The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1459
Chapter 1459: Mario’s death Chapter 1459: Mario’s death “Hahaha…
Worth it!” Mario’s voice rang out, ragged but triumphant.
His words were steeped in satisfaction, his grin defiant even as blood poured from his mouth.
To him, it was a fair trade-his life in exchange for the man he hated from the bottom of his soul was more than worth it.
His death was a price he was willing to pay, and he bore no regrets.
However, that sense of grim satisfaction wasn’t shared by the man plunging a spear into his chest.
The guard’s expression was a mixture of rage and horror as his grip tightened on the bloodied weapon.
“You bastard!
Do you even understand what you’ve done?
You’ve killed the son of Duke Hekar!” The guard’s voice cracked with fury, but beneath it was the unmistakable tremor of fear.
The consequences of this act loomed large over him.
To fail to protect a duke’s heir was a death sentence in itself.
Another guard stood nearby, staring at the lifeless noble with a mixture of disbelief and despair.
He shook his head, knowing there was no undoing what had been done.
“Dammit, dammit, dammit!
Alorio, kill that bastard!” The first guard’s shout snapped the spearman, Alorio, into action.
Without hesitation, Alorio unleashed his Star Power, channeling overwhelming energy through his weapon.
Mario’s body jerked violently as the energy ruptured his internal organs, snuffing out the last flicker of life.
Far from the carnage, Cain floated high above the Everlife Continent.
His sharp eyes gazed into the distance, glowing faintly with the power of the Eye of Gluttony and his Alter-Ego.
Through the connection he’d established with Mario via the Leviathan Shadow, he felt the young Atrox’s life extinguish.
There was no sorrow in Cain’s demeanor, only cold calculation.
Mario’s death was a possibility Cain had considered.
Yet, it wasn’t the end.
Sitting cross-legged in the air, Cain summoned the full might of Leviathan, focusing his will on the shadow lurking within Mario’s corpse.
On the battlefield, Alorio yanked his spear free from Mario’s body with a grim expression.
He let the corpse fall to the ground and turned to walk away when something caught his eye.
Mario’s body twitched unnaturally as though something was stirring within it.
“Laron, something’s happening!” Alorio called out to his companion, his voice tinged with unease.
Before either could react further, Mario’s body began to wither at an alarming rate.

His skin shriveled, his muscles collapsed, and his entire form desiccated into a dry husk.
It was as though every ounce of vitality, energy, and blood had been siphoned away in an instant.
Without warning, Mario’s jaw snapped open, and from the depths of his throat, an ethereal, demonic-winged serpent emerged.
The ghostly snake moved with unearthly speed, streaking toward Alorio and burrowing into his chest through one of Mario’s earlier wounds.
“Ahhhh!” Alorio’s scream was a mixture of agony and terror.
The spectral snake drove deeper, fusing with his Sacred Organ, the heart.
He clawed at his chest, tearing through his skin in a futile attempt to wrench the intruder out, but the Leviathan Shadow was beyond his reach.
“Alorio!
What’s happening?” Laron shouted, rushing to his comrade’s side.
He could only watch helplessly as Alorio convulsed on the ground, his body writhing in pain.
The torment lasted only moments before Alorio collapsed, unconscious.
Laron crouched beside him, his face etched with concern.
Desperate for answers, he extended his Ego Wave into Alorio’s body, searching for any signs of corruption.
Yet, no matter how thoroughly he probed, he found nothing unusual.
Before Laron could have even the sightless notion of what was happening, Alorio’s body emitted a devouring force that sent shivers down his spine.
The energy was ravenous, consuming the energy in the surroundings and the vitality from the ground, leaving the air thin and lifeless.
Laron frowned.
The devouring energy was eerily similar to the technique Mario had used in their fight, but before he could piece the connection together, Alorio’s eyes snapped open.
They burned with rage-a consuming, primal fury that snuffed out any trace of reason.
Without a word, Alorio drove his fist into Laron’s chest with devastating force.
The blow sent Laron flying into a nearby mountain, the impact reducing the rocky surface to rubble.
“ARGGHHHHH!” Alorio roared, his body trembling with uncontrolled rage.
He launched himself at Laron, pummeling him relentlessly.
“What are you doing?
Alorio, stop!” Laron shouted between attacks, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.
Alorio’s onslaught was merciless, each strike fueled by the Leviathan Shadow’s influence.
Laron tried to defend himself, but Alorio’s power overwhelmed him.
With one final, earth-shattering blow, Alorio crushed his comrade’s skull, leaving the battlefield painted in blood and silence before falling unconscious again.
Far away, Cain’s eyes burned with crimson flames, his pale face betraying the toll the effort had taken on him.
Manipulating a Leviathan Shadow from such a distance consumed an immense Ego Wave, but Cain had achieved his goal.
The shadow had successfully merged with Alorio, corrupting him and unleashing a destructive fury that eliminated his comrade. Cain could have easily killed Alorio as well, but doing so would have been wasteful.
Allowing the Leviathan Shadow to remain within Alorio served a greater purpose.
Through Alorio, Cain could observe how the Leviathan Shadow would act inside a new host, gaining invaluable insight into its power and limitations.
As for avenging Mario, Cain dismissed the idea entirely.
The Atrox’s death meant little to him.
Mario had willingly accepted the Leviathan Shadow, and both had benefited from the arrangement.
In the end, Mario had achieved his revenge by killing Duke Hekar’s son, fulfilling his goal.
Cain exhaled slowly, releasing the tension that had built up during the ordeal.
With the events on the battlefield settled Cain allowed his connection to the Leviathan Shadow to dim.
