The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1519
Chapter 1519: Preparations for the ultimate fight (III) Chapter 1519: Preparations for the ultimate fight (III) Cain’s eyes narrowed as he heard the Sky Sovereign’s mention of igniting one’s Alter-Ego for power.
He turned to look at Leviathan, the demonic winged snake that had come into existence after enduring countless tribulations, both mental and physical, with a conflicted expression.
Consuming one’s life force or even soul force was a possibility Cain had resorted to multiple times during the Dark Sky War, and he had many ways to fix the damage, yet burning his will itself was an entirely different matter.
After all, the Alter-Ego represented the embodiment of his memories, personality, and ego.
One could argue it was an even more quintessential aspect of him than his soul force.
Yet, in the face of impending death, there was no method too extreme if it offered even the slimmest chance of survival.
Still, as Cain weighed the idea, a sharp light flickered in his eyes.
He turned his focus to the Sky Sovereign’s phantom form floating in his Soul Dimension.
“If I burn my Alter-Ego,” Cain asked in a measured tone, “wouldn’t that mean leaving my Soul Dimension empty-opening the door for anyone to possess my body?” The Sky Sovereign’s gaze narrowed at the question.
After a moment of silence, the ghostly figure offered a small smile.
“That’s correct.
If you truly burned your Alter-Ego to its limit, possession would become child’s play for someone like me.
That is, assuming whoever placed this golden halo around me doesn’t decide to kill me first.” There was no feigned ignorance in his voice; he openly confirmed Cain’s suspicions.
While the Sky Sovereign appeared cooperative for now-bound by their shared predicament-he certainly had motives of his own.
Cain sighed but did not seem particularly shaken by the phantom’s candor.
They had known each other for less than a week, so it was foolish to expect unwavering loyalty or trust.
The Sky Sovereign was assisting him only because circumstances forced his hand; that the ancient being still harbored other ambitions was almost inevitable.
“Go on,” Cain said briskly, “teach me the method.” The Sky Sovereign watched him for a few seconds, expecting a threat or a warning.
However, Cain acted as if the potential for betrayal was a triviality he could address later.
Seeing this, the phantom shook his head and extended a tiny stream of soul force, laden with the knowledge of this extreme technique.
Cain accepted the information and spent a few breaths analyzing it.
Although powerful, the method was not overly complicated, and with his advanced mental faculties, he absorbed it fairly quickly.
After integrating the knowledge of Will Sublimation, Cain shot a questioning look at the Sky Sovereign, wondering if there were other techniques or secret arts the ancient being might share.
The phantom merely shook his head.
It was impossible to know whether he was telling the truth, but Cain did not press the issue.
Instead, he waved his hand, causing three items to materialize within his Soul Dimension: the Fiery Cape, the Fiery Crown, and a mysterious coffin originally retrieved from the Shadow Labyrinth.
Cain had already used the [A.I.
Chip Module] to scan the artifacts and found nothing overtly suspicious.
However, knowing that they were once the property of someone who had been at the Third Realm, he realized his System’s scans might not be foolproof.
“Anything I should know before I fuse with these?” he asked, fixing his gaze on the Sky Sovereign.

The Sky Sovereign seemed slightly surprised to see that Cain had managed to claim the tomb’s most significant treasures.
Still, the phantom quickly rallied and raised his left hand, conjuring three glowing seals.
Each seal flew toward one of the artifacts, merging with them.
At once, the items began to tremble, and a telltale crack rang through the air.
“They each contained hidden sealing runes,” the Sky Sovereign explained.
“I would have been able to seal the body and energy of anyone that used them, making possession much easier.
Now that those runes are gone, you can safely use these items.” Cain acknowledged with a nod, then turned his attention to the coffin.
Even now, he was still oblivious to its use and nature. “So, what exactly is this coffin?” he asked.
The Sky Sovereign paused, appearing somewhat perplexed.
“I never fully understood its nature, but I discovered it possessed a peculiar effect.
Once inside, you’ll be bombarded by phenomena involving shadows and space-time-extremely beneficial for the Shooting Star Dragon Cultivation Technique.
Although fire is the technique’s primary Law, it also integrates supplementary Laws like Space-Time and Shadows.
Using the coffin can rapidly hone those aspects.” Despite his willingness to explain, the Sky Sovereign’s voice carried a hint of confusion, suggesting even he wasn’t entirely sure of the coffin’s origins.
Cain tilted his head in mild surprise; the coffin’s capabilities sounded intriguing, though he decided it was not an immediate priority.
His mastery of Space-Time Laws was already high, and while his practice of the Shadow Law had lagged somewhat, he’d assimilated the memories and insights of a Peak Divine Transcendence Anima who specialized in that domain not too long ago.
Adding to that, he had fed the man’s Inner World into his World Tree Sapling, thus accelerating his assimilation of those Laws.
“It will be useful,” Cain observed, “but not right away.
I can make quicker progress with my current knowledge base.” With that resolved, Cain floated in midair, adopting a meditative posture.
He took a deep breath, inhaling a stream of Soul Enlightenment Mist from within the Second Layer.
This luminous fog cleared his mind, allowing him to enter a state of absolute mental clarity.
His thoughts crystallized, and he began prioritizing his objectives.
First, he needed to refine his cultivation through the Shooting Star Dragon Cultivation Technique to unify Astral Origin and Essence Origin into a singular force before the impending battle.
Second was to evolve his Genetic Coding and Tribulation Enhancement abilities since they would play a crucial role in the future clash.
After that, Cain searched for other methods that could improve his strength in a short time, but the only one that appeared to his mind was the Indestructible Herculean Technique.
