The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1410
Chapter 1410: Defeating the Anima Chapter 1410: Defeating the Anima A cold and bloodthirsty smile appeared on Aladon’s face as he watched his swords-more than thirty in total-hurtling toward the human.
Even though Aladon’s wounds hindered his full might, he remained convinced of his impending triumph.
Each sword possessed the power of a complete attack from an Early Divine Transcendence Master, and unleashing so many at once rendered a counter seemingly impossible.
To Aladon’s eyes, there was no way the young man could emerge alive.
However, fate defied his expectations.
“CLANKKK!” The moment the swords met Cain’s flesh, they failed to slice through it.
No stab wounds.
Not a single droplet of blood drawn.
Instead of cowering in terror, Cain merely smiled as though he had anticipated such a scenario.
Aladon’s cold smirk vanished, replaced by shock and horror.
“WHAT!?” he roared, his voice echoing across the swamp.
He could not believe what he saw: countless yang runes glowing with a fierce radiance covered Cain’s body.
They looked like a layer of armor-impervious, unbreakable. “ARRGGGHH!” Before Aladon could recover from his surprise, Cain bellowed, releasing a burst of scorching Star Power that flared around his body in an explosive surge.
The chains of time restricting his movements cracked, then shattered, while the swords that had attempted to carve his flesh disintegrated into nothingness.
In the very next heartbeat, Cain’s magma halberd swung downward, aiming directly for Aladon’s chest.
Even in his weakened state, Aladon tried to evade, but there was no escaping.
The blade struck point-blank, burning a vast, smoldering wound into his torso before launching him into the ground.
BOOOOOMMMM!
He crashed downward with tremendous force, blasting a crater in the swamp.
Mud and debris flew in every direction, ignited by the fiery Star Power that accompanied Cain’s blow.
A mighty explosion of heat laid waste to the area, creating a cloud of steam that rose into the air.
Cain did not direct much attention to the destruction below.
Instead, he glanced at the runes still shimmering across his body.
Those yang runes signified that he had achieved perfection in the first level of the Solar Titan Cultivation Technique.
By itself, that defense might not have been enough to repel Aladon’s swords, given that each was charged with the power of a Divine Transcendence Master.
The true reason the swords failed to pierce him was the simultaneous completion of the first level of the Indestructible Herculean Technique.
After pushing his cultivation to the Peak Divine Ascension Rank, Cain stripped away the barrier, preventing his physical body from advancing to Herculean Bastion.
With that threshold removed, his flesh could withstand point-blank strikes from an Early Divine Ascension Master without sustaining damage.
“Hahaha,” Cain laughed, exulting in the moment.
“The technique did not sell itself short.

It is truly amazing!” That sense of triumph, though, was short-lived.
Determination, laced with cold killing intent, emerged in Cain’s eyes.
The power of his Ego Wave flowed outward from his Rebirth Heart, coursing into his Evolution Core and Inner World. Below, Aladon hauled himself out of the newly formed crater.
His entire metallic body recoiled under the strain of pain while his energy fluctuated in disarray.
Fury raged in his gaze, but there was a tinge of unwillingness there, too-his injuries made it virtually impossible to match Cain’s defensive prowess.
Even so, he was not prepared to surrender.
“Hmph, if you think you can take me out easily, think again,” Aladon hissed, forcing his hands together.
A massive pool of Essence Origin and time energy gathered between them.
The swirling forces around his body intensified, hinting at a final, desperate technique.
Aladon’s gaze stayed locked on the young man in the sky, refusing to look anywhere else.
Unfortunately for him, that decision spelled disaster.
In the next moment, he felt a hand press against the back of his head.
Before he could spin around, a powerful spirit strike surged into his mind and soul.
Already strained by physical injuries, he had no reserves left to shield his consciousness.
The Anima let out a strangled gasp as his eyes rolled back.
Then, his body slumped forward, plunging into unconsciousness.
Cain’s eyes were cold as the illusion of him standing in the sky vanished.
Only then did he hear the voice of Apex echo inside his mind: “The Anima was strong and seemed willing to die if that meant taking you with him.
Sadly for him, he never considered the possibility that you could be a dual cultivator and was too focused on your melee power to notice the illusion.” Cain dipped his head in acknowledgment.
Even with his robust defense, the final attack Aladon was readying might have inflicted serious harm.
He was grateful not to have tested his luck against it.
Without hesitation, Cain dispatched Aladon’s unconscious form to his Inner World, removing the defeated Anima from the battlefield.
With that handled, Cain took a step forward and invoked the Law of Space, vanishing from the charred swamp.
Moments later, he reappeared in the midst of a massive storm thousands of kilometers away.
Lightning forked across the sky, and thunder boomed with deafening force.
Winds whipped around with relentless ferocity, a tempest that could crush beings below the Divine Transcendence Realm.
However, Cain’s newly strengthened body perceived the raging elements as little more than a gentle breeze.
With an idle wave of his hand, he created a vacuum at the storm’s center and brought forth Aladon’s unconscious figure.
An ominous glow manifested on Cain’s forehead as the Eye of Gluttony came to be.
Focusing on Aladon, Cain sent his consciousness directly into the Anima’s mind, erecting a bridge that allowed Leviathan to pass through.
Inside Aladon’s Soul Dimension, an Alter-Ego duel began in earnest.
Although Aladon’s Ego Eternal aspect lagged behind his Essence Evolution Path of Power, the man remained a Late Divine Transcendence Master.
His willpower was no trifling matter.
However, despite Aladon’s base strength, the severe wounds inflicted earlier had worn him down, leaving him vulnerable.
Leviathan exploited that weakness, pressing relentlessly until the Anima’s Alter-Ego collapsed.
Leviathan devoured the enemy’s will, and in doing so, Cain gained a rush of memories.
He felt them flood his mind in a rushing tide of images, glimpses of Aladon’s knowledge, experiences, alliances, and betrayals.
For a moment, Cain nearly lost himself in the torrent of insights.
Then he steadied, letting the new information settle into his consciousness.
In a single moment, Cain understood precisely why Aladon had been labeled a traitor-and, more importantly, why Lady Azure had wanted him dead.
