Chapter 240: Vampire Soulmancers
The day had been bright for quite some time now, and the sunlight was peeping through the window in Arin’s room.

Four figures were currently in the room, and one of them had a very confused expression on his face.

“So, that’s the current situation,” Arin said, concluding his explanation of what the red-haired Vampire told him.

Liora squinted her eyes a bit as she stared at the door, her gaze a bit lost.

“I guess we came at the right time, then,” she said.

“What do you think, Sylas?” she added, turning to look at Sylas who was standing beside her.

The confused expression on his face had not even shown any sign of disappearing ever since he arrived with Liora.

His expression.

His stature.

Everything…

There was nothing about him that made it look like he was even a Progenitor.

He just looked so ordinary.

“Yes, I agree,” he said as he glanced at Liora. “From what Progenitor Arin just told us, Vaelric recently started attacking, so they must not have gotten far.”

Arin noticed that Sylas wasn’t stammering while talking, unlike before when he went to the Vampire Realm.

‘He must have begun getting used to them,’ Arin thought.

“But they attacked five cities at the same time. I think they’re going all out,” Roxanne said.

“That’s true. We don’t have much time, we have to begin,” Liora said, glancing at Sylas again.

Sylas nodded in agreement.

“Thank you for the information,” Liora said, bowing slightly to Arin who also bowed back.

“But how will you know where the Vampires are?” Arin asked. “Remember, I told you that they can now use Mana, so it’ll be very easy for them to blend in with humans.”

Liora grinned.

“Don’t worry, we have a way to do that.”

Sylas just nodded again, confirming what Liora said.

“Okay,” Arin said. “Are you going to inform the King about this information first?”

“There’ll be no need for that,” Liora responded instantly. “Sylas and I will start helping the humans from this moment. And since you mentioned that soon, the sun won’t shine for quite some time, it’ll even be easier for us.”

Arin nodded. “Alright.”

As Progenitors, the sun won’t normally affect Liora and Sylas that much, but it would still be beneficial to them if the sun didn’t come out at all.

Liora glanced at Roxanne with a smile on her face.

“Come here,” she said, her smile widening.

Roxanne smiled back before walking towards Liora and hugging her.

“Be careful,” Roxanne muttered in Liora’s ears.

“I will, don’t worry,” Liora said. “I’ll be back soon, and…”

She paused for a few seconds before she muttered in a really low voice.

“…. And I’ll tell him…”

Roxanne nodded before letting Liora go.

“Alright, we’ll get going now,” Sylas said.

Liora quickly used Serak’s Special Ability.

A red circle with patterns and a large X in the middle appeared on the floor.

Sylas and Liora stepped on the circle, and with a nod, they disappeared.

Only Arin and Roxanne were now in the room.

Arin sighed as he sat down on the bed.

“That damn Raven… It drained my Blood Energy.”

When Arin entered his room when the day was yet to fully blossom, he was still feeling the itch on his back, and of course, from past experience, he knew what it meant.

As expected, the Raven drained his Blood Energy, but unlike last time, he didn’t go unconscious.

He felt like the reason for that was because he had already experienced it once, so this time, he wasn’t taken by surprise, and because of that, he didn’t fall unconscious.

Roxanne chuckled lightly as she stared at Arin.

“But at least, it’s getting bigger.”

Arin nodded. “Hmm, but I’m still unable to communicate with it. I don’t know if there’s a special condition or something.”

“Or maybe it just needs to get even bigger,” Roxanne said.

Arin shrugged. “Maybe. I’ll figure something out.”

“You have a lot of things to figure out, Arin,” Roxanne said. “I hope you figure some of them out now, if not, they’ll keep piling.”

“I’m trying, Seraphine,” Arin said.

He quickly freshened up, and wore the bracelet which Roxanne had transformed into, and was about to leave the room, but then, he remembered something.

‘Wait… I haven’t asked both of them about Vampire Soulmancers…’

When the Raven drained his Blood Energy, even though he didn’t fall unconscious, he still felt tired, and eventually forgot to ask them about Tessa’s race.

“What’s with the abrupt stop?” Seraphine asked.

“Wait.”

He quickly walked back to the bed, and removed the bracelet before dropping it on the floor.

