached this inner domain, it suggested that whatever was brewing could shake the entire Lord Tier Organization.

This realization only made Cain’s excitement run even wilder.

As Cain considered his next steps, a sharp voice interrupted his thoughts.

“What are you doing here!?” a voice snarled to the side.

Cain turned, spotting a massive Atrox walking toward him.

The Atrox wore golden blade armor, its radiance seemingly capable of cutting the air itself.

In moments, the armored figure was less than a meter from Cain, eyes glowing with loathing and killing intent.

The Atrox’s hostile gaze flicked from Cain to Mario.

“And you,” the Atrox hissed, turning on Mario, “why are you following a human!?

Disgraceful!” Mario lowered his head and did not dare to refute.

Not only did this newcomer appear significantly more powerful, but he was also an Outer Elder and had enough enemies already.

There was no need to provoke another one.

Cain, on the other hand, did not respond.

It was not that he was afraid; he simply saw no profit in wasting words on a person like this.

Instead, he signaled Mario to continue walking, ignoring the Atrox’s hostility entirely.

“You dare!” The Atrox in golden armor was furious at being disregarded.

Without hesitation, he reached out with his massive hand, attempting to grab Cain by his robe.

However, just as the Atrox’s fingertips brushed the fabric, Cain vanished from that spot.

Before the Atrox could understand what was happening, a powerful blow landed on his chest with such force that it expelled all the air from his lungs and sent him flying.

The sudden assault caught everyone present by surprise.

The eyes of those watching widened as they saw that Cain’s single strike had left a burn mark on the Atrox’s golden armor.

Even if that man was not particularly strong among Divine Transcendence Masters, he still wielded significant power, and to see him dispatched so easily was shocking.

Of course, things might have been different if the Atrox had been prepared and channeled his energy.

But he never expected Cain to retaliate so decisively.  However, as soon as the Atrox crashed to the ground, dozens of powerful auras began to rise in the area, converging on Cain.

Members of the Dark Races appeared on all sides, their eyes fixed on the young Godslayer Human with intense hostility.

They resembled tigers ready to pounce on a lone sheep.

Mario could not help but tremble as he found himself surrounded by so many oppressive auras.

It was a terrifying predicament.

On the other hand, Cain remained composed, his eyes glowing with a golden light.

His voice rang out sharply, spreading through the surroundings with clarity and force.

“Are the rules and codes of the Gu Sect so easy to break that people can just attack elders without reason!?” Cain’s words echoed through the silence, reaching the ears of all those present.  Hearing this, the members of the Dark Races froze.

The Gu Sect may have encouraged infighting and bloodshed to foster strength, but it also enforced its rules with an iron fist.

Attacking an elder without justification was a grievous offense, punishable by death.

Many of those who had been ready to leap at Cain hesitated, their killing intent faltering.

The risk of breaking the sect’s laws was too great a gamble.

Still, not everyone was willing to let the matter go so easily.

A member of the Hell Clan stepped forward, challenging Cain’s claim.

“You attacked Carl!

We have the right to pay back!” Cain glanced at the Hell Clan member, his expression unruffled.

He spoke again before anyone could escalate the situation further.

“That man attacked me first, and I exercised my right to self-defense.

I have proof.” Following those words, Cain pointed at his shoulder, showing the mark on his robe.

It was where Carl had tried to grab him.

The Hell Clan member was not so easily dissuaded and persisted with a sneer.

“Carl barely left you a scratch, and you nearly shattered his ribs with that fist.

How is that fair?” When Cain heard those words, a mocking smile full of disdain appeared on his face.

“Fair?” he repeated, voice dripping with sarcasm.

“Who is talking about fairness?

I’m talking about rules and codes.

He performed an attack on me, so I performed one on him.

Since I did not kill him, I acted within the rules of the Gu Sect.” Silence reigned for a moment as the gathered Dark Races processed Cain’s explanation.

They cast sidelong glances at one another, uncertain how to proceed.

In that silence, something shifted.

The crowd recognized that this was no naïve newcomer who did not know the rules, no weak target to be bullied.

Rather, Cain was a shrewd individual who could turn their own rules to his advantage.
