Chapter 1699: Lion of Babylon!
There was an immense killing intent behind each of Cain’s attacks. It certainly did not resemble a mere test—because it wasn’t one. Cain had received no command from Divine Calamity or Zoro regarding Black Sand. He had come here of his own volition, not to recruit, but to defeat, steal the man’s Inner Universe, and seal his soul within the Scarlet Throne.
His previous words had been nothing but a tactic, designed to mislead Black Sand, to lull him into a false sense of security and prevent him from immediately going all out. Cain had needed time to set the battlefield in his favor, and now, that time had come to an end.
Cain blasted Black Sand from one side of the desert to the other, the red flames swirling around the Shooting Star Dragon Halberd growing stronger and denser with every strike. His momentum built to a terrifying crescendo, until finally it reached its zenith.
“Final March!”
With a roar filled with primal rage that made his muscles bulge and the earth tremble beneath him, Cain swung the halberd downward.
All the energy he had gathered erupted into a massive arc of storm light, infused with the Concepts and Laws he had mastered, including the newly-formed Proto-Law of Tempering Flame.
The energy wasn’t just an attack anymore—it had condensed into a physical construct, harder and more indestructible than even a Prima Deity’s treasure.
Black Sand’s eyes widened in sheer horror as he saw the devastating arc of energy surging toward him. In that instant, he realized this was not a test—it was an execution.
But the realization came too late.
Black Sand, using every ounce of strength left within him, crossed his massive stone arms before his head and chest. Dozens of towering dunes rose from the desert, forging enormous sand shields to defend him.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!”
The resulting explosion shook the very heavens. The golden desert quaked as if in agony, the sheer impact sending shockwaves across thousands of kilometers. Black Sand was smashed downward with catastrophic force, crashing into the earth—but it did not end there.
Thanks to the Proto-Law’s influence, the arc of energy did not dissipate like normal attacks. It remained, relentlessly pressing down, burying Black Sand deeper and deeper into the ground. The sustained force shredded the defenses he had summoned, worsening his wounds with every passing second.
Finally, the arc exploded into a blinding storm of light and flame, tearing the desert apart.
Cain exhaled heavily, his chest rising and falling. That attack had drained a tremendous amount of energy. Fortunately, his [Gluttony Module] activated immediately, reinvigorating him. Pure energy flooded into every cell of his body, restoring his strength as he cast his gaze coldly toward Black Sand.
The ruler of Death Sand lay battered in a deep crater. His right arm was gone, his right shoulder obliterated, and a significant portion of his chest torn away. For most Prima Deities, such devastating injuries would spell the end of battle. But Black Sand was no ordinary being.
He had sacrificed everything—his flesh and blood—to attain his current form. Now, that sacrifice bore fruit.
With burning eyes filled with hate and defiance, he roared to the heavens:
“Liberación Total: Lion of Babylon!”
The golden desert surged, sand rushing toward Black Sand’s figure. His form shifted and expanded at an alarming rate. In an instant, he transformed into a primordial god-beast, forged from sand, storm, and time itself.
His new body was immense, dwarfing even mountains and entire cities. His flesh was living stone, his muscles woven from storm-forged sands, and his skin armored in thick bands of enchanted metal chains—remnants of an ancient era when divine beings had once tried, and failed, to bind him.
His face had become a terrifying sight: a lion-like visage combined with twisting, ram-like horns that curled upward like jagged spires. His golden eyes blazed with a fierce, eternal light. His mane, no longer hair, had become a raging sandstorm that spread across the sky. From his back sprouted immense, ancient bat-like wings, each beat of which stirred cyclones strong enough to shatter landscapes.
Wherever he breathed, deserts were born. Mountains of sand erupted and collapsed with his every step, reshaping the world beneath him.
Cain’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he watched Black Sand’s terrifying transformation. A flash of urgency crossed his face just as the robotic voice of the Absolute Life Form System echoed crisply in his mind.
[Two minutes and forty-five seconds until enemy Prima Deities arrive.]
Thanks to his extensive spy network of Scarlet Snakes, Cain knew the exact position of every Prima Deity currently stationed within the Endlessdeath Continent. And now, it seemed the earlier explosion had finally drawn their attention.
They were coming—and fast.
Cain exhaled once, steeling himself.
There was no time for restraint.
“Liberación Total: Leviathan!” he roared without hesitation.

In an instant, Cain’s form shifted, transcending mortal limits. His figure expanded, blocking out the sun and casting the desert into a chilling eclipse. The illusion shattered, revealing the draconic-serpentine form of the Lord of Conquest, Leviathan.
His new body twisted and roared with cosmic power, wrapped in shadowy scales that glowed faintly with runic light. Each movement of his wings stirred tsunamis of burning clouds, and his maw seemed capable of swallowing cities whole.
Without wasting another breath, Cain blasted forward, putting everything he had into offense. He had to end this fight now.
“ROOOOOAAAAARRRR!”
Black Sand, now the Lion of Babylon, unleashed a primal roar filled with hatred and defiance, lunging at Cain with full force. He no longer held anything back. This was now a battle of life and death, a battle where hesitation meant annihilation.
“BOOOOOOMMMMMM!”
The two titans clashed violently.
The impact sent shockwaves across the golden desert, flattening dunes, splitting mountains, and reshaping the land itself.
Claws met claws. Wings beat against wings. Fangs clashed with fangs.
It was a brutal, bloody collision of primal might and transcendent willpower. The very air around them cracked and screamed under the sheer force of their confrontation.
If not for the smooth, deadly arcs of the Shooting Star Dragon Halberd wielded by Cain, the clash would have seemed like a pure battle of beasts, each trying to devour the other.
