The Extra Seeks Chaos - Chapter 138
Chapter 138: Mother is waiting
“Trust me… it is what you think…” Seraphine said.
Before Arin could reply, the person had already reached him.
Roxanne stopped in front of Arin with a nervous look on her face.
“Uhm…..”
She lowered her head slightly as she stuttered. “Uhm…. T…. Thank you for this. I’m really grateful.”
“Oh,” Arin smiled. “It’s okay.”
“And you look beautiful tonight,” he added.
Instantly, Roxanne’s already red cheeks became even more redder after hearing what Arin said.
“Oh, uhm…. Thank you.”
Arin nodded his head without saying anything else. Though, Roxanne was still standing in front of him, and with the expression on her face, he knew that she wanted to say something.
‘Well, I won’t force her to say whatever she wants to say,’ Arin thought. ‘Though, I have a feeling Riya must have told her something.’
Arin folded his arms and leaned back on the wall, glancing at Roxanne.
“Like I said, it is what you think,” Seraphine said with a chuckle. “You’re just trying to deceive yourself that it’s something else.”
“Don’t assume things, Seraphine,” Arin said.
Finally, Roxanne gathered the courage to speak.
With her head still lowered, she stretched out her hand and closed her eyes before speaking.
“W… W….. Will you dance with me?”
Arin stared at her, though he wasn’t too surprised. Just like Seraphine said, they both already knew what Roxanne was going to ask. He was just pretending like he didn’t know.
“Hehehe, I told you…..” Seraphine said.
Arin sighed and closed his eyes for a second. ‘I can easily choose to decline, but…’
He opened his eyes, looking at Roxanne, whose head was still lowered and trembling in nervousness with her eyes still closed.
‘But there’s also no harm in agreeing…’
He originally planned this so that Roxanne wouldn’t be bored, and if he didn’t agree to dance with her, he didn’t know how she would feel, so…
Arin smiled. “Okay…”
As soon as Roxanne heard his answer, she raised her head excitedly with a smile on her face.
Though, before she could say anything, Arin stretched the flower Hector gave him towards her.
She collected it instantly before Arin spoke.
“You can drop it and collect it again after the dance.”
“Understood,” Roxanne replied shortly before she rushed towards Riya, who was watching them with a cheeky smile on her face.
Arin sighed as soon as he noticed the smile on Riya’s face. “Of course she planned all this…”

Roxanne rushed back to him after giving Riya the flower to hold for her.
With that, Arin stared at Roxanne as he took her hand and guided her to the dance floor, ready to join the other….. Couples?
Immediately they reached the dance floor, Arin wrapped his right hand around her waist, making her eyes widen as she gulped.
From what Arin noticed, it looked like Roxanne didn’t know how to dance, so he guided her.
He raised her left hand and placed it on his shoulder, and then raised her right hand before intertwining his fingers with hers.
Roxanne was so flustered that she couldn’t speak, and her body became stiff.
“Roxanne…..” Arin whispered.
Roxanne jolted, snapping out of her daze. “Ye….. Yes.”
Her body was no longer stiff, and she grabbed Arin’s shoulder tightly as she nodded her head.
“Just follow my movements,” Arin said.
“Okay,” Roxanne replied.
‘And I think I should also tell her to stop staring into my eyes directly,’ Arin thought. ‘It’s almost hypnotizing.’
Roxanne squinted her calm red eyes as she began following Arin’s movements as instructed.
The music was slow, so they didn’t have to do anything complex.
‘It’s even better this way…..’ Arin thought.
They both stared into each other’s eyes with neither of them looking away.
‘It really is amazing….. Just like Riya said,’ Roxanne thought, still staring into Arin’s eyes.
The music continued, but suddenly, it sped up, making their dance moves also speed up.
At one point, Arin had to pull Roxanne towards himself, making their faces come so close to each other.
As usual, Roxanne was flustered, but it didn’t last long.
Finally, it was time to switch partners, and Arin instantly spun Roxanne towards the boy in front of him, while the boy spun the girl he was dancing with towards Arin.
Arin quickly caught the girl by the waist, continuing the dance.
The girl wore a green gown and had an annoyed expression on her face.
