The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1517
Chapter 1517: Preparation for the ultimate fight (I) Chapter 1517: Preparation for the ultimate fight (I) Cain and the Sky Sovereign conversed in hushed tones, and from the shifting expression on the ancient phantom’s face, it was clear that Cain’s latest plan was truly astonishing.
Of course, it was impossible to know whether the reaction of the Sky Sovereign was due to the idea being brilliance beyond imagination or bad shit insane.
At first, the Sky Sovereign resisted the idea, shaking his head at the sheer audacity.
Yet, upon witnessing the unyielding determination and cold resolve in Cain’s eyes, he found himself compelled to relent.
“Very well,” the Sky Sovereign finally said, “but we should treat that as an ultimate trump card.
If fortune is on our side, we might never need to use it.” Cain nodded, recognizing the man’s reluctance.
“I’m not eager to use it myself,” he admitted.
The risk was astronomical-there was a high probability he would lose his life even if that plan were executed to perfection.
Even so, circumstances demanded that he keep every possible option open.
After a short pause, Cain pressed on.
“What other runic formations could you supply for the coming fight?
I need to know exactly what you can offer so I can organize the rest of my preparations.” The Sky Sovereign’s phantom eyes darkened with recollection.
“In my prime, I was a Prima Runic Master.
However, due to the damage to my soul, I can only craft Half-Step Prima Runes now.
Those will certainly be strong enough to kill Peak Divine Transcendence Masters, but they’ll be of little use against a Prima Deity.” Cain appreciated the honesty.
There would be no false guarantees about runic might capable of shattering cosmic boundaries.
Nonetheless, the Sky Sovereign’s following words sparked fresh interest.
“That said, if we utilize my Echo Runic Formations, we might just bridge that gap.” A flicker of curiosity lit up Cain’s gaze.
“Echo Runic Formations?” The Sky Sovereign’s eyes glowed with pride.
“They’re my own invention, a method for bonding multiple artifacts, treasures, or magical constructs of a similar nature.
The formations link them in a kind of chain reaction, causing each piece to empower its predecessor, thus creating an exponentially more potent effect.
The result is monstrous.” Yet, as he reached this point, the ancient phantom’s voice grew troubled.
“Unfortunately, I’m not sure whether we’ll be able to obtain enough compatible treasures to pull it off.
The synergy required is quite strict.” Cain remained silent for a few seconds, his expression thoughtful.
Then he smiled faintly and raised both hands, opening a gateway to his spatial ring.
The Sky Sovereign felt a ripple of confusion until, a moment later, his eyes widened in genuine shock.
Before him, a veritable sea of treasures appeared: orbs, weapons, crystals, gems-dozens upon dozens.
Their natures varied, but each radiated a powerful, malevolent aura.
“Are these suitable?” Cain asked.
He had initially intended to sacrifice all these evil artifacts to his Samsara Flame in hopes of upgrading his Royal Rebirth Mark and possibly obtaining a new Gift.

However, after learning of the Sky Sovereign’s Echo Runic Formations, he decided a more direct use of these items might be wiser.
Banking on chance seemed far less reliable than forging guaranteed offensive or defensive advantages.
The Sky Sovereign let out a stunned laugh.
“Hahaha!
These will be perfect.
With this many fiendish treasures, I can create some exceptionally powerful Echo Runic Formations!” The tension in the air lessened, each man feeling that their odds of surviving the impending crisis had improved, if only a little.
As they spoke, Cain’s mind was already racing through other strategies and resources at his disposal.
Every second might prove critical, and he intended to waste none.
After several minutes of intense thought, Cain’s eyes flashed with a decisive light.
“We need to leave this place,” he announced.
Without further explanation, he approached the massive, entombed Sky Sovereign’s corpse.
Using The Flow, Cain carefully adjusted the radiation surging from the Tier 9 Astral Supremacy Star hidden in the heart, keeping it contained so it would not overwhelm him or alert others.
Then, in a display of formidable strength, he lifted the colossal corpse and flew off into the air.
The Sky Sovereign’s phantom lingered within the Soul Dimension, but Cain could sense the ancient being’s concern.
They both understood the risk involved in leaving their remote arctic hideaway.
Yet Cain had reasons for taking the gamble.
For one, the Karmic Seal was still blocked, and searching for a single individual across the vast Everlife Continent would be an immense undertaking-even for a Third Realm powerhouse.
Moreover, relocating to a new, more strategically advantageous site might grant Cain valuable resources or opportunities.
For half a day, he soared across the sky, the biting wind whistling around him.
Eventually, Cain’s gaze sharpened as he descended into a dense forest.
This woodland was not meant to be their final battleground-merely a temporary stop.
Below, he sensed signs of conflict.
A Divine Transformation Atrox was marching through the forest, hunting a group of Divine Ascension Deus Behemoths.
Such skirmishes were hardly unusual along the contested border between the Gu Sect and the Eclipse School.
Usually, Cain wouldn’t bother to intervene; he had no way of knowing which side might be in the right or wrong.
Perhaps the Deus Behemoths had harmed the Atrox’s family, or maybe the Atrox simply despised them out of xenophobia.
Given the trouble he currently faced, Cain would have let them settle their own affairs.
Yet this time, he acted.
The Atrox never sensed Cain’s approach.
One moment, he was flashing forward; the next, he felt a phantom presence at his back.
Before he could even cry out, Cain placed a hand on the back of his neck, and a demonic, winged serpent sank its fangs into his flesh.
Waves of psychic energy coursed through the Atrox’s body, congregating around his heart as a Leviathan Shadow anchored itself in place.
The entire process concluded in a matter of seconds.
When Cain released his grip, the Atrox collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
