The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1491
Chapter 1491: Sky Sovereign’s corpse (I) Chapter 1491: Sky Sovereign’s corpse (I) Cain understood he needed to buy time for the Night Prince’s elite team, so he deliberately delayed his visible healing.
At least, that was how it looked on the surface.
In reality, he was carefully circulating the medicinal power of the pills and his Concept of Life throughout his internal organs.
Only his skin remained untreated, retaining the appearance of being battered and wounded.
Thus, although his body was healing rapidly within, there were still open wounds visible from the outside-effectively deceiving everyone else into believing he had yet to recover.
As the hours crept by, Elrick, Auron, Mera, and the Deus Behemoth Brothers channeled their efforts into expelling the toxic energies the Demonic Hounds had left inside their bodies.
Once they had purged those poisons, they worked on restoring their exhausted vitality.
Little by little, they inched closer to peak condition, bridging the gap that had been imposed by the tomb’s radiation.
By the time an entire day and night had passed, they had completely healed themselves.
Their vitality was at its peak, and their soul force and energy pool radiated overwhelming power.
Now that they were free from the tomb’s stifling radiation, they could draw upon the full might of their Peak Divine Transcendence Cultivation, allowing their energies to surge with renewed vigor.
Small, confident smiles were etched onto their faces.
Elrick, in particular, felt a resurgence of power coursing through his veins.
However, when he turned to look at Cain, he found himself unable to hide his puzzlement.
For someone who had previously demonstrated such remarkable regenerative abilities, Cain’s current condition was perplexing.
His body still appeared riddled with wounds-deep gashes, charred flesh, and half-healed burns.
“It seems the lack of radiation affected him more than we anticipated,” Elrick mused, a cold satisfaction creeping into his expression.
A nasty smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
He was delighted to see the once-mighty Cain seemingly brought low.
Not one to waste an opportunity and kick an opponent down, Elrick stood and took a few confident strides toward the young man.
“What is taking you so long?” Elrick demanded in a harsh tone.
“Are you going to make us wait forever?” The disdain and derision in his voice were impossible to miss.
Auron, Mera, and the Deus Behemoth Brothers remained silent, watching the exchange with an air of superiority.
They, too, noticed Cain’s battered look and figured he had lost some of the advantage he once possessed.
Cain slowly opened his eyes, regarding them all with an unreadable expression.
Internally, he felt no sense of urgency.
Thanks to his controlled healing, his internal organs and deeper tissues were already in excellent shape, and none of his superficial wounds indeed hindered his combat capabilities.
Yet he hadn’t received a signal from the Night Prince’s team, which meant he still had a reason to stall.
In the end, the only thing that Elrick and the other received was a mocking smile.
When Cain finally spoke, his voice carried a sharp edge.

“If you’re in such a hurry, you can go on without me.
I’m not holding you back.
I’m sure you’ll be able to handle any puzzles or threats that lie ahead.” Surprise flickered in Elrick’s eyes.
A hint of embarrassment washed over his features as Auron, Mera, and the two Deus Behemoth Brothers all looked at him expectantly.
There was an unspoken challenge in the air: if Elrick wished to pressure Cain, then Elrick would have to lead the group, charting the unknown passages of the Sky Sovereign Tomb by himself.
Conflicting emotions crossed Elrick’s face.
He had assumed that now, with his full power restored, he would no longer be at Cain’s mercy.
But Cain’s retort forced him to face a harsher reality: the myriad hidden puzzles, illusions, and labyrinthine routes in the tomb demanded extremely high perception or specialized knowledge.
Elrick did not trust himself-or any of the others, for that matter-to match Cain’s cunning and problem-solving ability.
“Hmph,” he muttered, before gritting his teeth and dropping back onto the ground.
Although he said nothing more, his refusal to go on without Cain was loud and clear.
Mera, Auron, and the Deus Behemoth Brothers likewise kept their silence.
Initially, they had allowed Cain to do all the navigation, and none had taken the time to study how he was solving the tomb’s obstacles.
Depending on him had become their routine-and a crutch.
Now that they faced the prospect of forging ahead alone, they realized how ill-prepared they were.
Cain regarded the group with a small, satisfied smile.
The potential conflict had been defused as quickly as it had flared, and he was free to continue his patient waiting.
Letting his eyes drift shut, he feigned deep concentration on “healing his wounds,” all while turning his mental focus to a different matter.
Deep within his consciousness, Cain accessed the [A.I.

His plan was to analyze the outcome of a direct confrontation with the five cultivators if they all decided to attack him together.
His mind flickered with countless images in the space of a few heartbeats.
The simulations sped by at a breakneck pace-analyzing battle sequences, measuring tactics, predicting how each cultivator might react under pressure, and factoring in environmental hazards.
The result was a complex web of probabilities culminating in a final summary: [Simulation Complete.
Chance of Victory (Accepting Serious Injuries): 77% Chance of Victory With Entire Enemy Team Killed: 12% Chance of Defeat: 23% Chance of Defeat and Death: 2.5%] Those numbers glowed in Cain’s mind.
While a 77% chance of victory was significant, there was also a 23% risk that he would lose and a 3.5% chance that this defeat would end in his death.
“It appears I need the Night Prince’s team more than I thought,” Cain conceded inwardly, feeling a twinge of annoyance.
Even though he was confident in his capabilities, Elrick and the others truly were formidable cultivators when they recovered to their Peak Divine Transcendence states-especially if they combined their strengths against him.
