The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1376
Chapter 1376: Facing the Light Races of the Gu Sect Chapter 1376: Facing the Light Races of the Gu Sect Cain’s eyes kept glowing with the golden light of The Flow as he perceived the movements and emotions coursing through those around him.
While he trusted that the crowd would not dare to break the Gu Sect’s rules openly, he knew there could always be crazy people who did not care about the consequences.
He remained ready to act at a moment’s notice if anyone was foolish enough to attack him.
Luckily, that did not happen.
Without further delays, Cain glanced at Mario, signaling that they should continue moving forward.
The members of the Dark Races who had confronted him before could only watch with cold gazes and simmering killing intent as the duo walked away.
Although they could not fly this time-as only Inner Elders could do so in the Inner Ring-Cain and Mario moved at a breakneck pace.
They advanced rapidly through the inner region of the Gu Sect’s territory, drawing closer to the Gu Armory with every passing moment.
As they moved along the streets, Mario could not help but glance at Cain with a sharp look. Cain kept his eyes forward, scanning the path ahead, and spoke without turning his head, “Ask if you want to know something.
Otherwise, stop staring at me and focus on the road.” His tone was sharp and direct and left no room for unnecessary chatter.
Mario considered these words for a few seconds before speaking.
“We could have surrounded the inner wall,” he began, carefully selecting his words, “and entered through the south gate.
However, you chose to go straight through the northern gate, knowing that there could be problems.” Cain continued looking ahead, showing no outward reaction, and asked with a calm voice, “And why would I do that?” Mario did not answer immediately.
He took his time, thinking it through.
Eventually, he voiced his conclusion.
“You wanted a chance to demonstrate your might.
Not because you care what others think, but because by doing so now, you save yourself a lot of trouble in the future.
People will think twice before messing with you from now on.” It was only after hearing this that Cain turned to the young Atrox.
A sharp light appeared in his eyes as he examined Mario more closely.
“You’ve had a rough life, haven’t you?
To have developed wits and instincts like those…” Mario’s eyes narrowed slightly.
He chose not to answer, simply turning back to the road.
Cain just smiled faintly and kept walking forward.
The Atrox was correct in his assessment.
That earlier display of strength and cunning was indeed a calculated choice on Cain’s part.
He did not have time or patience to handle every insignificant challenge that might come his way.
By making an example of someone right at the start, he ensured that future conflicts would at least have some substance.
Anyone who dared come after him now would either be strong enough to matter or a suicidal fool.
After nearly thirty-five minutes of running, the duo finally reached a massive building adorned with the image of a shield and an axe above its walls.
However, that was not the only thing that caught Cain’s attention.

As he looked around, he noticed the presence of Humans, Behemoths, and Mechanicus in the area.
All of them were members of the Light Races.
It seemed that they had reached the southern part of the Gu Sect’s territory. Yet Cain was not received with welcoming smiles.
Instead, the members of the Light Races cast glances of discomfort or disdain, seemingly displeased to see him accompanied by someone from the Dark Races.
“Ahhhh, how troublesome,” Cain sighed internally.
Part of the reason he had chosen a member of the Dark Races as his guide was to gauge the reactions of both camps.
The results were clear: xenophobia ran deep on all sides, and simply standing close to someone of a different race stirred hostility. “Before gaining enough power,” Cain reflected in silence, “trying to implement the Scarlet Ideology in the Everstrife Empyrean World will be a distant dream at best and suicidal at worst.
If I tried now, maybe both sides would gang up against me.” A slight frown arose on Cain’s face as he understood the scale of the challenge ahead.
He had a lot of work to do if he ever wanted to shape this world to his ideals.
Still, he did not let these thoughts distract him too much.
He moved forward, entering the Gu Armory with Mario by his side. Inside the Gu Armory, a young, beautiful human woman stood at the entrance.
When she first noticed Cain entering, she offered a radiant smile.
However, the moment her eyes swept over to Mario, realizing Cain was accompanied by an Atrox Immortus, that smile vanished instantly.
The warmth disappeared, replaced by coldness and barely concealed disgust.
“Why are you here?” the young woman asked bluntly.
She did not bother to hide her rudeness, addressing Cain as if he were a beggar who had wandered into a place where he didn’t belong.
Cain’s eyes narrowed at the way the woman spoke.
He saw the emblem on her robes and recognized her status as an Inner Disciple of the Gu Sect.
He had already made it clear to the Dark Races that he would not be pushed around, and he had no intention of making exceptions for the Light Races.
His voice was cold as he spoke, “Is that the way you speak to an Outer Elder?” When he uttered these words, Cain’s eyes began to glow with a red light.
There were people who would take a mile if given an inch, and he would not allow anyone to think they could bully or dismiss him.
The young woman’s face drained of color as the red light in Cain’s eyes flooded her vision.
In that instant, an illusion manifested in her mind.
She saw a massive, demonic snake’s head descending upon her, jaws wide and ready to swallow her whole.
Her body and soul tremble under the weight of that terrifying image.
Fear gripped her heart as she confronted the thought of being devoured, of having her existence snuffed out.
Just as panic was about to overwhelm her, another voice intervened.
“Young friend, is there a need to go so hard on an Inner Disciple?
We elders should show more restraint.” Along with those words came an invisible force that clashed with Cain’s willpower.
It pulled back the mental assault he had unleashed upon the young woman, protecting her from further torment.
