The Extra Seeks Chaos - Chapter 224
Chapter 224: Initiating The Plan [4]
“Bruh… Did I really create this…!?”
Arin’s eyes were glued to the system screen as he stared at the information of the Spell he just created.
[Chaotic Ember: Using Chaos Element Mana, you can summon fireballs that can be launched towards your target.]
[Effects: Once a fireball comes in contact with a target, it inflicts any status ailment of your choice.]
[Status Ailments: Confusion, Corruption, Madness, Fear, Hallucinations, Weakness, Disorientation, Burning.]
[Note: At the current stage of this Spell, only one status ailment of your choice can be inflicted upon a target.]
Arin stared at the system screen with widened eyes.
He thought that the Spell would only cause slight burn damage to an enemy and that was all.
He didn’t expect that the fireball would be able to inflict status ailments on enemies.
“And not just one status ailment, but eight,” Arin muttered.
He stared at the fireball on his palm.
This really was the true nature of the Chaos Element.
It was destructive.
“And if I continue practicing the Spell, I’ll eventually be able to inflict the eight status ailments upon an enemy at once.”
At the later stages, this Spell would be insanely OP!
Arin grinned.
“I don’t regret trying to create a new Spell.”
Next, he moved on to the two rewards he received for his hard work.
[Reward 1: New ‘Extra’ Skill.]
[Type: Passive.]
Arin raised a brow.
“Hmm…”
He quickly checked the Skill.
[Extra’s Army: Your allies now have a 5 percent increase in physical capabilities and Mana.]
Arin’s eyes shone.
“5 percent… That’s great.”
[Note: The boost can be increased after special conditions have been fulfilled.]
Arin nodded.
“I don’t know what those special conditions are, but that increase will definitely go a long way.”
[Reward 2: Cloak and Mask Upgrade.]

[New effect: 10 percent increase in physical capabilities when wearing your cloak and mask.]
Arin knew that the five percent increase in physical capabilities and Mana that his allies received because of his new skill was great.
Five percent increase wasn’t as small as it seemed.
But this ten percent was just simply incredible.
Arin stood up with a smile.
“Well, I guess I should practice my new Spell a bit…”
Arin spent some time experimenting with the purple fireball.
He tried to increase the size, and it was possible by adding more Mana to it.
There was no target in the Mana Space, so he couldn’t test the status ailment yet, but at least, he was satisfied.
Happy with his achievements and new Skills, Arin exited the Mana Space.
He had gained a lot, and now, his strength has once more increased.
His eyes snapped open as he looked around the room.
Roxanne was still staring outside, but she instantly noticed when Arin opened his eyes.
“Welcome back,” she said.
Arin nodded and looked around, but he didn’t see Seraphine.
Though, he immediately realized where she was.
Roxanne instantly understood what he was thinking.
“Yes, you spent quite some time,” she said.
“I see…”
“I think it’s almost time,” Seraphine said in his head.
Arin nodded.
“Yes, we should leave now.”
He had already told Roxanne and Seraphine about what he wanted to do, so they weren’t confused.
Roxanne nodded and instantly transformed into a bracelet, and Arin wore it.
He looked around the room.
He had already put all his clothes and other stuff in his inventory.
There was nothing left to carry.
Quickly, he wore his cloak and his mask.
And as expected…
“Ah… This is refreshing…”
He instantly felt the increase in strength.
He closed his eyes as he relished the feeling.
Not wanting to waste any more time, he looked at the open window and walked towards it.
He glanced at the room one last time, and then…
WHOOSH!
He leaped outside the room.
His hair fluttered wildly as he descended.
With a slight, almost inaudible thud, he landed.
He looked to the right where the second-year side of the Academy was located.
With his enhanced eyesight, he could see a figure walk about.
“Brad… Perfect timing.”
Brad was currently in the second-year side of the Academy, so there was no way he would be able to notice Arin.
Though, even though he was in the first-year side, he still wouldn’t have noticed Arin.
After all, Arin was stealthy, and he also had the Extra’s Cloak Skill that made him pretty much unnoticeable.
Arin glanced at the female dorm building.
“Lina…”
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before moving towards the appointed location.
