Chapter 1727: Facing an ArchDeity
“Excellent,” Cain whispered, excitement swelling within his heart. He cast his eyes upward within his Inner World, gazing upon the three magnificent Proto Laws now shimmering in the ethereal sky, each providing immense benefits to his body’s resilience, adaptability, and power.

“Now I require only the Proto Laws of Wind and Lightning,” he said with determination, his eyes flickering with predatory hunger. “Then I’ll possess all five Proto Laws necessary for mastering the Worldcells Ascension Method.”

However, just as he began mentally selecting his next potential targets, a sudden, profound sense of danger erupted within Cain’s consciousness. His eyes narrowed sharply, confusion momentarily clouding his thoughts.

The unexpected and intense sensation shocked Cain, sending adrenaline racing through him. But confusion was swiftly replaced by clarity and determination. Cain’s instincts sharpened instantly, his full awareness snapping back into combat readiness.

“For something to trigger my emotions to such a level, given my current power, it could only be an ArchDeity.”

At that thought, a heavy sense of inevitability pressed down upon Cain. He had grown strong—immensely so—over the past year, acquiring abilities and powers that placed him among the elites of the Endlessdeath Continent. But despite all his progress, the towering strength of an ArchDeity was still far beyond his reach. The stark realization briefly sent ripples of frustration through his mind.

However, as quickly as the fear had arisen, a sliver of calm and rationality returned to Cain’s heart.

“If it truly was an ArchDeity’s direct intervention, my instincts would have reacted much more violently. Whoever or whatever is approaching, it must at least be within the range where I can fight back, even if it’s nearly impossible to defeat.”

Thanks to his recent evolution into a Primordial, Cain’s instincts had become sharply attuned to the subtle currents of fate, causality, and even time itself. While it was merely intuition, Cain trusted this newfound perception deeply.

Without further delay, Cain swiftly exited the [Samsara Arsenal Module], reappearing silently within the secluded depths of the Volcano Tree. Immediately, his consciousness expanded and connected to the vast network of Scarlet Spies spread throughout the Endlessdeath Continent, their minds becoming extensions of his own.

Yet as he meticulously scanned the continent through these hidden eyes, Cain’s brow furrowed deeply.

“There is no indication at all that Divine Sea Heaven has uncovered my disguise, nor any sign of Divine Sea herself approaching the continent,” he mused cautiously.

When Cain first sensed a threat of an ArchDeity-level magnitude, his initial suspicion naturally fell upon the Divine Sea—the powerful woman behind Michael, the white stag Deus Behemoth he had recently slain. Logic dictated that she would seek vengeance against Cain, yet his thorough search yielded no evidence supporting that hypothesis.

Confusion once again assaulted Cain’s thoughts, clouding his judgment momentarily. Not knowing the source of the threat disturbed him more deeply than anything else. The enemy’s identity was crucial information that he urgently needed if he was to respond effectively.

“I must find a secure location quickly, at least until I uncover the true origin of this threat,” Cain reasoned, his gaze turning thoughtfully toward the distant shore.

While his relationship with Zoro and Andrew was tense at best, Cain understood that remaining within Divine Calamity Heaven’s stronghold would typically afford some protection against outside threats. After all, attacking him inside their territory would directly challenge Divine Calamity himself.

However, the moment Cain took a single step toward that supposed sanctuary, his instincts exploded with a force even greater than before, sending a powerful shock through his entire being.

Realization swiftly replaced Cain’s confusion, followed immediately by disgust and deep, icy hatred.

“Divine Calamity,” Cain muttered coldly, a killing intent surging uncontrollably in his heart. “So it’s you.”

Cain felt profound bitterness rise within him. He had fought countless battles under Divine Calamity’s banner, securing victories that had immensely benefited Divine Calamity Heaven. Yet now, without warning or explanation, Divine Calamity himself had turned hostile, clearly aiming to take Cain’s life.

Though the reason behind Divine Calamity’s sudden betrayal remained unknown, Cain had no doubt he had identified his true adversary—the origin of the threat that had shaken him to his core.

Unfortunately, discovering the enemy’s identity provided no immediate advantage. Even if it were merely an avatar or proxy sent by Divine Calamity, it would undeniably carry overwhelming power, beyond Cain’s current capabilities.

A brief thought crossed Cain’s mind about potentially switching allegiance to Divine Sea Heaven. However, he quickly dismissed it as implausible. After the killing of Michael, Cain had effectively closed the door to joining the rival side.

Even if, by some miracle, Divine Sea chose to overlook his offense and accept him into their ranks, he harbored no illusions that their ArchDeity would hesitate to sell him out if Divine Calamity offered a sufficiently enticing deal.

Relying on the protection of others had never been Cain’s preferred strategy, anyway. Immediately, he abandoned that line of thought, instead focusing his keen intellect on analyzing the situation and determining the best possible path forward.

“I can feel the threat drawing closer rapidly, coming directly toward my location. Divine Calamity must know exactly where I am, and that I’ve been disguised as Jarkal.”

Cain’s frown deepened sharply at the troubling realization that Divine Calamity possessed some means of tracking his precise whereabouts.

“If I flee now, whatever Divine Calamity sent after me will definitely catch up quickly. My only option is to confront and destroy this proxy, identify exactly how it’s tracking me, neutralize the method, and then escape swiftly.”

Determination flared strongly in Cain’s heart and soul, crystallizing his resolve. Without hesitation, he began channeling vast amounts of his energy, saturating the Volcano Tree itself. His mastery of multiple Laws and extraordinary energy control allowed him to subtly alter the tree, transforming it.

As the transformation gradually took shape, a ruthless and confident smile began spreading across Cain’s face, anticipation glowing in his eyes.

“I hope you enjoy surprises, you arrogant bastard,” he whispered coldly, his words full of venomous intent.
