The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1470
Chapter 1470: Flaming Shadows Chapter 1470: Flaming Shadows Although the overwhelming radiation in the air was suffocating, and they felt like they were breathing fire, the Peak Divine Transcendence Masters quickly adapted.
Shielding themselves required a significant portion of their energy, but it was a necessary cost.
Once they stabilized their barriers and had a moment to think about something else other than surviving, Elrick and the rest of the group turned their gazes toward Cain, their expressions heavy with expectation.
They clearly wanted answers.
Unfortunately for them, Cain simply met their gazes with silence.
He had no intention of revealing his secrets.
As for the pearl he had taken from the Giant Burning Golem, it was rightfully his-none of them had intervened in the fight, so they had no claim to it.
If they want part of it, they could keep dreaming.
The atmosphere grew tense.
The silence that followed only made matters worse, as distrust lingered heavily in the air.
Though they were all members of the same sect, this was the Gu Sect, where betrayal and theft were as natural as breathing.
Everyone present had, at some point, killed a fellow sect member to claim their belongings, and they had done it for much less than that majestic fire pearl.
Before the tension could escalate, Elrick’s commanding voice cut through.
“Let’s move.
We must secure all the wealth in this place for Lady Azure.” His words immediately drew the group’s attention back to their mission, reminding them why they were there and who the treasures belonged to.
No matter how majestic the wealth was, it would all belong to Lady Azure, so it was pointless for them to fight among themselves.
The cultivators exchanged brief nods before resuming their march forward, their eyes sharp and their auras rising.
They had entered the true tomb of the Sky Sovereign, a legendary cultivator of the Third Realm.
The treasures in this place were bound to be extraordinary, but so too were the dangers.
Every step they took was cautious, their senses heightened for any potential threat.
Step by step, the group delved deeper into the dark corridors of the citadel.
Logic dictated that the most precious treasures would be located at the heart of the tomb, so that was where they headed.
However, the journey was anything but straightforward.
The first challenge became apparent almost immediately.
None of them could project their Ego Waves more than a few hundred meters ahead.
It was as if the citadel itself suppressed their perception, distorting their awareness and limiting their ability to detect potential threats.
At one point, the group glanced toward Cain, wondering if his unique abilities could overcome the restriction, but he shook his head.
Cain wasn’t lying-this suppression was beyond even the [A.I.
Chip Module].
Its electromagnetic scanning field, while incredibly advanced, could only extend a limited range in this place.

This was the tomb of a Third Realm life form, after all, and Cain’s tools were not yet powerful enough to overcome phenomena of this magnitude.
After nearly ten minutes of cautious walking, Cain’s expression darkened as he began to sense something unusual.
The shadows in the corridor seemed unnatural, shifting and moving in ways that defied logic.
His unease was soon validated.
Flames flickered in the darkness, forming dozens of pairs of flaming eyes that glared at the group with malevolence.
Moments later, humanoid shadow creatures emerged from the darkness, their forms shifting and rippling as though made of pure energy.
The Flaming Shadows lunged toward the group with terrifying speed!
Cain reacted instantly, thrusting the Spear of Doom forward and shattering one of the creatures into pieces.
However, his victory was short-lived.
The shattered pieces of the shadow re-fused with the surrounding darkness, reforming the creature in seconds.
It wasn’t just Cain facing this problem.
The others in the group, including Mary-who was a master of the Shadow Law-found themselves unable to kill the Flaming Shadows.
No matter how much damage they inflicted, the creatures regenerated endlessly, their forms sustained by the shadows that filled the corridor.
They faced a plight similar to the Burning Golemns, but this time, the enemies were so fast that trying to outrun them was not feasible. The battle quickly became chaotic.
Cain winced as one of the Flaming Shadows managed to slash across his shoulder, its claws cutting through flesh and muscle, nearly reaching the bone.
A cold light flickered in Cain’s eyes as he made his Star Power burst outward.
A radiant light engulfed his body, driving the Flaming Shadows back.
“ZNNNNN!” A searing noise echoed as the creatures recoiled from the radiant aura.
It was as if they couldn’t stand to be in its presence.
Elrick and the rest of the group immediately noticed the reaction.
Confusion flickered across their faces.
They had already unleashed massive waves of energy, many of which carried intense light, yet the Flaming Shadows had shown no fear of their attacks.
Why, then, did Cain’s light have such an effect?
For Cain, the answer was clear.
‘The Sky Sovereign was an Astral Rebirth cultivator who mastered Fire Star Power.
It makes sense that the creatures he left to guard his tomb would be weak against it,’ Cain thought.
Elrick frowned but quickly assessed the situation.
Realizing they couldn’t waste time or energy fighting the creatures individually, he gave the command.
“Stay close to Cain!
Use his light to keep the shadows at bay while we move forward!” The group hesitated for only a moment before falling into formation around Cain.
While it was clear some members were frustrated by their dependence on him, they understood the necessity of the tactic.
The Flaming Shadows continued to lurk around the edges of Cain’s radiant aura, watching and waiting for an opportunity to strike.
Cain said nothing, keeping his focus on maintaining the radiant energy as he led the group deeper into the tomb.
While the Flaming Shadows seemed ready to pounce the moment the light dimmed, Cain’s energy reserves were far from depleted.
Thanks to the radiation of the Tier 9 Astral Supremacy Star, his energy pool remained at its peak, constantly replenished by the celestial power coursing through him.
The group had just begun to relax slightly, finding some solace in Cain’s steady light when it happened.
