The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1379
Chapter 1379: Gu Library Chapter 1379: Gu Library Cain’s eyes sharpened as he heard that single word from Mario’s mind.
There was no mockery or pity in Cain’s gaze, only a calm recognition as if he understood the power of that emotion all too well.
“Vengeance, a good source of motivation,” Cain said, his voice transmitted directly into Mario’s mind.
“It once kept me alive after my body was destroyed and my cultivation crippled.” He recalled the time he first faced the Blood King when the name of the Scarlet King rose into the world.
It was a memory drenched in fury, suffering, and the unyielding will to survive no matter the odds.
Mario stood there, confusion etched on his features.
But before the Atrox could utter a word, Cain’s eyes refocused.
With a simple motion of his hand, Cain sent a Spirit Stone flying toward Mario. Once more, Cain’s voice echoed in Mario’s head.
“If you are still alive in three months, look for me.
I will give you the power to obtain your revenge.” Mario had barely had time to process those words before he looked up, intending to question Cain further.
Yet Cain was already walking away, merging into the crowd and leaving Mario behind.
The Atrox clenched his grip around the Spirit Stone, aware of what this implied.
He understood that many would resent him for guiding a Godslayer Human into the heart of the Gu Sect.
Yet, for the first time in a long while, Mario felt a spark of hope ignite.
The rage hidden deep within his heart could finally be given purpose.
With sharpened determination in his eyes, Mario turned away and left for the outer ring of the Gu Sect.
Cain sensed the Atrox leaving the inner ring but no longer paid him any attention.
If Mario proved capable of enduring the next three months, Cain would honor his promise.
Should Mario die, it did not matter.
There were thousands of people who would accept Cain’s deal if needed, and if none did, he would simply use those who dared to defy him as subjects for his experiments.
His approach was as pragmatic as it was ruthless.
Now walking alone, Cain observed the members of the Light Races around him.
Those who saw the badge of an Outer Elder displayed amity-amicable smiles and respectful nods.
However, beyond the surface politeness, Cain sensed their guarded intentions.
Many only offered courtesy because of his status, not out of genuine goodwill.
In this demonic sect, appearances and alliances were fluid, and trust was scarce.
Cain reciprocated their gestures with the bare minimum of politeness, unwilling to lower his guard. As he strolled through the inner ring, a familiar voice reached into his mind.
“Soon, rumors about your actions will spread across the sect,” Apex’s voice echoed calmly.
“I don’t think you will find it easy to make friends.
Those of the Dark Camp will stay away due to your race, while those from the Light Camp will not see kindly your familiarity with an Atrox.” Cain only shrugged his shoulders casually.

“I guess I made a blunder then.
No one will want to stay by my side,” he replied, sounding unconcerned.
“Hmph, brat, you need to live another million years to trick me,” Apex retorted.
“You are clearly intent on taking the role of an outsider.
True, both sides might repudiate you, but they will also see your value when it comes to shady business.” A small smile rose on Cain’s face at the System Spirit’s words, but he offered no further insight.
Apex understood him well enough.
While others struggled for alliances and position, Cain chose a path fraught with danger but also great potential.
By maintaining a certain neutrality-allowing both camps to distrust him-he opened a door to becoming a rare commodity.
All it would take was time and opportunity.
After all, Cain did not care about a future in the Gu Sect; he saw it purely as a source of resources and knowledge.
He had no intention of settling down or integrating peacefully.
Given Cain’s speed, it did not take long for him to reach a massive tower.
Unlike most of the other buildings that glowed with might and displayed refined architecture, this tower was old.
Its surface showed the passage of countless years.
Yet, Cain could tell at a glance that it was one of the most secure and durable places in the entire Gu Sect.
This was the Gu Library, and its importance was self-evident.
Such a place would not store mere books-it would hold cultivation techniques, the lifeblood of any organization.
Cain had the Codex of Infinite Pathways, so he understood the nature of each rank in cultivation and what steps he needed to take.
However, advancing would be difficult without a proper cultivation technique suitable to his powers.
Even if he forced improvements, flaws, and weaknesses would emerge, stalling his progress later.
He did have some fire-based cultivation techniques gleaned from the memories of the Inferno Daemon he killed, but those were average at best.
He hoped to find something much better within a Lord Tier Organization like the Gu Sect, something that could match his ambitions.
Without further hesitation, Cain walked into the tower.
Upon entry, he found a massive empty hall stretching out before him.
It was almost unsettling in its simplicity.
No shelves, no attendants immediately in sight, just open space.
Standing in this emptiness was a tiny old man from the Nether Clan of the Inferno Daemon race.
The elder appeared to be resting atop what looked like a wild beast, something akin to a hunting dog yet far more imposing. As soon as Cain stepped into the tower, the beast’s eyes snapped open.
Its aura flooded the area, heavy and ferocious.
Cain could not help but clench his fist momentarily as he felt the creature’s oppressive presence.
This beast was truly fearsome.
Its might did not fall short of a Peak Immortal Dragon like Grand Elder Bahamut.
Yet, while the beast radiated strength, Cain noticed something else: it seemed fearful of disturbing the old man.
That implied the elder’s strength surpassed even this monstrous creature.
Cain took a few more steps forward, careful and respectful, and then clasped his hands, performing a small bow.
He could not afford to show arrogance here.
T After a respectful pause, Cain brought forth his last Gu Ticket.
“I am Outer Elder Cain Laurifer,” he said calmly, his voice steady.
“I came to relinquish a cultivation technique through the Gu Ticket.”
