Chapter 1712: Tier III Royal Rebirth Mark
For the next few months, Cain’s movements followed a disciplined and purposeful routine. He cultivated tirelessly, sharpening the foundation of his power and ensuring that his body, soul, and mind remained in peak condition.
In parallel, he continued gathering intelligence on his chosen target—Michael, the white stag Deus Behemoth, one of the Triumvirate of Divine Sea Heaven. The more he learned the more Cain felt the danger of the task, but that did not diminish his conviction at all.
Throughout this time, Cain maintained his disguise as Jarkal, fighting alongside the Prime Deities of the Endlessdeath Continent with impressive ferocity. Simultaneously, he sent regular reports to Zoro, enabling the Inferno Daemon and the forces of the Everlife Continent to strike with overwhelming precision and power.
Each battlefield encounter became increasingly dangerous. It was clear that the allure of the divine treasures within Divine Calamity Heaven’s pyramid had pushed the Prime Deities past caution and into a killing frenzy.
The Prima Deities now fought with true killing intent, risking their lives. Though no deaths had yet occurred, several battles came dangerously close, and as wounds and tensions accumulated, it was inevitable that casualties would soon follow.
Four months after the appearance of the pyramid, Cain returned to the fortress on the shore. He immediately noticed the growing crowd—hundreds of Divine Masters gathered around his clone.
For cultivators of their level, earning even a single Prime Deity Life Point was a pipe dream. Thus, the Ouroboros System was a godsend, giving them access to rare treasures and techniques that could improve their power and increase their chances of survival in the brutal Omega War.
The currency of this system was simple: lives.
The Ouroboros System allowed cultivators to trade evil cultivators in exchange for powerful treasures. The more powerful and wicked the soul, the higher its value.
While Cain had already purged every inch of the underworld in the Endlessdeath Continent, not all the evil cultivators had been captured. Many still roamed the surface, acting in broad daylight as part of the army of Divine Sea Heaven. As long as their crimes did not offend someone stronger than themselves, there was no need for them to hide, making it harder to capture unnoticed, which was why the Ouroborous System was so useful.
Cain had no interest in drawing attention to himself. Silently and without a word, he approached his clone, retrieved a black box, and left. Rising into the sky, he sped toward the Volcano Tree, his thoughts fixed on the contents of the box.
When he peered inside, a sharp gleam lit up in his eyes. In the box, there were tens of millions of evil cultivators, all in a comatose state, their minds sealed and their souls intact. Cain examined them with spiritual precision—each aura dark, corrupted, and steeped in sin.
A slow, satisfied smile curved across his lips.
“Excellent,” he murmured. “The wickedness in their souls will greatly please the Samsara Flame. It may just be enough…”
A meaningful light glinted in Cain’s gaze as he approached the heart of the Volcano Tree. Once within his domain, he wasted no time. Entering the [Samsara Arsenal Module], he made his way straight to the Samsara Sacrificial Ground, where the Samsara Flame burned with undying intensity.
Without hesitation or mercy, Cain began casting the evil cultivators into the flame. One by one, they were devoured in an inferno of purple fire. The flame consumed them ferociously. In less than a minute, tens of millions of wicked souls were reduced to ash and energy.
Then came the reward.
A torrent of Fortune erupted from the ceiling of the sacrificial chamber. The influx of power was staggering—more than enough to birth a Tier I Gift.
But the Samsara Flame was always just. It cared not for volume alone. When one used quantity instead of quality to generate Fortune, the reward would reflect that.
Cain watched as half the radiant energy transformed into nearly a hundred golden spheres, hovering mid-air. A complicated expression settled on his face as he scanned them. None of the Gifts were remotely close to Prime Deity Rank. He had expected that outcome… but disappointment still tugged at the edge of his heart.
There was little time to dwell on it, however.
The remaining Fortune condensed into Merit—glowing strands of karmic value that flashed directly into the runic formation etched into Cain’s arm.
Instantly, an unbearable pain assaulted his mind and soul.
Cain staggered, his knees trembling as he nearly collapsed. The runes of the Royal Rebirth Mark lit up, extending through his arm, down to his chest, searing like molten lava. It felt as though his very essence was being burned from the inside out.
Gritting his teeth, Cain endured the pain, eyes locked onto the runic lines as they spread. They crossed his shoulder and began to etch into his heart. Another wave of agony struck, blinding in its intensity. His vision darkened.
Then—clarity.
The pain faded as the runes settled, fusing directly into the sacred organ. His heart pulsed with new strength. The lines were no longer foreign. They had become a part of him.
Before Cain could fully process the transformation, a deep, ancient voice echoed from the Samsara Flame—majestic and otherworldly.
“Congratulations. You have accumulated sufficient Merit to evolve your Tier II Royal Rebirth Mark into a Tier III Royal Rebirth Mark.
