Chapter 1658: Three vs one
Cain took a deep breath, and the red flames within his eyes glowed with heightened purity and intensity.

The Path of Conquest was never about restraint. It was about crushing every obstacle in your way, enduring all calamities, and emerging stronger—undisputed in your power. Overcoming those who once sought to destroy you wasn’t just revenge—it was a step forward. A marker of evolution.

As the energy of his Path surged within him, a faint but genuine smile touched Cain’s lips. He could feel it—his understanding and control over his own Path deepening. His potential expanding.

Cain was still at the Early Stage of the Mind and Body as One, but no shackles remained to restrain his growth. It was now only a matter of time, of effort, of cultivation, before he reached the Middle Stage.

While moving from Early to Middle might seem like a modest leap to outsiders, anyone who had set foot in the Third Realm understood the truth—every breakthrough, no matter how small, was monumental. Once one stepped into the Prima Deity Rank, progress came at a steep cost, and each step forward was carved from struggle, pain, and insight.

Silence reigned across the battlefield. Neither side dared make the next move. Even the army of the Gu Sect remained unsure of what would happen next. After all, the Golden Star Kingdom had surrendered Marlin, which had been Cain’s stated demand. Had the war ended with that?

Fortunately, Cain didn’t leave his people in suspense for long.

After a few quiet seconds, Cain’s gaze refocused with deadly clarity as he turned back toward the Golden Star King. His voice rang out, sharp and cold, cutting through the silence.

“You were wise to surrender Marlin. Now hand over the other traitor, pay the fine, and we will leave.”

“What!?” The Golden Star King’s voice rose in disbelief and outrage. His golden aura flickered violently as fury took hold. It had already been humiliating enough to hand over Marlin publicly—an act that had cost him dearly. Now Cain demanded even more?

“Who do you think you are!?” Makiela shouted furiously, her expression twisted in rage. Her power surged around her, golden light flashing through the air.

Cain remained unbothered. He simply stared at them with a small, patient smile.

“The Night Prince is also among you,” Cain continued. “So I want him turned over. And naturally, since your kingdom dared to harbor traitors from the Gu Sect, you owe compensation.”

He paused, glancing upward slightly as if calculating something in his mind. Then he nodded to himself.

“I’m feeling generous today, so let’s keep it simple. Two Third Realm Inheritances and fifty Cosmic Cubes. That will suffice.”

The Golden Star King, Makiela, and Arman froze in place, stunned.

Handing over the Night Prince wasn’t the most outrageous part—he was talented, yes, and a rare genius among Divine Transcendent Masters, but they had already sacrificed Marlin, a Prima Deity. Losing someone of a lower realm wouldn’t be too severe in comparison.

But the fine?

It was outright robbery.

A single Third Realm Inheritance was priceless. A complete system of knowledge, refined essence, and Law comprehension that took millions of years to form—it could elevate anyone from nothing to power in mere centuries. But two of them? And fifty Cosmic Cubes?

That was impossible.

Cosmic Cubes were condensed fragments of primordial chaos, harvested from the remnants of the Empyrean Worlds’ birth. They were among the rarest and most potent cultivation resources available to Third Realm Masters. Cain’s demand was beyond excessive.

In truth, Cain didn’t actually need the Cosmic Cubes. His [Gluttony Module] could provide far more energy and refinement than any external resource. But if he had asked only for the inheritances, the Golden Star King might have accepted.

Cain had come for war—and war he would have.

“Things are about to get interesting,” Cain thought, his eyes narrowing.

He could feel it—the rage boiling in the Golden Star King’s chest, the restrained killing intent in Makiela’s aura, and the sudden precision in Arman’s posture.

Cain couldn’t hear the telepathic conversation they were no doubt sharing, but The Flow revealed everything he needed to know—their emotions, their timing, their intent.

It all happened in a blink.

“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!”

One moment, the three Golden Star Kingdom masters stood in discussion. The next, a sudden explosion of force erupted from their position.

Cain moved instantly.

He blocked Arman’s spatial slash with his left forearm, red flames enveloping his limb. Simultaneously, he countered the Golden Star King’s punch with the force of the Shooting Star Dragon Halberd. At the same moment, golden chains raced toward him—Makiela’s attack—but Cain opened his mouth and expelled a violent burst of red flame that collided with and incinerated the bindings.

Pation, Lancer, and Karter flinched in surprise, their expressions darkening with awe. Cain had just defended himself against three Third Realm Masters at once—and each of them had struck without restraint.

But even as they prepared to charge in and support him, Cain’s voice echoed telepathically in their minds:

“Wait for my signal.”

The trio nodded and maintained their stance, channeling their energy, waiting for Cain’s command.

Cain remained standing, but his body trembled slightly. The spatial slash had nearly torn his left arm apart. His lungs burned from conjuring the breath attack, and his right arm still vibrated violently from parrying the Golden Star King’s divine punch.

On the outside, Cain looked calm. Inside, he was burning through his reserves at terrifying speed.

And then things escalated even further.

The energy towers and the central castle within the city began to glow ominously. Their internal energy circuits activated, empowering the battlefield.

Cain instantly felt the difference—the trio’s power surged exponentially as they absorbed the flowing energy from the city’s central formations. The pressure bearing down on him intensified.

But he did not yield.

“ARGHHH!” Cain roared, his body erupting with crimson flames. His muscles bulged, his bones crackled, and psychic rage surged through his veins as he pushed himself beyond his physical limits.

With a mighty surge, he broke through the pressuring force field of their combined attacks. His body tore through the air like a comet, rising rapidly into the sky.
