The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 998
Chapter 998: High Council Chamber Chapter 998: High Council Chamber It did not take long for Cain and Rellin to move across the Grotto of Sorrows, and after two more hours of fly, the capital of the Trinity Kingdom appeared in their sight.
Today was not the first time Cain saw the Saint Trinity Realm, as he had already explored this area when he was a humanoid made of energy.
However, it was only now that he held a true physical body that he could experience the might of the golden wall and the powerful aura it unleashed.
His eyes soon turned to the three massive statues of Trinity Saintess.
Those three were the first rulers of the Trinity Kingdom, powerful Legends who arrived hundreds of years ago and took control over the island, establishing their domain.
According to what Cain learned, they had left the island, and their whereabouts were unknown, but their bloodline continued ruling over the kingdom. Cain did not have time to reminisce about the story of the Trinity Saintess, as a group of five figures clad in white armor flashed toward him and Rellin as soon as they approached the Saint Trinity Realm.
A sharp light appeared in Cain’s eyes as he focused on the group, detecting four Sky Masters and one Sky Lord.
The group was powerful, much more than the trio from the Dark Brotherhood. Yet, despite their power, a flash of greed and hunger appeared in Cain’s Eye of Gluttony as he imagined the abilities he could obtain from the group.
Still, he immediately hid it, not letting anyone notice it, and adopting a peaceful and amicable smile.
The five warriors immediately assumed solemn expressions as they glanced at Cain.
Not only did they feel immense power coursing through the man’s body, but the eye on his forehead made them feel nervous, making them raise their guard.
The squad leader was a middle-aged man with red hair and a long beard.
He was nearly three meters tall, and behind his back was a massive shield that was almost as large as his body.
Strangely, he had no sword or other weapon, making it seem the shield was the only thing he needed to fight.
“I am Asidius, captain of the Royal Guard.
Immediately identify yourself and state your purpose for intruding into the Saint Trinity Realm.” Asidius spoke in a sharp voice, his eyes cold yet calm.
Cain remained silent, and Duke Rellin stepped forward, performing a small bow before taking a medallion from his space ring that carried the Arshop Dukedom emblem.
While the Trinity Kingdom’s magic and cultivation civilization was very advanced, it severely lacked in other areas.
Despite being a Duke, no one really knew his face or how he looked due to decades of secluded cultivation.
So, Rellin had to rely on his emblem to prove his identity.
“I am Duke Rellin from the Arshop Dukedom.
We have come here for a meeting with the High Council.” Duke Rellin paused at this point before a somber expression appeared.
“Originally, it was just a normal meeting, but certain events that transpired in the Grotto of Sorrows changed things.
We need to speak with them about a very urgent matter.” “You went through the Grotto of Sorrows?” Asidius’s eyes narrowed as he heard those words.
Cain noticed the reaction of the captain of the Royal Guard and knew his hypothesis was correct.
The rulers of the Trinity Kingdom were already aware of the dangers looming over their domain and the sudden vanishing of nobles traveling to the Saint Trinity Realm.
Asidius was full of questions for Rellin, but his eyes turned once more to the young man next to the Duke.
“What is your name, relationship with the Duke, and purpose in the Saint Trinity Realm?” “My name is Cain, and I am Duke Rellin’s disciple.
The original purpose of the meeting that my teacher requested with the High Council concerned me.
Nevertheless, things have changed now due to the events in the desert,” Cain spoke very calmly, showing nothing but composure to Asidius.

The captain of the Royal Guard could not help but frown as he stared at the young man.
Not only did he feel a strange energy coursing through Cain’s body, but he could not perceive any sort of true emotion from the young man.
It was like talking to an ocean, a force of nature which no human could alter.
Asidius stared at Cain for a moment before turning back to the old Duke and softly nodding.
“You two, accompany me.” Cain and Rellin nodded and followed the group of the Royal Guard, crossing the golden walls and heading to the three statues.
Normally, the duo would have needed to go through many checkouts, but since Asidius guided them, no one dared to stop them.
As Cain and Rellin neared the Trinity Castle, a massive structure nestled between the three statues of the Saintess, a sense of foreboding washed over them.
The castle’s imposing aura made Cain flinch, a clear indication of the power it held. ‘This is the Trinity Castle, the heart of the kingdom’s power.
It’s more than a castle, it’s a fortress.
Even with my original body, I’m not sure I could breach its defenses without significant sacrifices.’ Cain couldn’t help but acknowledge the formidable nature of the Trinity Castle. The castle’s towering walls, crafted from black stone and adorned with intricate carvings, rose high into the sky, their surfaces glinting in the sunlight.
Massive, reinforced gates marked the entrance, guarded by statues of mythical beasts that seemed as if they could come to life at any second.
Each inch of the walls and gates was reinforced with runic and magic formations that enhanced the construct’s power, granting it immense endurance and hinting at its destructive power.
‘It made sense for the Three Saintess to build such a formidable stronghold.
After all, they managed to conquer a landmass half the size of Gaia.’ Cain knew that once inside, escape would be nearly impossible.
But his eyes were unwavering, his resolve unshaken.
He was determined to find the key to the Legendary Realm and awaken his True Name.
Asidius led Cain and Rellin to a vast chamber with vaulted ceilings supported by ornate columns.
The floor was a mosaic of precious stones, depicting the history of the royal family and their many triumphs.
Massive chandeliers, crafted from crystal and enchanted to shimmer with an otherworldly light, hung overhead, casting a warm and inviting glow.
The duo immediately recognized this place as the Great Hall, the waiting area for people about to meet with the High Council.
A small smile appeared on Cain and Rellin’s faces as they saw how fast things were going, but they did not take things lightly.
The High Council of the Trinity Kingdom was composed of very efficient people, but also those who reached this post thanks to their family connections.
In the end, you need to know how to display proper skills and values, as well as please the ego of those who only care about face.
“Wait here,” Asidius spoke sharply before walking to the gate at the end of the Great Hall, passing through and reaching the other side.
Cain and Rellin sat and waited calmly, and it was not like they could do something else since the four Sky Master warriors of the City Guard were watching over them, ensuring they did not do anything suspicious.
After two minutes, the gates at the end of the Grand Hall opened again, and Asidius’ voice echoed, “Duke Rellin and his student Cain, the High Council is summoning you.” Cain and Rellin rose from their seats and nodded to each other before walking to the end of the Grand Hall.
As they passed through the gate, they saw a massive chamber.
The High Council Chamber was a masterpiece of architectural splendor and opulent design, reflecting the immense power and wealth of the Trinity Kingdom.
The vaulted ceilings soared high above, supported by intricately carved columns of white marble, each adorned with gold filigree and encrusted with precious gemstones that caught the light from the massive chandeliers overhead.
The chandeliers themselves were grand works of art, crafted from crystal and enchanted to cast a warm, inviting glow that filled the room with an ethereal ambiance.
The floor was a stunning mosaic, depicting the kingdom’s storied history in vibrant, meticulously placed tiles of various precious stones. Although Cain showed awe and wonder as he glanced around the chamber, deep down, he only felt disdain for such an extravagant display of wealth.
Besides beauty, this place had no use; it only worked to make those inside feel better about themselves. Cain’s eyes soon turned to the center of the chamber, where the council podium stood, a grand semi circular platform elevated above the rest of the room. Around the edge of the podium were twelve ornate thrones, each one crafted from a different precious material, signifying the status and house of each council member.
