Chapter 1706: Open the treasury
Cain was ecstatic upon seeing the massive boost his physical stats received following the evolution of his Astral Rebirth Path of Power and the completion of the Indestructible Herculanean Technique.

His strength, agility, and vitality had all skyrocketed to levels that matched that of weak Prima Deities despite being only a Divine Transcendent Rank. However, as his eyes moved down the system interface, a solemn expression overtook his excitement.

His gaze fell on the one stat that had dropped: his Ego Wave.

The cost of using Will Sublimation and consuming the life essence of the Lord of Conquest Leviathan was not small.

Cain closed his eyes and projected his consciousness inward, into the Soul Dimension. There rested the massive draco-serpent. Lord of Conquest Leviathan’s normally radiant scales of astral black and flowing fire seemed dulled now, and though its colossal frame remained whole, there was a faint hollowness in the way it coiled.

“There is no visible damage,” Cain whispered, brows furrowing. “But I can feel how much weaker it’s become.”

He clenched his fists. The surge of power he had received was immense, but the damage to his Ego Wave had a measurable and deeply consequential impact.

“Despite all my progress, the weakening of my Alter-Ego reduced my total battle power by almost 20%.”

That was not a number Cain could afford to ignore.

Still, a smile returned to his face as he waved his hand. A flame of thirty-six distinct colors ignited within his palm. Without hesitation, Cain assumed a meditative stance in the sky and then sent the 36-Revolution Flame into the Soul Dimension.

As the divine flame wrapped itself around the weakened Leviathan, a cascade of world energy rushed through the serpent’s being. The flames penetrated the very core of the Alter-Ego, flooding it with nurturing force and restoring its vitality on an atomic and spiritual level.

Cain focused every iota of his consciousness on the task.

He had used the 36-Revolution Flame before and had developed a certain level of mastery over its delicate application. He was confident he would succeed in performing a Spirit Tribulation Enhancement with it and worst case scenario he would use the system.

However, even if he succeeded, Cain was aware, he wouldn’t be able to rely on the 36-Revolution Flame a second time. That meant that the next time Lord of Conquest Leviathan was hurt, he would not be able to fix it so easily.

But Cain was not worried.

He had already begun experimenting with flames bearing thirty-seven colors. Though he was still far from being able to fully wield its power, Cain believed it was only a matter of time.

While Cain immersed himself in the arduous process of healing Leviathan, something significant was happening far away—far beyond the Endlessdeath Continent.

…

In the heart of the vast metropolis that housed the Divine Calamity Heaven’s command center, Andrew stood silently before an enormous gate. Despite his vast power—enough to make a continent tremble—he remained utterly still, his expression a mixture of serenity and reverence.

He waited.

Finally, the great gates opened. In that instant, a tidal wave of cosmic pressure exploded outward.

Andrew, despite being a Peak Prima Deity, took an instinctive step back as space warped violently around him. He was among the most powerful entities of the Everstrife Empyrean World—but even he struggled to bear the force leaking from within that room.

Taking a deep breath, Andrew steadied his form, summoned his power, and stepped forward, pushing through the impossible pressure like a blade through cosmic fabric.

From the outside, the room appeared only a few dozen meters wide and no more than a hundred meters deep. But once inside, it transformed into an entire dimension—a reality of its own. Celestial bodies drifted through the void, moving as if alive.

At the center of this cosmos was a single entity.

Divine Calamity.

The sovereign of Divine Calamity Heaven hovered silently, his very presence distorting spacetime. Light itself bent unnaturally around him. He sat at the eye of a localized singularity—a living event horizon, a presence so dense that even thought seemed to bend around his form.

His eyes glowed with countless colors, each swirling with mysteries deeper than time and heavier than fate.

Andrew immediately bowed, lowering his head so deeply it nearly touched the ground. He did not dare speak.

Though Divine Calamity was his father, Andrew was no fool. He understood that his only value came from his power—not his bloodline. Sentiment had no place here.

After several moments of silence, Divine Calamity finally turned his ancient gaze toward his son. His voice was deep, cold, and absolute.

“Has the war reached an impasse already?”

“Yes, Father,” Andrew replied instantly, without hesitation.

Divine Calamity narrowed his gaze, his tone deepening.

“Sooner than I expected. It seems the forces of Divine Sea Heaven are stronger than I initially anticipated.”

There was a pause. The weight in the air grew heavier.

“And our side… is weaker and more cowardly than I thought.”

Without warning, the pressure in the room intensified. Space itself compressed around Andrew’s body like an iron vice. He could feel the bones in his shoulders begin to groan, his internal organs compressing.

Then, just as suddenly, it was gone.

The message was clear.

Had the Prima Deities of the three continents under Divine Calamity Heaven’s dominion fought with true purpose—had they truly risked their lives and battled with unrestrained bloodlust—the war would have already tipped in their favor. But instead, many of them held back, unwilling to risk themselves for a cause that might not reward them.

In their minds, whether Divine Sea Heaven or Divine Calamity Heaven won, they would remain Prima Deities. What mattered most to them wasn’t victory—it was survival.

“I will ensure they understand the price of inaction, Father,” Andrew said through gritted teeth, his voice filled with deadly resolve. “We will break the stalemate and resume our conquest.”

Divine Calamity remained silent for a moment, then nodded slowly.

“Fear is a good motivator. But greed is an even better one.”

His voice turned like a knife cutting through prophecy.

“Open the treasury. Unseal the core library. Let them know: if they kill enough enemies, even our secret techniques will become accessible to them.”

Andrew’s eyes widened. That was no small order. Yet he said nothing.

“I will enter deep seclusion as I assail the next level of my technique,” Divine Calamity declared. “When I emerge… the Endlessdeath Continent must already be mine.”

“Yes, Father!”