********
“Uhm… Tessa, how long have we been standing here?”
Tessa furrowed her brows as she stared at Leon.
“It’s been barely three minutes, Leon. I understand that you are quite nervous, but you don’t have to ask how long we’ve been standing here every second.”
“You’re right…” Leon said as he glanced at the gate.
Right now, the both of them were standing in front of the Academy’s wall, and the exit gate was just a few distance beside them to the right.
There was silence for some seconds, but then, Leon opened his mouth, ready to ask how long they had been standing there again.
But then…
“Hey guys.”
Instantly, the both of them turned back.
“Ah, you’re finally here,” Leon said, a look of relief in his eyes.
For some reason, he felt tense when just him and Tessa were standing alone in front of the wall.
But now that Arin had arrived, he felt a sense of security.
Arin nodded.
“Let’s go.”
He looked at Tessa before adding, “You understand, right?”
Tessa smiled.
“Of course, I do.”
Leon’s eyes kept darting between the both of them, not really understanding what they were saying.
Tessa placed her right hand on the wall.
“It brings back memories…” she muttered as she stared at Arin.
The both of them were feeling it.
Nostalgia.
This was where they passed the first time they snuck out of the Academy.
Tessa quickly regained her composure and instantly summoned a Sound Barrier.
Leon wanted to ask what was going on, after all, he only knew that they would leave the Academy, but he wasn’t told how.
He decided to just watch and see.
Immediately Tessa set up the Sound Barrier, Arin walked forward.
He placed his hands on the smooth surface of the wall, and pushed.
Last time, it took a while to completely push that part of the wall out, but now, because he was far stronger than before, he was able to push it out instantly.
He pushed, and the smooth section began to give way, slowly pushing outwards.
Due to the Sound Barrier, the three of them were the only ones who were able to hear the sound.
It didn’t escape the barrier.
BAM!
The section of the wall that was pushed fell, landing neatly on the other side.
Leon’s mouth remained wide open, with no sign of closing anytime soon.
Arin shook his head, though, Leon’s expression was completely understandable.
“Alright, come. Tessa will explain to you on the way,” Arin said as he grabbed Leon’s shoulder.
Unable to say anything yet, he passed through the gaping hole that was now present, followed by Tessa and Arin.
Without wasting time, Arin picked the section of the wall that he pushed away.
He quickly readjusted it back to the wall, covering the gaping hole and making the wall look normal again.
“Alright, let’s go.”
Taking one last look at the Academy, the three of them began walking to the right where a path in the forest was located.
On the way, Tessa began telling Leon about why that part of the wall was able to be pushed out.
As they walked under the moonlight sky, they finally reached the entrance of the forest that had a path in the middle.
Trees filled the left and right side of the path.
But most importantly…
“Right on time.”
“Yes. I told you, we would be able to leave the Academy easily,” Arin said as he walked towards Riya.
Meanwhile, Tessa and Leon stared at the carriage that was in front of them.
Though, Tessa quickly averted her gaze to the lady who was currently talking to Chaos.
She wore a black cloak and a black mask just like him.
“I know her…” Tessa muttered.
She could feel it.
It was that same lady who came to the forest in the Academy to tell her that Chaos found a Mana Cave in a faraway city, and would be training there for a while.
Tessa and Leon walked towards the carriage, and noticed that apart from Chaos and the lady, there was one more person.
“You know, I don’t think there’s any need to cover our faces anymore,” Arin whispered to Riya. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
Riya chuckled.
“You’re saying this, yet you still wore your cloak and mask…”
She added,
“As for me, I’ll be honest. I just wore it for the fun of it, because like you said, there’s no need to hide anything anymore.”
Arin nodded.
“And your cousin… Why has he not come out of the carriage?”
Arin could already sense that someone was in the carriage, and it had to be Riya’s cousin.
Riya sighed.
“He’s still cautious…”
Before Arin could say anything, she suddenly spoke again.
“Come out. He already knows you’re there. I told you that you can trust him. I have no reason to lie to you.”
Riya’s words worked, because the boy finally stepped out of the carriage.
But as soon as Arin turned to look at the boy, he gasped.
‘Wait… He’s Riya’s cousin!?”
