The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1484
Chapter 1484: Letting them go Chapter 1484: Letting them go After understanding more about the Dark Races’ group, Cain surveyed the battlefield with keen eyes, ensuring that every skirmish had indeed subsided.
Cain’s body still trembled from exertion.
Yet, once he was certain there were no immediate threats, he took a deep breath and activated his space ring with a mere thought.
Hundreds of various medicinal pills and healing drugs-stash he had accumulated (or stolen) over the past year-poured out in a single motion, and he consumed them all without hesitation.
Almost immediately, he felt a burst of potent healing energy surge through his exhausted body.
The overwhelming fatigue and injuries that had been gnawing at his mind and flesh began to recede.
Although the process was not instantaneous, each passing moment eased his pain a bit more, lifting the burden of battle-weariness from his shoulders.
His shredded muscles, bruised bones, and scorched nerves gradually mended.
The members of the Dark Races looked on with obvious displeasure as Cain took these medicines.
Letting him recover was the last thing they wanted, especially now that his position in this uneasy standoff was so dominant.
Yet, just as some seemed ready to charge forward and interrupt his healing, they noticed how Cain’s grip on the Atrox’s skull grew visibly tighter.
The threat was clear: if they made a move, Leorio-still in Cain’s clutches-would be the first to die.
Golten gritted his teeth in frustration.
He recognized that Cain would kill Leorio without hesitation if he pushed any further.
Ultimately, he exhaled slowly and gave a curt nod, signaling for the others in his faction to stand down.
Reluctantly, they complied, opting to remain vigilant but stationary.
In the meantime, they also turned their attention to their own wounds, applying salves and ingesting restorative herbs.
Elrick and the rest of Lady Azure’s group did the same, seizing the chance to recover.
They all understood that time favored them; the more they healed, the better their chances if the confrontation reignited.
In addition, this open courtyard within the Sky Sovereign Tomb served as a relatively safe resting place.
Unlike the perilous walkways, the ground here did not threaten to burn their flesh.
At last, after half an hour, Cain’s eyes snapped open.
He coughed up a mouthful of thick, dark blood as his body purged the remnants of internal injuries, then exhaled deeply.
A rush of renewed vitality coursed through him.
“Those pills alone probably cost more than five Divine Transcendence weapons,” Cain murmured, clenching and unclenching his fists as he tested his restored strength.
“They might revive a man from the brink of death so long as he still draws breath.
No wonder they worked so well on me.” A faint smile flickered across his face, but the moment of self-congratulation ended almost as quickly as it began.
His gaze turned cold and resolute as he shifted his attention to the Dark Races.
Across the platform, Golten and the rest of the Eclipse School cultivators exchanged tense looks.
They assumed battle stances, adopting solemn expressions.

All of them understood the precariousness of their current situation: now that Cain had healed, they were at a far more significant disadvantage if a direct clash erupted.
Meanwhile, Elrick, Auron, Mary, and the other warriors from Lady Azure’s group huddled together.
A similar chilling readiness emanated from them.
They were clearly weighing the possibility of launching a coordinated attack on the Dark Races.
By eliminating Golten’s group, they could seize all their belongings-and then, with Leorio still in Cain’s clutches, they could demand a hefty ransom. Elrick seemed barely able to contain his avarice.
He glanced at Cain as though silently urging him to strike first, to open the way for a full assault.
But when Cain met his gaze, there was no complicity or agreement in his eyes-only boredom.
With a small shake of his head, Cain made it plain that he had no intention of furthering Elrick’s ambitions.
Disregarding Elrick and the others entirely, Cain fixed his stare on Golten, who stood guard over his wounded comrades.
“I will let you take your two injured-Leorio and the Hell Clan woman-and leave the tomb,” Cain said, his voice calm but unyielding, “but I will keep their space rings.” A ripple of surprise passed through the Eclipse School cultivators.
His demand was abrupt but far more lenient than they had expected.
Considering how the fight had gone and their precarious situation, losing two space rings was a very small price to pay for their companions’ lives.
No sooner had Cain spoken than Elrick’s voice resounded across the square, laced with fury.
“Cain!
What are you doing?” he snarled, eyes nearly bulging from his head.
“How can you just let them walk away like that?
We captured the son of a Prima Deity!
Do you have any idea what he’s worth?
A fortune!” Cain swiveled to face Elrick, and the disdain in his expression was palpable.
“We?” he repeated, letting out a cold, humorless laugh.
“I captured this man by myself.
You stood by and did nothing-so you have no say in what happens to him now.
If you want to keep fighting, go right ahead.
But don’t expect me to help you pile up more injuries.
I won’t risk my life for your greed, so you’ll be on your own.” Elrick froze at those words, his face contorting with a mix of rage and frustration.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew that going up against the Eclipse School without Cain’s support was foolish.
Even if they managed to scrape out a victory, it would almost certainly be pyrrhic, leaving them too weakened to face the dangers lurking deeper in the Sky Sovereign Tomb.
Unable to deny the logic of Cain’s statement, Elrick could only seethe in silence.
The rancor he felt toward Cain grew more potent with every breath, and it was obvious that the rest of Lady Azure’s group was also unhappy with how matters were unfolding.
Cain’s unilateral decision clashed with their hunger for wealth and power.
Golten, on the other hand, looked more perplexed than ever.
He could not fathom why Cain would risk antagonizing his own allies by letting the Eclipse School go free.
All the same, Golten wasn’t about to question his good fortune.
The only thing that mattered now was removing Leorio and Amara from this hellish tomb before the situation worsened.
Their prime directive was to ensure everyone’s survival.
So he inclined his head toward Cain.
“We will not forget this,” Golten said, his voice tight with suppressed tension.
“You have my word that we will leave without any further hostility.” He kept his face as neutral as possible, trying to suppress any flicker of relief that might betray him.
Cain gave a short nod in return and wasted no time removing the space rings from Leorio and Amara.
He was almost certain that the rings contained valuable resources, perhaps even rare artifacts.
Once he had the rings, Cain waved his hand, sending Leorio’s limp figure and the wounded Hell Clan woman sliding across the scorched ground.
Golten rushed forward to catch them, flanked by two of his companions who stood ready with healing potions and supportive spells.
