Chapter 1688: Adapt. Destroy. Survive
Those words filled the Divine Masters with a renewed sense of purpose and triumph as they began their work. They moved swiftly and efficiently, guided by the clarity of their orders and the drive of recent victory.

The Prima Deities, however, were not so easily stirred. Though they understood the importance of seizing the moment, their seasoned minds were already looking ahead.

They knew this was far from the end.

If anything, what came next would be even more brutal than the battle above the Sea of Misfortune. Now, they would have to venture deep into the heart of enemy territory—into a continent dominated by Divine Sea Heaven. There, the opposition would not only have the advantage of numbers, but also superior knowledge of the terrain, hidden fortifications, and possibly devastating traps lying in wait.

But none of that deterred the Prima Deities. If anything, it sharpened their focus. They fully understood how critical it was to establish a foothold in enemy territory. The battle might have been won, but dominion required roots, not just bloodshed.

With relentless effort and unwavering dedication, the Prima Deities and Divine Masters went to work. Within a single day, the entire shoreline of the Endlessdeath Continent was transformed into a strategic military zone, laced with arcane traps, barrier fields, and concealed kill zones.

But that was only the beginning.

As the days passed, a city began to emerge—rising from stone, steel, and soul-force. What began as a temporary camp quickly transformed into a fortified stronghold, and by the end of the month, a metropolis had risen from the shores—one that surpassed even the ancient Gu Sect in size and power.

The energy matrices and magic formations embedded into its foundations were so potent that, at full activation, they could obliterate or at least critically wound a Peak Prima Deity. The city, born of domination and necessity, now stood as a testament to Divine Calamity’s growing influence in foreign lands.

During construction, the Prima Deities from across the different continents under Divine Calamity Heaven’s banner began to interact, slowly growing more familiar with each other. While most remained closely tied to their racial factions, there was at least a growing sense of shared purpose—a unified front against the enemy.

But among them, one figure stood apart.

Cain.

He remained distant, and everyone noticed. Despite the growing camaraderie among others, Cain kept to himself. It wasn’t arrogance, nor was it disdain—it was strategy.

He was no fool.

Cain had demonstrated power that struck awe and fear into the hearts of both friend and foe. He was the only one to have killed a Prima Deity during the battle and displayed abilities that defied logic and understanding—hypnotic powers in his right eye, a mysterious scarlet gate, and most notably, the ability to seal Astral Supremacy Stars, something no other warrior had ever displayed.

Naturally, such abilities drew attention, and attention led to questions—questions Cain had no intention of answering.

It wasn’t pride that kept him isolated, but caution.

Cain held too many secrets, secrets that could attract the greed of even Divine Calamity himself. Not to mention that if he began drawing too much admiration or followers, it was only a matter of time before Divine Calamity’s son saw him as a threat. The best move was to remain shrouded in mystery, walking a fine line between silent power and careful detachment.

Even while remaining physically apart, Cain never stopped observing. His glowing eyes, ever infused with the power of The Flow, allowed him to read the emotions, desires, and intentions of the Prima Deities around him. He absorbed everything, even while quietly helping in the construction and refinement of the stronghold.

With the stronghold finished, the forces of Divine Calamity Heaven allowed themselves to rest. Andrew, Divine Calamity’s son, granted a full week of respite.

Then, without warning, the sky trembled with power as a summons echoed across the stronghold.

The time had come to march again.

The Prima Deities ascended into the sky like celestial warlords, while millions of Divine Masters assembled below in tightly coordinated military formations, all eyes fixed upon Andrew.

He stood tall and composed, his expression sharp and focused—a stark contrast to the manic glee he had displayed during battle. A solemn authority radiated from him as he addressed the army.

“From this point onward,” he declared, “we will divide into three factions, each based on your home continent.”

He gestured to his left. “Those from the Endlesslight Continent will follow Maria.”

A majestic figure stepped forward—the women from the Hell Clan, whose aura carry the power of blood and destruction. Her eyes glowed like stars, and all who beheld her—Prima Deities and Divine Ascension alike—bowed their heads in reverence.

Andrew turned to the right. “Those from the Everlife Continent will move with Zoro.”

The sky trembled as Zoro stepped forward, the towering Inferno Daemon with burning horns and an aura that radiated war. His mere presence caused even seasoned warriors to lower their gazes. None had forgotten the level of power the man had released in the battle above the Sea of Misfortune.

“And lastly,” Andrew concluded, “I will lead the warriors of the Shadowcradle Continent through the center.”

He scanned the army. “Our objective is simple: gain ground and eliminate any who resist our rule. How you accomplish this will depend on your formations and individual abilities. Adapt. Destroy. Survive.”

It was a strategic masterstroke. Rather than enforcing a rigid plan, Andrew had empowered his teams to adapt their tactics, maximizing their strengths and individual combat styles.

Cain nodded slightly as he and the warriors of Everlife Continent moved toward Zoro.

The Inferno Daemon studied them for a moment, his eyes sharp and discerning. When all Prima Deities had gathered before him, he spoke, voice deep and unyielding.

“My plan is simple,” Zoro said. “We advance as one unit. Any stronghold capable of Third Realm battle power or Prima Deity is to be eliminated immediately. Once the area is secure, we will send in the Divine Masters to claim the resources, treasures, and conduct thorough scans.”
