Chapter 168: Practicing The Third Innate Skill
As expected, the Blood Energy stopped a few inches away from his skin and didn’t stick to it, but he just had to continue trying.
He had already asked Seraphine if she knew anything about it, but she didn’t.
The Blood Armour Skill that normal Vampires could use didn’t require Blood Energy to be stuck to the skin, so it wasn’t surprising that she didn’t know.
Moreover, it was an Innate Skill of a Progenitor.
Arin tried different things. He tried to force the Blood Energy closer to his skin, but it was to no avail. He even brought out a bit more of his Blood Energy and tried to make it come out very close to his skin, but it still didn’t work.
‘Shit… This is harder than I thought,’ Arin thought as he stared at the ceiling.
He was honestly tired of trying different methods, but he didn’t want to stop yet because he knew that as far as it was in the procedure, then that meant that it was definitely possible.
“If I don’t practice, I won’t be able to get it.”
“You have my full support!” Seraphine exclaimed.
Arin instantly went back to trying.
He tried a few different things, like making the Blood Energy surround his hand and trying to stick it to his skin, but it still didn’t work.
“That has to be the dumbest method I’ve tried so far.”
“Definitely,” Seraphine said, “but don’t decide yet, you might still try even dumber methods.”
Arin gritted his teeth, thinking of what next to try.
“I’ve tried using force to stick it to my skin, but that didn’t work,” he muttered. “But what if it just needs more force?”
Arin raised a brow as he thought of something.
He focused his Blood Energy on his toes, and it instantly began seeping out.
The Blood Energy seeped out from his toes, and the instant it came out, Arin instantly directed it beneath his feet.
His concentration was intense, and he made sure to direct the Blood Energy towards the bottom of his feet immediately after it came out.
After gathering a good amount of Blood Energy beneath his feet, he instantly stomped his right foot on the floor, pressing it harder.
He did the same with his left foot, making sure to press them harder to the floor.
He was doing this to add more force, to see if the Blood Energy would finally stick to the bottom of his feet, which was his skin.
The result?
Failure!
Arin sat down on the bed. “Skin… Maybe I’m taking this too literally.”
After a few minutes of trying to figure out what else he could do, he had an idea.
“I’ll just try this one, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll think of something again.”
This time, Arin decided to stick his Blood Energy to his skin, but not from outside…
From inside.
He had a thought. What if the skin wasn’t referring to his outermost skin but rather the flesh beneath the skin, which, in other words, could be called tissues?

“I never liked biology, but I know that the tissues beneath the skin are also part of the skin.”
Arin decided to try it out.
He sat down in a lotus position and concentrated, sensing the inside of his body.
He began controlling his Blood Energy inside his body, moving it closer to the innermost part of his skin.
His Blood Energy moved faster this time because he was controlling it inside his body and not bringing it outside.
Within seconds, he had already stuck his Blood Energy to the innermost part of his skin.
‘It worked…’
Now, that part was over. It was time to move on to the next procedure.
Hardening.
He began hardening his Blood Energy, but it wasn’t that simple.
He would have to condense it and join it together. It was almost as if he was joining air together.
But the only thing that made it slightly easier was the fact that his Blood Energy was thick, and his Vampiric Blood could aid him in hardening his Blood Energy.
Arin continued the process, still seated in a lotus position. It was as if he was lost in a trance as time went by.
Two hours later…
“Ugh…” Arin groaned as his eyes snapped open.
His eyes instantly went to where he felt that sharp pain… His right arm.
“Oh…”
His right arm was now covered in a red metallic coating, with spikes protruding from it.
The rest of his body was still normal. Only his right arm was different.
“I managed to completely harden the Blood Energy in my right arm, so the Blood Armour formed on my right arm only.”
He still hadn’t gotten any notification from the system about the Skill being completed.
Arin sighed. “I’ll have to completely learn it and make sure the Blood Armour can be formed around my entire body before it can be considered that I’ve learned the Skill.”
“But at least, my method worked, and hardening my Blood Energy is getting easier, so if I continue the process throughout the night, I should be able to cover more than half of my body with the Blood Armour.”
Arin exited the room and went to the parlour, where he saw Lina and Edwin.
“Oh, Arin,” Lina said as she dragged Edwin back, stopping him from sneaking out of the house. “Edwin and I just got back. We went for a walk.”
“I thought so,” Arin said as he sat down on one of the dining chairs.
Lina instantly rushed towards him. “It was fun! Ah, there’s a lot of new things that weren’t in the city before!”
“And I also saw Uncle Greenbrow! We went to th—”
Lina kept rambling, and Arin kept nodding his head, barely able to follow all she was saying.
‘You can’t deceive me anymore with that cute sisterly expression you always have,’ Arin thought as he squinted his eyes. ‘You’re a villain, and I know it.’
That aside, the time to return back to the Academy was already approaching.
