Chapter 241: Breeds
Roxanne finally decided to ask the question that was on her and Seraphine’s mind.

“Uhm… Arin, why did you ask us about Vampire Soulmancers? Did you perhaps… turn someone?”

Arin blinked.

He was yet to tell them about Tessa, and thinking about it now, he had no reason to hide it from them.

“Yes,” Arin said, making both Roxanne and Seraphine gasp.

“I turned Tessa last night,” he added. “And she became a different breed… A Vampire Soulmancer.”

Roxanne and Seraphine were quite shocked, but it wasn’t a problem, so it wasn’t like their shock was one of detest or something.

They just didn’t expect it.

“No wonder you were suddenly asking us about Vampire Soulmancers,” Seraphine said.

Arin smiled. “Yeah… I kinda forgot to even tell you guys.”

“It’s alright,” Roxanne said, smiling. “I’m sure she was the one who asked you to turn her, because knowing you, I’m not sure you’ll forcefully turn her, especially considering the fact that she’s a friend and not an enemy.”

“I agree,” Seraphine said. “Ever since I knew her, she has always been power hungry… It’s in her eyes.”

“That’s true,” Arin said.

Though, he knew that Tessa had not always been like that.

Before he showed her how her parents died, she just wanted to get stronger like every other person, but ever since he showed her, the urge to get stronger increased drastically.

It wasn’t the normal urge that every other person had.

‘To be able to fight beside me, huh?’ Arin thought, recalling Tessa’s words last night.

“I just remembered a few more questions I wanted to ask,” Arin said.

“I’m all ears,” Roxanne said, sitting on the bed.

“Same here… Though I currently don’t have my physical ears… But you get the point… Ugh, just go ahead,” Seraphine said.

Arin just had a blank expression on his face as he listened to Seraphine.

‘The urge to tease her right now…’

That aside, Arin asked his question.

“Is it weird that she turned into a Vampire Soulmancer when I’m not of that breed?”

Arin didn’t want to say that he was a normal Vampire, after all, he himself was sure that he wasn’t a normal Vampire.

Heck, the system even displayed his race as Chaos Progenitor Vampire.

The Chaos Element that fused with his Blood Energy created an entirely different breed… One that has never been seen before.

He was the first of his kind.

It was obvious that he wasn’t a normal Vampire unlike the other Progenitors.

“No, it isn’t weird,” Roxanne said.

Seraphine added,

“There are two cases here.”

“Enlighten me,” Arin said.

Immediately after that, he spoke to Tessa telepathically.

“Hey, I might take some time, but I’ll be down soon.”

Tessa instantly replied.

“Okay, I’m with Fang already. The villagers are also going about their daily activities, though they’re quite wary of Ethan, Leon, and that other masked lady.

They’re quite comfortable around me because they’ve seen me before.”

“I see… Okay, I’ll soon be there,”

Before Arin could focus back on Roxanne and Seraphine, Tessa suddenly spoke again.

“Yes… Before I forget, once you come down, you’ll have to tell me who the masked lady is…”

Tessa’s voice was firm, as if she was trying to let Arin know that he couldn’t refuse.

She knew that he was a big fat liar, so her voice made it clear that she was ready for him.

Arin sighed.

“Alright…”

He knew that if he decided to postpone this conversation he was having with Seraphine and Roxanne, other things would happen and he would eventually forget to continue the conversation.

Something similar had happened in the past, so it was better to continue the conversation.

With that, he focused on Seraphine who knew that he was talking with Tessa.

She knew that Arin turned her, and it was general knowledge that ‘members of the same family’ could communicate with each other telepathically.

Also, Arin’s sudden silence made it obvious.

“As I was saying, there are two cases here,” Seraphine began. “Case one, if a normal Vampire with a high Rank turns a human, there’s a high chance that the human would also become a normal Vampire, but there’s also a slight chance that the human would turn into a different breed of Vampires.”

Seraphine added, “that’s the case with Tessa.”

Arin nodded in understanding as Seraphine continued.

