Swallowing his pride, Elrick said nothing and turned back to the formation, his movements more careful and deliberate this time.

Cain remained vigilant, watching Elrick’s work closely.

Finally, after five and a half hours, Cain and Elrick completed the last pathway.

The runic formation pulsed with energy, and the fiery wall began to dissipate.

The group let out sighs of relief, smiles breaking out as they believed this part of the trial was finally over.

However, their relief was short-lived.

Unlike before, the fire wall unraveled at an agonizingly slow pace, far from the near-instantaneous disappearance they had experienced before.

Cain frowned, his mind racing to understand why the process was delayed.

‘Why make us wait?’ he thought, unease creeping into his thoughts.