“Tch….. Why didn’t he spin me forward…..?” she said with a frown as she danced with Arin. “I would’ve ended up with Alex…”
She then looked at Arin with a frown. “Make sure you spin me with force so I can move closer to Al~”
“Shut up.”
Before she could finish talking, Arin interrupted her.
The girl’s eyes widened in shock. “Huh? What did you just sa~”
“I said shut up….. Don’t you have ears?” Arin asked with an indifferent expression.
The girl was fuming with anger to the point that she missed a step and almost fell down.
Arin glared at her with a cold look in his eyes that made a chill run down her spine.
“Before we switch….. I don’t want to hear a single word from you,” Arin whispered. “Is that clear?”
The girl instinctively nodded her head frantically, unable to say anything.
“Good…”
Finally, it was time to switch again, and Arin spun the girl backward instead of forward, though the girl was just happy that she had finally gotten away from Arin.
But surprisingly, the boy in front of him also spun the girl he was dancing with backward instead of forward.
“Huh?”
Arin quickly caught the girl, still surprised.
‘Why didn’t he spin her forward?’
As soon as he laid his eyes on the girl he caught, a frown instantly appeared on his face.
She had long purple hair with a fringe covering her right eye, and she wore a long purple gown that was nothing short of elegant, along with shiny jewelry.
With a smile on her face, she stared at Arin with her mesmerizing purple eyes. “Nice to meet you again…”
It was the same girl who smirked at him on her first day at the Academy.
At this point, Arin was convinced that this girl wasn’t normal….. There was just something off.
Arin frowned. There was no need to beat around the bush, so he spoke, quickly going straight to the point.
“Who are you?”
They both continued dancing, and if one looked closely, they would notice that they were dancing faster than others and even in more styles.
The girl smirked. “I introduced myself the other day…. My name is Kiara Everhart.”
Arin’s eyes instantly became sharp as he glared at her. “Don’t play dumb…..”
“You know, we can’t really talk about that now,” Kiara said. “How about we schedule a meeting?”
“I demand an answer now,” Arin instantly said.
“Hmm,” Kiara smiled. “Commanding, huh? As expected of Her son…”
Arin furrowed his brows. “What are you talking about?”
“Like I said, we can’t discuss that now,” Kiara said.
Before Arin could respond, she continued.
“Moreover, we’re about to switch again…..”
Arin realized that it was indeed time to switch again. He gritted his teeth in anger, but he managed to keep his cool.
Kiara chuckled. “I made a promise to mother, and I don’t intend to break that promise…”
Arin just blinked, and before he knew it, Kiara’s face was already so close to his.
Before he could react, she leaned forward and placed a kiss on his nose.
‘Huh?’
Arin instantly spun her to the next person, though he heard her last whisper.
“Mother is waiting…”
Arin’s frown deepened as he caught the girl who was spun towards him. ‘What the hell just happened…..?’
“Uhm….. Arin, is there any problem?”
Arin instantly looked at the girl and realized that it was Roxanne.
Arin smiled. “It’s nothing. I just spaced out for some seconds.”
Roxanne nodded her head as they continued dancing.
Finally, the music stopped, signifying the end of the dance.
Everyone clapped, with bright smiles on their faces as they began spreading out again, continuing their various discussions.
Orion instantly walked towards the raised platform, gathering the attention of everyone.
“I believe that was fun!” Orion said.
“Yes!” Everyone said in unison.
“Perfect,” Orion said with his hands behind his back. “Please, enjoy the rest of the ceremony before it comes to an end.”
Everyone clapped again as he left the platform.
Both Arin and Roxanne walked towards the wall where he was before, and leaned on it.
“So, how was it?” Arin asked.
Even though he was speaking with Roxanne, his mind was occupied with thoughts about Kiara.
“It was perfect,” Roxanne answered instantly, with a wide smile. “Riya was right.”
Arin nodded his head. “I’m glad you enjoyed it….”
‘Kiara, huh?’ Arin thought. ‘She said something about a certain mother, and I don’t think she’s talking about Arin’s mother.’
Arin furrowed his brows. ‘So what could it be….?’
‘I’ll find out… I know that for sure…..’
