Initially, everything should have been straightforward: find whatever valuables lay within, bring them back to Lady Azure, and complete the mission.

However, the temptation proved irresistible once they stumbled upon a remarkably impressive World Treasure.

According to the tale Lady Azure had provided in the mission briefing, Cain was led to believe that Aladon alone had instigated the bloodshed, murdering his own teammates to secure the relic.

Now, through personal investigation and gleaned knowledge, Cain realized that the version of events omitted critical truths.

It was not Aladon who first drew blood but rather another member of the team-a man desperate enough to kill anyone who stood between him and the treasure.

Overestimating his capabilities, that would-be usurper died in the ensuing conflict, though he managed to take nearly everyone else with him.

By the time the skirmish ended, only Aladon remained to claim the artifact.

Yet Cain’s gaze quickly shifted to something infinitely more intriguing: a space ring, glinting faintly on Aladon’s now-lifeless fingers.

Breaking the ring’s spirit mark was effortless once Aladon was gone.

Scanning its contents, Cain found the source of all this trouble: a massive golden coffin traced with strange runes and sigils.

Merely touching it with his Ego Wave allowed him to sense an extraordinary aura pulsing from the relic.

“Not bad,” Apex’s voice resonated in Cain’s mind.

“I can sense that its power is not much weaker than the Fallen Archangel Set.” Cain acknowledged the remark with a slight nod.

“There appears to be some kind of seal on it,” Apex continued.

“You’d need to break that seal before you could use the coffin’s power.

That explains why Aladon never tried to summon it.” Red flames flickered in Cain’s eyes as he activated his Ego Wave to study the coffin more deeply.

“Perhaps it was created by a Third Realm life form?” Cain mused quietly, a solemn light crossing through his eyes.  Despite the coffin’s promise of power, he decided to store it back in Aladon’s space ring.

He cast one last glance at the remains of the Anima, then channeled a subtle wave of energy to lift the body and send it back into his Inner World.

Apex’s voice intruded again.

“Oh, you’re not going to hold on to the coffin?

The old women never mentioned a treasure in your mission instructions.” Cain responded with a faint smile.

“I’m aware of that, but if I’m correct, that was the entire point of sending me.

Lady Azure wanted to see if I’d keep the relic or hand it over.

She wants to assess whether I’m motivated solely by greed or whether I can be trusted with missions of this sort.” Indeed, Cain knew full well that Lady Azure was dangerous and shrewd.
