Chapter 1626: Devouring Anark’s corpse
Instead of being vaporized, the explosion of the enormous mutated psychic entity birthed millions upon millions of tiny insects. These strange creatures radiated an unbearable and primal hunger, and their predatory eyes immediately locked onto the paralyzed cultivators.
Without a single moment of hesitation, the insects lunged forward like a living storm, piercing through the cultivators’ flesh and burrowing deep until they reached the hearts of their helpless victims.
If the genetic alterations previously triggered by Cain’s blood cells had been agonizing, this new invasion was nothing less than a nightmarish torment.
They devoured their victims mercilessly from the inside out, feeding on their flesh, blood, and spirits to nourish the soul fragments of Anark embedded within each tiny insect. The cultivators’ eyes bulged with indescribable pain; their minds desperately screamed in silent torment, yet they remained unable to move or express even the faintest cry due to Cain’s overpowering mental suppression.
Unlike the millions of Dark Army cultivators drowning in suffering, Cain felt immense relief. A satisfied smile formed on his face, washing away the persistent nausea and overwhelming exhaustion that had plagued him since he first contained Anark’s immense soul. He breathed deeply, savoring the renewed clarity and strength surging throughout his body.
Cain turned his gaze upon the nearly fourteen million doomed cultivators and casually waved his hand. Instantly, the entire group vanished, transferred directly into his Inner World.
Although holding Anark’s complete soul in his Inner World had proven impossible due to its sheer magnitude, matters changed significantly now that the soul was split and safely encapsulated within these newly prepared vessels.
Cain glanced around the massive underground cavern, the former hidden stronghold of the rebellious Dark Army, and clenched his fist.
“RUMBLE!!
With this single decisive gesture, the entire subterranean structure collapsed instantly. Immense cracks spread like lightning across walls and pillars, causing the surrounding ocean’s pressure to crash inward violently, burying all traces of the hidden location beneath countless tons of water and debris.
As the cavern shattered and collapsed, Cain vanished without a trace, teleporting swiftly through space.
In the next instant, he reappeared high above Hyperion, the homeland continent of Aether’s Deus Behemoth Race. He stared downward, specifically toward Amazon—or more precisely, the hidden dimension inside it containing the colossal corpse of Anark himself.
Now that Anark’s soul was securely transferred from Cain’s Soul Dimension and he could use all his power, it was finally time to devour the massive Primordial corpse. However, a significant issue arose immediately in Cain’s mind.
“System,” Cain asked firmly, “is there a viable way to consume the Sacred Bloodline Realm and Anark’s corpse without harming the floating city itself?”
Ideally, Cain wished to preserve the floating capital city, Amazon, avoiding unnecessary damage. Yet, as he suspected, the system’s mechanical and impassive reply quickly dashed that hope.
[The floating city is directly sustained by the energy radiating from the Sacred Bloodline Realm and the corpse of Primordial Anark. If either is damaged or removed, the city will immediately collapse.]
Cain couldn’t help but sigh softly upon hearing the system’s cold, robotic explanation. He briefly felt frustration rising but quickly composed himself.
His eyes sharpened resolutely as he swiftly devised an alternative solution. With a surge of energy, Cain instantly constructed a colossal platform beneath the floating city. Countless sturdy staircases appeared, connecting every street and neighborhood directly to this new platform.
The inhabitants of Amazon initially panicked, utterly stunned by the sudden and unexplained construction. Before their confusion turned into chaos, Cain’s mighty Ego Wave flooded across the city, calming their emotions and firmly implanting his command into their minds.
“Everyone, exit the city in an orderly fashion and gather upon the newly formed platform immediately.”
Cain’s voice echoed clearly in the minds of every living being within the floating capital. Whether they were powerful cultivators, ordinary citizens, small children, or even animals, all ceased their activities instantly and obediently moved toward the platform beneath the city, calmly following the staircases provided.
After several hours, Cain patiently verified that every man, woman, child, animal, and even insect had safely evacuated. Only when he was entirely sure that no living being remained behind in Amazon did he proceed.
Taking a long, deep breath to steady himself, Cain’s eyes blazed intensely, erupting with crimson flames brighter and hotter than a blazing sun. Instantly, an immense scarlet gate appeared, spanning the entire sky, overshadowing not just Amazon, but the entirety of the Hyperion continent itself!
Across Hyperion, every sentient being who glimpsed the imposing presence of the Scarlet Throne gate trembled involuntarily. Overwhelmed by primal awe and reverence, they instinctively lowered their heads, bowing in deep submission without daring to raise their gaze.
Cain waved his hand decisively, and slowly the scarlet gate split open, revealing the mysterious interior of the Scarlet Throne. Immediately, an unstoppable, overwhelming devouring force erupted outward from within the opened gate. Fortunately for Hyperion’s citizens, this terrifying consuming power focused exclusively on the now-abandoned city of Amazon.
Even though the floating capital had stood proud for millennia, it could offer no meaningful resistance against the Scarlet Throne’s irresistible power. An invisible, immeasurable force enveloped the floating city, forcibly drawing it into the gate’s waiting maw. Within moments, Amazon vanished completely into the Scarlet Throne dimension.
As the massive gate sealed shut and faded from the sky, Cain’s consciousness moved inward, instantly appearing within the Scarlet Throne dimension itself.
Cain observed with fascinated amazement as the dimension swiftly devoured Amazon, cracking open the sealed Sacred Bloodline Realm, fully revealing Anark’s corpse.
“Amazing,” Cain whispered breathlessly as he beheld the Primordial’s immense remains. Its enormous bulk stretched unimaginably far, nearly spanning the entire internal world of the Scarlet Throne.
Its flesh and muscles gleamed with a unique, otherworldly luster, appearing as if forged from a mysterious cosmic alloy, unlike anything Cain had ever witnessed.

“Less than fifty years ago, using the air within the Primordial corpse’s lungs had felt like the greatest fortune of my life,” Cain murmured to himself. “Now, here I stand, prepared to devour every last trace.”
A strange, contemplative smile arose on Cain’s lips as he began the assimilation process.
