The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1638
Chapter 1638: Pation
Cain rose into the sky, making no attempt to conceal the extensive wounds he had sustained, yet his gaze remained cold and unwavering as he stared directly at Karter and Lancer.
The two Third Realm Masters could not suppress the chilling sensation of fear that crawled down their spines. Even with severe burns and the noticeable hole in his stomach, Cain’s overwhelming aura and the dreadful pressure he emitted had not diminished in the slightest.
Without hesitation, Cain extended his hand toward the dark sphere that acted as the core of the Dominion Eclipse Core. Responding instantly to his call, the dark sphere rapidly flew toward him, swiftly absorbing the expansive domain it had unleashed.
Before the astonished eyes of Karter, Lancer, and millions of cultivators safely protected within the Gu Sect, Cain swallowed the dark sphere in one smooth motion. Immediately afterward, his body erupted into brilliant scarlet flames.
Shock, awe, and profound fear filled the faces of Karter and Lancer as they watched these flames swiftly regenerate the burnt and destroyed tissue. In less than thirty seconds, every injury inflicted on Cain had completely vanished, leaving him in pristine condition as if the battle had never occurred.
A satisfied, comfortable smile appeared on Cain’s lips as the profound vitality from the Concept of Life restored him fully.
The Dominion Eclipse Core had three essential functions: firstly, it weakened his enemies while enhancing Cain’s strength by seizing absolute control over surrounding energies and cosmic forces through sheer willpower. Secondly, it created an inescapable domain using overwhelming gravitational force, making it nearly impossible for foes to flee.
Lastly, and most importantly, it served as a powerful healing trump card. In dire emergencies, Cain could consume the core directly, harnessing all the energy accumulated during the battle as fuel to trigger the restorative power of the Concept of Life to a nearly unbelievable extent.
With his body and energy reserves again at their peak, Cain calmly glanced at the stunned Karter and Lancer. Then, with a smooth gesture, he summoned the Shooting Star Dragon Halberd into his right hand, causing his aura to explode outward with even greater intensity.
Seeing this display of power, Karter and Lancer unconsciously clenched their fists and instinctively stepped backward. Although the domain had disappeared, they had exhausted too much energy in the earlier exchanges. Running away remained utterly futile.
However, luckily for them, instead of launching another attack, Cain’s expression softened slightly, revealing a faint yet approving smile.
“I must admit, I am genuinely surprised,” Cain said slowly, his voice filled with rare appreciation. “You two are individually weaker than Marlin—that pathetic coward—yet through clever tactics, remarkable bravery, and extraordinary determination, you managed to wound me seriously and forced me to use one of my trump cards.”
Cain paused briefly, his smile widening slightly as he continued, “Your natural talent and raw battle power may only be average, but your relentless determination impresses me greatly. I will help you rise even higher once all of this is over.”
Hearing those unexpected words of praise and encouragement, both Karter and Lancer felt a deep sense of relief and satisfaction.
Neither had fully realized it, but their mindset had gradually shifted throughout the battle—from initially wanting to repel Cain’s invasion, then trying to escape from him, and finally, desperately fighting for the right to join him. Now, having earned Cain’s acknowledgment, they could not suppress a profound sense of pride and fulfillment.
Cain waved his hand, creating a small opening in the force field protecting the Gu Sect. His voice resonated powerfully, carrying authority and command: “Enter the sect and wait there until this matter is fully resolved.”
Confused momentarily by Cain’s instructions, Karter and Lancer quickly understood as they followed Cain’s penetrating gaze into the distant horizon.
Their eyes narrowed with realization, and after exchanging a silent, knowing glance, they immediately nodded to each other. Without delay, they swiftly entered the city, after which the force field promptly sealed shut again, fully isolating the sect from the outside world.
A tense silence enveloped the Gu Sect. The ordinary cultivators had no idea what was happening. Karter and Lancer had clearly submitted to Cain’s overwhelming strength, yet Cain remained suspended high in the sky, exuding an even more intimidating pressure.
Soon, the reason for Cain’s wariness became evident.
From the distant horizon, a powerful presence rapidly approached, revealing itself as a towering Inferno Daemon adorned in imposing black armor, wielding a massive bastard sword. The newcomer boasted the impressive muscular physique typical of the Abyssal Clan, yet his crimson skin and fierce eyes indicated mixed bloodline ancestry—the Hell Clan.
He was undoubtedly a hybrid Inferno Daemon and the intense waves of Star Power and powerful Laws emanating from his figure left no doubt: he had fully capitalized on his racial advantage, pushing both his cultivation paths into the formidable Third Realm.
Cain unconsciously tightened his grip on his halberd, his expression hardening as the newcomer’s appearance stirred memories of Horus. However, he refused to let these lingering emotions distract him. He needed to focus his full attention on this fight, as this opponent was no ordinary foe.
Standing before him was a genuine Third Realm Dual Cultivator, a being whose prowess, though currently at the Early Prima Deity stage, vastly surpassed both Karter and Lancer in terms of combat capability.
“He might be even stronger than Reverend Madness,” Cain thought, his eyes narrowing dangerously as he carefully scrutinized his opponent.
“You must be the last Third Realm Master of the Gu Sect—Pation,” Cain announced calmly, his voice echoing clearly across the battlefield.
Cain’s eyes glowed fiercely as he continued, “Unlike Marlin and the other two, you are notoriously reclusive, distancing yourself from daily sect activities. When I didn’t initially detect your presence, I assumed you had already abandoned this place. Instead, you’ve been watching quietly from the shadows all along.”
Pation remained silent for a moment, carefully assessing Cain with a penetrating gaze before finally responding coldly, “I don’t particularly care for this place—but it has its uses.”
Pation’s voice then grew colder as he raised his massive sword, causing it to ignite with ominous, dark energy. “But, more importantly,” he continued with menacing intensity, “I despise being ordered around.”
In the next instant, Pation unleashed his full might, simultaneously activating the immense power of both his Laws and Star Power. The entire sky quaked violently beneath the overwhelming surge of his power.