“Then case two, if a normal Vampire gives birth to a child, there’s a high chance that the child will be a normal Vampire, but there’s also a slight chance that the child will be-”

“A different breed,” Arin said, completing Seraphine’s statement.

“Exactly,” Seraphine said. “Though, there’s a reason there’s still quite a high amount of different breeds in the Vampire Kingdom.”

Arin let Seraphine talk.

“It’ll be better to use an example,” she said. “For example, if a Vampire Soulmancer turns a human into a Vampire, that human would definitely turn into a Vampire Soulmancer. There’s no slight chance or high chance.

“Same with birth. If a Vampire Soulmancer gives birth to a child, the child will also be a Vampire Soulmancer, except one of the parents is a normal Vampire or a different breed from the Soulmancer Vampire, then chances will exist.”

Arin perfectly understood what Seraphine just said.

Arin nodded.

“I completely understand,” he said.

“Yeah. The third princess, my younger sister, is even a different breed… A Vampire Warrior.”

Arin instantly squinted his eyes. “Seriously?’

“Yes,” Seraphine replied. “My dad and mum are both normal Vampires, but my mum’s great grandfather was a Vampire Warrior, so even though my mum is a normal Vampire, the Vampire Warrior bloodline was dormant, and it finally manifested in my younger sister.”

Arin didn’t quite expect this.

“Yeah, it’s quite surprising, but she’s far more stronger than me, even though I’m older than her,” Seraphine said, her voice reducing slightly.

Arin could tell that she was definitely not happy about that fact.

“You’re growing stronger, Seraphine. You should also appreciate that.”

Seraphine chuckled. “I know… Thank you.”

Arin turned to Roxanne who had been silent, waiting for him and Seraphine to finish discussing.

“I guess she has told you all you need to know, right?” She asked.

“Yes,” Arin replied as he got up from the bed. “Thank you both for your help. I really appreciate it.”

“It’s alright, Master,” Seraphine said, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

Arin just rolled his eyes.

“I’m glad I could help,” Roxanne said with a smile.

If there was one person Arin felt like he was yet to fully understand among all his allies, it was Roxanne.

Her eyes… They were always so calm… Just too calm.

Arin nodded at her before she transformed into her bracelet form which Arin wore before wearing his cloak and mask. He left the room, and quickly exited the building.

Even though it was still morning, the sun couldn’t be felt like before, and the clouds were getting dark.

‘The rainy season is slowly approaching… It’s almost here,’ Arin thought.

He could already hear the chatters of the villagers.

Just like Tessa said, they were all going about their daily activities, children playing and running about, and some were even pursuing each other with wooden swords while the slightly older ones were attacking each other playfully with their magic.

Arin closed his eyes and inhaled deeply.

The wind carried a certain kind of scent, as if it was about to rain.

Not a lot of people were passing by this building Arin just came out from, but the few people who were passing were staring at him cautiously.

Ignoring them for now, Arin began walking forward.

He could already see Fang, Riya, Ethan, and Leon standing beside one of the few large buildings.

As for Tessa…

“You sure took your time,” Tessa said, a smile playing on her lips.

Arin continued walking forward, approaching Tessa who just spoke.

“Yeah,” Arin said, his expression not visible. “So, what’s going on now.”

He finally reached Tessa and they began walking forward beside each other.

“Fang and her team are already waiting in front of the meeting room. I told Fang that we should wait for you before we start the meeting.

She instantly agreed, though. After all, she knows that you’re the one with the information gotten from the red haired Vampire.”

Arin nodded.

“Alright, then. I guess we should hurry.”

“Sure.”

Arin and Tessa increased their walking pace.

Tessa glanced at Arin. “Still wearing the mask, huh?”

Arin chuckled. “Yeah… You know, because of Fang and the others.”

He had already told Fang that he had a tendency for not showing his face, so it would definitely be weird if he suddenly began showing his face.

And moreover, Fang still didn’t know that he was Arin, the boy who followed Tessa to save their Village from the bandits.

Tessa nodded in understanding.

“Alright, but before we get there…”

She paused as her gaze turned sharp.

“Tell me… Who is she?”

“My girlfri-‘
