The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1377
Chapter 1377: New weapon (I) Chapter 1377: New weapon (I) Cain’s eyes narrowed as he felt the willpower that managed to push back his own.
Of course, he had not been using the full pressure of his Ego Wave, as doing so would have killed the woman who had dared to show him disrespect.
Still, the ease with which his mental pressure was countered meant that whoever stood behind that invisible defense must possess willpower equal to or even superior to a Middle Divine Transcendence Master.
Immediately, Cain’s focus turned toward a middle-aged man who walked forward with calm, confident steps.
This newcomer was extremely handsome, nearly three meters tall, with golden hair and an aura that seemed to wash over the entire room, imposing and controlled.
He carried himself with the ease of someone used to power and respect.
“Hello, Outer Elder Laurifer.
My name is Zoan, and I am the head manager of the Gu Armory.
In what can I help you?” Cain’s eyes narrowed again upon hearing Zoan’s greeting.
He had been inside the city for less than half a day, and yet this man addressed him by name.
It suggested the internal workings of the Gu Sect were finely attuned, and information flowed rapidly through some hidden network.
Before Cain could respond, however, the young woman who had just been trembling in fear only a second ago suddenly shouted, her voice filled with rage and hatred.
“Inner Elder Zoan, apprehend this man for his crimes!” Zoan immediately frowned at her words.
It was one thing for him to intervene to help the young woman, but taking orders from an Inner Disciple was simply too much.
The Gu Sect’s hierarchy was clear: Inner Disciples had their status, but they were not in a position to command an Inner Elder; the mere act could be considered a crime.
The young woman’s eyes widened as she realized her blunder.
She tried to apologize, but she made the mistake of focusing her pleas on Zoan rather than on Cain.
Her realization came too late.
In the next second, a slap landed on her face with such force that bones cracked audibly, and her body was hurled across the room, crashing into the walls of the armory.
The impact left her entire face bloodied, nearly splitting her skull in half.
Mario, who had been watching everything from the sidelines and not daring to utter a word, could not help but gasp.
He had seen Cain’s efficiency and ruthlessness before, but this act was so sudden and brutal that it shocked him anew.
He turned toward Zoan, worried that a fierce battle might erupt at any moment, but the handsome middle-aged man maintained a calm expression.
Zoan glanced at the bloody young woman sprawled against the wall, her moans and gasps filling the air.
Then he turned his gaze toward Cain, his demeanor still composed.
“She has some friends that will not be happy with this,” Zoan said, his tone neutral.
There was no blame in his words, merely an observation.
The implication was clear: injuring this woman might bring retaliation.
Cain waved his hand, incinerating the woman’s spilled blood with a precise burst of power.
Then he turned to Zoan, his eyes reflecting the same calmness.

“Will they be willing to die for her?” Zoan’s eyes narrowed at that retort.
It was evident that Cain would not be frightened by mere threats.
If someone sought compensation for what had just happened, they would find themselves facing a nightmare.
After a moment of silence, Zoan shrugged slightly.
“Mmmm, I don’t think so,” he admitted.
“But there are all sorts of fools in this world.” With that, Zoan glanced at some of the other people in the room, silently instructing them to take care of the injured woman.
Then, he stopped wasting his time on her and focused solely on Cain.
“I guess you are here to trade your tickets,” Zoan said, changing the subject smoothly. Cain did not bother to be subtle.
He nodded and waved his hand, taking one of the tickets he had obtained upon becoming an Outer Elder and handing it over to Zoan.
The middle-aged man examined the ticket for a moment before igniting it with a spark of energy.
He nodded to Cain as the ashes drifted away.
“That ticket allows you a Divine Transcendence Weapon.
Please follow me.” Without hesitation, Cain followed Zoan as they walked deeper into the armory.
He gestured for Mario to come along.
The Atrox Immortus was surprised by the invitation but did not dare disobey and quickly trailed behind the two Godslayer Humans.
Zoan noticed this but showed little care.
They continued walking until they stood in front of a massive golden wall.
“What kind of weapon do you seek?” Zoan asked.
Cain was a bit confused as to why they had come directly to a solid golden wall to select a weapon, but he did not waste time.
He knew what he wanted.
“I use Fire Star Power.
I would like a long weapon, something like a spear.” Cain had trained extensively in nearly all forms of melee weapons, thanks to his own experiences and those he had seized from others through their memories.
Among these, spears were one of his favorites.
They combined reach and versatility, fitting well with his combat style.
Although he possessed his own powerful weapon-the Spear of Doomsday-he could not reveal such a World Treasure so soon.
Doing so might tempt even Peak Divine Transcendence Masters into attacking him for it.
Secrecy and subtlety were essential in these early days of establishing himself in the Gu Sect.
Zoan nodded at the request.
His eyes glowed as he focused on the wall, pointing his hand toward it.
Immediately, the golden surface trembled, shifting and rearranging itself.
Pieces of it began to move aside, revealing dozens of weapons hidden within.
Spears, spikes, halberds, and other long arms appeared, each radiating a distinct aura of power.
Cain’s eyes widened slightly.
Even though none of these weapons could compare with the Spear of Doomsday, they were still impressive. “You can inspect them with your Ego Wave, so you can have a good perception of their power.
Once you choose one, I will retrieve it for you,” Zoan explained.
He was accustomed to this routine, and every step reflected years of experience in dealing with elders and their preferences.
