The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1400
Chapter 1400: Night Prince’s meeting Chapter 1400: Night Prince’s meeting Cain had not even meditated for half a day when the second envoy arrived, and just as he had expected, his luck was not good.
Booming words reverberated from beyond the doors of his residence: “Tell that man that Inner Elder Paramon is here.
He must come and welcome me!” They were so loud that Cain could hear them without any problem, prompting him to let out a soft sigh.
“Well,” he murmured to himself, “this is a sect that promotes infighting, and bullying others into doing your bidding is quite normal.
So I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.” Without further delay, Cain stood from his meditative posture and walked out of the room.
Cain paid no attention to the panic on the butler’s face and instead focused on the figure looming at his front gates-a massive man from the Dues Behemoth Race.
The envoy was truly gigantic, measuring nearly seven meters in height.
He resembled a humanoid wolf with wings protruding from his back, and the sheer force of his presence seemed to weigh on the surrounding air.
His glare carried the unspoken threat of someone who took pleasure in reminding others of their lower station.
“Hmph, you take your time,” the colossal figure growled as Cain approached.
“Follow me.
Core Elder Lucius has summoned you.” Every syllable dripped with overbearing confidence.
Paramon seemed determined to prove that he was not a mere messenger but a formidable presence who could intimidate any so-called “Outer Elder.” Cain recognized this tone.
The man made himself sound arrogant, large, and dismissive, but The Flow’s golden light flickering in Cain’s eyes revealed something else.
In that fleeting moment of spiritual perception, he sensed intelligence, disguised aggression, and provocation swirling in Paramon’s emotions.
It was as though the envoy from the Dues Behemoth Race was testing Cain’s resilience.
If Cain responded meekly, they would treat him as a convenient tool in their faction.
If he showed too much aggression, the confrontation could spiral out of control.
Paramon was a powerful Late Divine Transcendence Master.
Unless Cain was ready to reveal all his hidden cards-including any World Treasures he possessed-he could not guarantee victory in an open fight.
Still, not every conflict needed violence.
Cain considered his options in a heartbeat, then spoke calmly: “I have some important matters to attend to right now, but I will make sure to visit Core Elder Lucius as soon as I’m free.” With those few words, Cain turned around and headed back into his residence, showing no sign that he cared to wait for a reply.
The sight of him leaving without giving Paramon a chance to retort set the tension soaring.
“YOU DARE!” roared Paramon, his rage exploding into the open air.
His aura burst outward, flooding the surroundings and causing even nearby servants to feel suffocated.
The man’s voice hammered through every courtyard in the compound, making it clear he would not be ignored.
Cain stopped in his tracks.
Slowly, he turned, his expression composed.
Though the oppressive pressure from Paramon weighed heavily, Cain showed no indication it troubled him.
His gaze sharpened, an icy gleam behind it as he responded in an aloof manner.

“I have done nothing to justify your outburst.
If you step into my residence uninvited, it will be considered trespassing.
I’m sure you don’t want to break sect rules, do you?” For a moment, fury and aggression continued to ripple across Paramon’s face, but all that rage ebbed away swiftly.
It was replaced by a tight, practiced smile.
He retracted his aura as though it had never been unleashed and offered Cain a meaningful nod.
“You are just as the stories tell-powerful and wise.
Master Lucius wants to speak with you.
Come at your convenience, as long as it’s done within this week.” Those were his parting words, uttered with forced politeness, before Paramon turned around and left.
He did not linger for Cain’s response.
Whether Cain actually appeared before Core Elder Lucius or not would speak volumes about his attitude.
Cain watched him go, a small smile crossing his face.
It was intriguing to see the tactics employed by this other faction.
Cain noted that while he could only join one faction, meeting more people and learning more about the Gu Contest would be beneficial.
Returning to his dwelling once more, he adopted a meditative stance on the floor, closing his eyes to resume his training.
Night fell over Cain’s residence, draping the courtyard in silence.
No further visitors arrived, and the once-bustling corridors became still.
Cain continued his cultivation, focusing on his Astral Rebirth Path of Power.
He recirculated star force, reinforcing his defenses and ensuring that if a third envoy arrived unannounced, he would be prepared.
Yet as the hours passed, a different kind of disturbance occurred.
Suddenly, Cain saw himself standing in a massive realm of darkness.
A frown creased his brow as he realized this was clearly not the Gu Sect.
Whatever was happening, it had seized his mind without his consent.
Glancing around, he saw nothing but infinite night.
Before he could attempt to understand more, a figure materialized within this murky domain.
The newcomer was humanoid, but Cain perceived only darkness.
The figure had no distinct features, merely a vaguely human outline formed of shadows.
Despite its nebulous appearance, its presence was undeniable-a powerful spiritual manifestation or projection that had invaded Cain’s mind.
“Good evening, Outer Elder Laurifer.
It is a pleasure to finally meet your essence.
I am the Night Princes,” the figure spoke.
The voice resonated through the darkness like a low echo, confirming Cain’s suspicion that this was a purposeful intrusion, not a random dream.
Cain said nothing at first, withholding any courtesy.
After all, this Night Princes had forced itself into Cain’s realm of sleep or meditation without consent.
Cain looked around, noticing the endless gloom swirling with intangible energies.
Only then did he speak, in a measured tone.
“So you’re able to connect with me through dreams.
Impressive.” At that remark, the Night Prince’s eyes seemed to widen for a second, though his face remained indistinct-only the slightest shift in the dark silhouette indicated surprise.
“You truly are special,” the Night Prince responded in his low voice.
“I guess we will work very well together.”
