The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1490
Chapter 1490: Great fortune Chapter 1490: Great fortune Cain had noticed the dark box earlier but had not given it much thought.
However, as he carefully directed his mind into the container, his eyes widened with surprise.
Within it, Cain perceived a majestic dark-red cape, adorned with countless tendrils seemingly woven from Fire Star Power and inscribed with billions of runes symbolizing the Law of Fire.
The aura of this cape was eerily similar to that of the fiery crown he had just obtained, causing Cain’s eyes to glimmer with newfound insight.
“So this was the treasure of the fiery roads,” Cain murmured to himself, reflecting on his journey through the Sky Sovereign Tomb.
At every major challenge he had encountered so far, Cain had acquired a unique treasure-except during his crossing of the fiery road.
For a while, he had assumed no treasure existed there or that he had failed to meet some hidden requirement.
But the truth was more straightforward: the Atrox, Leorio, had acquired the cape first and locked it away in his space ring.
In a stroke of good fortune, it now belonged to Cain.
A broad smile curved across his lips as he gazed at this new prize.
Carefully, he branded the cape with his Ego Wave, probing its construction and function.
In a matter of moments, the true nature of the artifact revealed itself.
“An energy reservoir capable of replenishing Fire Star Power,” Cain noted, “and fueling spells that rely on the Law of Fire.” This cape held enormous value for someone like Cain, whose Astral Rebirth Path of Power focuses on Fiere Star Power.
It would not do much for his Essence Evolution Path of Power since he did not really focus on the Law of Fire.
Next, Cain turned his attention to the Fiery Crown he had seized from the convergence of magma veins and spilled blood.
After branding it with his Ego Wave, he felt a new wave of enlightenment flood his senses.
“This crown also houses Fire Star Power and Fire Laws,” he thought, “but instead of acting as an energy reserve, it augments my fire-based attacks.” His eyes glowed with excitement.
Not only did he possess a reliable source of Fire Star Power in the form of the cape, but now he also had the means to amplify his offensive capabilities.
“Excellent.
These two World Treasures are just as powerful as my Fallen Archangel Battle Set,” Cain mused, “and they don’t interfere with each other, so I can use them simultaneously!” A wave of exhilaration washed over him as he mentally added these items to his ever-growing arsenal.
He could already envision the synergy they would provide in future confrontations, especially in a realm dominated by fire and heat.
Satisfied with his discoveries, Cain took a few moments to consider the other treasures he had collected in the tomb.
He recalled two codexes-tomes containing deep insights into Fire Star Power and the Law of Fire.
These manuals promised profound benefits, though he lacked the time to delve into them right now.
His thoughts then drifted to a coffin he had acquired within the Shadow Labyrinth.
A slight frown flickered across his face.
That coffin was not a recognized World Treasure; it resisted his attempts to brand it, and when he used his spiritual perception to inspect its interior, he found it empty.
No corpse, no hidden compartments-nothing.
It felt deeply enigmatic.
“I’ll need to investigate it further,” Cain told himself, “but right now is not the moment.” Lastly, Cain remembered the Fire Pearl he had claimed from the Giant Burning Golem.

He sensed an incredibly pure and concentrated flame energy at its core, which could be used to nurture either his Rebirth Heart or his Inner World.
However, he had a different objective in mind.
“This energy is perfect for practicing the second level of the Indestructible Herculean Body,” he thought, recalling the technique’s name: Herculean Bastion.
He had not forgotten about the advanced technique but had put it aside primarily because its training requirements were notoriously high.
To reach the second level, one had to integrate Star Power and the energy of the Laws into every cell of the body.
Until now, Cain had lacked any suitable source of energy potent enough to jump-start this intense transformation.
“Of course, I can’t start training that here,” Cain reasoned, “and the Fire Pearl alone won’t get me all the way to the second level, but it’s a crucial first step.” Even that realization was enough to make him smile radiantly.
When he thought about how much he had gained-Fiery Cape, Fiery Crown, Fire Pearl, and other hidden possibilities-he felt elated.
And there was still the core of the tomb, which likely concealed even more breathtaking treasures.
Eager to make the most of every moment, Cain took a deep breath and guided the healing energies from his medicinal pills through his body.
Simultaneously, he silently invoked the Concept of Life to accelerate his recovery from wounds inflicted by the tomb’s brutal trials.
He was on the verge of diving into deeper cultivation when a brusque voice echoed within his mind.
“Brat, hold your horses.
Do you still plant to work with the people from the Night Prince’s faction?” The speaker was Apex.
Furrowing his brow, Cain nodded as though to acknowledge a physical presence.
“Yes, what’s the problem?” he asked mentally.
“The problem is that they’re definitely not anywhere close to this place,” Apex said, sounding faintly exasperated.
“You’re forgetting that not everyone can do what you do.” “Brat, think about it,” Apex pressed.
“How long would it have taken Elrick and his lackeys to reach this area if they hadn’t had you to guide them?
It’s not likely the Night Prince’s group is much better prepared.” A sudden understanding dawned on Cain.
He had assumed the Night Prince’s faction might appear at any moment because he had reached this region of the tomb relatively swiftly.
But Apex was correct; they would definitely take a while to reach this place.
“Right.
I guess I overestimated them,” Cain admitted inwardly.
A fleeting smile crossed his lips.
The idea that the Night Prince’s group might be struggling in the tomb’s earlier layers changed his perspective.
It suggested he shouldn’t waste precious time waiting around for them.
“The communication crystal should alert me when they’re in position, anyway,” Cain thought, recalling the magic device meant to coordinate him with the Night Prince’s faction.
“But it seems that won’t happen soon.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Redsunworld Special shoutout to Jayscribe.
