The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1469
Chapter 1469: Into the citadel Chapter 1469: Into the citadel Cain, Elrick, and the rest of the group unleashed their energy in synchronized bursts, sending the Burning Golems flying back, giving them space to move.
Without wasting a moment, they dashed at full speed toward the dark citadel in the distance.
The group knew the Burning Golems were effectively immortal within the canyons, their connection to the terrain granting them endless regeneration.
However, this same connection also anchored them to the canyons.
If the golems attempted to leave, they would lose their power-assuming they could even cross that boundary.
Despite their immense strength, the Burning Golems were slow, and the group quickly managed to leave them behind.
Unfortunately, their brief sense of relief was short-lived.
As they pushed deeper into the canyon, more of the creatures began to emerge from the rocky walls and ground, each one radiating immense heat and destructive power.
To make matters worse, the floating pools of fire scattered throughout the landscape increased in both number and intensity.
These pools unleashed bursts of energy that forced the group to constantly adjust their path, veering off course and taking sharp, dangerous turns.
Not even an hour passed for the situation to go from dire to catastrophic. More than a thousand Burning Golems now chased them, their collective roars echoing through the canyons like an unending storm, their combined heat so intense that they set the air on fire.
Each of the cultivators knew that losing momentum for even a moment would be fatal.
If the golems caught up, their overwhelming numbers would bury them like an unstoppable tide.
The group burned through their energy reserves at an alarming rate as they endured the increasing radiation and maintained their top speeds.
Yet, each of them was a seasoned warrior, equipped with techniques and resources to restore their strength on the move.
Cain, however, was in a uniquely advantageous position.
The radiation of the Tier 9 Astral Supremacy Star coursing through his body not only kept him at peak condition but continued to make him stronger.
His Rebirth Heart absorbed the astral energy like an insatiable furnace, refining it into Star Power that enhanced him with every passing second.
After several grueling hours, the end of the canyon came into view, and with it, the massive gates of the dark citadel.
Relief flickered in the eyes of the group as they thought the worst was behind them.
“RUMBLE!” At that moment, the ground quaked violently, splitting apart before them.
From the newly-formed chasm, a massive Burning Golem emerged.
This creature dwarfed the others, standing more than a hundred times larger.
Its molten form radiated waves of heat so intense that even Elrick and the others, protected by their barriers, felt as though their skin was set ablaze.
“ROOOOOOARRRRRR!” The Giant Burning Golem roared, and the heat it unleashed struck the group like a hammer.
They staggered but quickly forced their energy to explode outward, resisting the crushing pressure.
Behind them, the army of smaller Burning Golems continued their relentless pursuit, their killing intent like an ocean threatening to engulf them.
Elrick’s eyes burned with determination as he glanced at the group.
It was clear they would have to overcome the Giant Burning Golem to reach the citadel.
As he prepared to coordinate their efforts, Cain moved.

Without a word, Cain dashed forward, the Spear of Doom in hand, his aura surging with deadly intent.
Elrick’s face twisted in anger.
The Giant Burning Golem was not an opponent that could be taken down by one person.
They needed to coordinate their attacks if they wanted even a chance of success.
At least, that was what everyone thought-until Cain struck.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!” A deafening explosion reverberated through the canyon as the Spear of Doom pierced the Giant Burning Golem’s chest.
A massive hole appeared in its molten core, and the creature’s roar faltered, its movements slowing.
Elrick and the rest of the group stared in stunned silence, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
How had Cain, alone, inflicted such overwhelming damage?
Cain offered no explanation.
The truth lay in his mastery of the Tier 9 Star Power coursing through his body, which he had concentrated into the Spear of Doom for a single, devastating strike with the help of the system.
But Cain wasn’t interested in their questions or awe.
His eyes were locked on the radiant pearl glowing within the hole he had created in the Giant Burning Golem’s chest.
Without hesitation, Cain flashed forward, grabbed the pearl, and darted toward the gates of the citadel.
The group’s confusion turned to frustration.
Several members showed flickers of greed at the sight of the pearl, but with the army of Burning Golems still pursuing them, they had no time to act on their desires.
Setting aside their thoughts, they followed Cain, diving through the hole in the Giant Burning Golem and rushing toward the citadel’s gates.
The Burning Golems pursuing them froze at the edge of the canyon, their steps halting as though an invisible barrier restrained them.
None dared leave their domain.
As for the Giant Burning Golem, it remained motionless for several seconds after Cain removed the pearl.
Then its massive body began to crumble, breaking apart into hundreds of smaller Burning Golems.
Inside the gates of the dark citadel, Cain and the others found themselves in a narrow, twisting corridor.
The walls were dark and jagged, illuminated only by flickering flames embedded in the ceiling.
Shadows danced unnaturally across the stone, creating an ominous atmosphere.
However, none of this mattered to the group.
Their focus was entirely on the suffocating radiation that filled the air.
The radiation within the citadel was nearly four times more intense than what they had endured in the canyon.
It struck with such force and suddenness that several members of the group winced, blisters forming on their exposed skin despite their barriers.
Cain, however, remained unfazed.
The radiation flowed through his body effortlessly, nourishing his Rebirth Heart and strengthening him further.
While the others struggled to endure, Cain thrived, his calm demeanor masking the rapid evolution occurring within his very being.