Roxanne instantly appeared, standing in front of Arin.

Without wasting a single second, he instantly asked his question.

“What do you know about Vampire Soulmancers?”

His question was directed to both Seraphine and Roxanne.

Roxanne squinted her eyes, wondering why Arin was asking that question, but she decided not to ask him.

“Vampire Soulmancers are also Vampires… Just a different breed. They’re quite a good number of different breeds of Vampires,” Roxanne said as she folded her arms.

“Yeah,” Seraphine said. “Like every other different breed of Vampires, they’re special, because they’re the only breed of Vampires that can see souls and have control over those souls.”

Well, apart from the fact that there were other different breeds of Vampires, Arin knew all what they just told him.

He wanted more information.

“Is that all?” he asked.

“Hmm…” Roxanne muttered in a thoughtful manner.

“Well, they have the same appearance as normal Vampires, except that their hair is always white,” she said.

‘Hmm, Tessa’s hair also turned white, so I guess that’s true,’ Arin thought.

“And apart from that, they also have the same ranking system like normal Vampires,” Seraphine and Roxanne said at the same time, though, Roxanne could not hear Seraphine since she was in Arin’s head.

“As their rank increases, so does the number of souls they can store,” Seraphine added.

“They’re quite a high number of Vampire Soulmancers in the Vampire Kingdom,” Roxanne said.

Arin nodded in understanding.

“Though…” Seraphine said, her voice a bit low. “They’re usually discriminated against. It’s not anything major, but it’s quite obvious sometimes.”

Arin raised a brow. “What do you mean?”

Roxanne could understand that Arin was currently discussing with Seraphine, so she remained quiet.

Seraphine replied,

“You know, they have a lot to do with souls, and not just the souls of humans, but also the souls of Vampires, so…”

Arin could already see where this was going.

Seraphine continued,

“Some other Vampires detest them for that. If a Vampire dies, they can also store the soul of that Vampire, and it just doesn’t sit right with some of the Vampires.”

“I understand…” Arin muttered.

“But like I mentioned before, it’s nothing serious,” Seraphine said.

“Hmm,” Arin muttered.

Even though Seraphine said it was nothing serious, he couldn’t help but feel like it was actually serious.

“Alright, anything else?”

After a few more minutes, Arin learned a few more things.

Vampire Soulmancers, along with other breeds of Vampires and regular Vampires were all in the Academy. Also, Vampire Soulmancers need Blood Energy to sustain the souls they summon. So, as long as they summon the souls they’ve stored, their Blood Energy would be constantly consumed, until they store the souls again.

‘At least, Tessa is slowly realizing the things she can do, so with time, I’ll completely know her abilities,’ Arin muttered.

Suddenly, as he was about to get up from the bed,

“Hey, Arin.”

Arin instantly furrowed his brows. “Huh… Tessa?”

The voice he heard was Tessa’s voice, but she wasn’t in the room.

‘I heard that voice in my head,’ Arin thought.

“You’re shocked, right?”

He heard Tessa’s voice in his head again.

“I was also shocked when I found out…”

Arin knew that there was only one possible explanation for this…

The connection.

The connection he had with Tessa was the only thing that could make it possible for Tessa to communicate with him telepathically.

‘How the hell did she even discover it before me…?’

‘Tessa, can you hear me?’ Arin asked in his mind, with the intent of having a conversation.

“Yes, I can. Good morning, hehe.”

Arin couldn’t help but smile as he shook his head.

“Good morning.”

“I must say, this is really convenient,” Tessa said.

“I agree. It has a lot of advantages,” Arin said.

Roxanne just stared at Arin curiously, wondering how long he was planning to talk with Seraphine.

“I think it’s time to come out, don’t you think?” Tessa asked.

Arin looked outside through the window.

He paused for a few seconds before replying:

“True. Fang must be outside already.”

“Alright,” Tessa said. “I’ll be coming out now. You can meet me outside.”

“Alright.”

Immediately after his response, he didn’t hear Tessa’s voice again.

Meanwhile, Roxanne finally decided to ask the question that was on her and Seraphine’s mind.

“Uhm… Arin, why did you ask us about Vampire Soulmancers? Did you perhaps… turn someone?”
