The Extra Seeks Chaos - Chapter 256
Chapter 256: Can a dead man speak?
Arin stopped walking.
He raised his right hand as his eyes shone with a certain kind of excitement.
Vake would be his experimental subject today.
“How about we start with…”
SNAP!
Arin snapped his fingers, and then…
“… Confusion…”
Nothing happened.
Vake still stood normally, apart from the scorch mark on his chest.
Arin decided to just watch to see what would happen.
‘I don’t really see him as a threat anymore…’
Vake began turning to the left and right, still searching for his rapier.
His rapier was actually on the ground at his left side, but even though he was looking at that spot, he didn’t move to take it.
“Maybe because of the confusion effect, he’s not really seeing the rapier even though it’s there,” Seraphine said.
“Yeah. I think so too,” Arin said.
Vake’s expression suddenly brightened as if he saw the rapier.
Without wasting time, he rushed towards the rapier and instantly picked it up from the ground.
Though, after picking it, a confused expression appeared on his face again.
Arin squinted his eyes as he noticed something.
‘Ever since I activated the confusion status ailment of the Chaotic Ember Spell, he hasn’t said anything…’
Since he was treating this as an experiment to see how the Spell worked, he made sure to take note of this.
At first, he thought that the confusion status ailment would make the enemy start saying confusing things or even running about like a person who was lost, but it turned out that it really wasn’t like that.
“It’s a silent and calm type of confusion,” Arin murmured.
Vake’s currently confused expression was because he was contemplating something.
He stared at his hands. His rapier was in his left hand.
‘Something feels off…’ he thought. ‘Is it supposed to be in my left hand or right hand?’
He was so ‘confused’ right now.
But then, his eyes suddenly widened, and then…
BOOM!
An Earth pillar suddenly formed below him, blasting him towards Arin with his rapier pointed out in front of him.

“Shit…”
Arin quickly raised his sword, and then…
SHING!
Sparks flew as he deflected Vake’s rapier to the right.
Just like before, his right leg lunged forward towards Vake. But this time, it headed for his stomach.
Just before Arin’s leg could hit Vake’s stomach, a boulder suddenly formed in front of Vake, and then…
BOOM!
Arin’s kick destroyed the boulder into small pieces.
But then…
WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
Vake grinned as the little bits of the boulder suddenly sharpened and pointed towards Arin.
Arin gritted his teeth. “Shit… I’m too close.”
The small Earth spikes made from the destroyed boulder instantly rushed towards Arin.
It was at point-blank range, so Arin wouldn’t be able to dodge all of them.
Some of the small spikes grazed and stabbed Arin’s skin, drawing blood.
Though, the pain was nothing.
As a Vampire, and a Progenitor at that, he had a certain tolerance to pain.
Vake leaped back, creating distance between himself and Arin.
His eyes sharpened as he spoke:
“You used some sort of Spell on me, but just know that…”
He paused, making sure his words were sinking in.
“It won’t work again…”
Arin just stared at Vake. ‘It seems stronger individuals can resist the status ailment to some extent. I’ll have to experiment more.’
“Alright,” Vake said. “Are you ready for round two? When I’m done with you, I’ll also do the same to that Tessa girl…”
In that instant…
BOOM!
Vake rushed towards Arin, his steps heavy, making the ground crack.
In an instant, he reached Arin.
WHIZZ!
He thrust his rapier with precision and speed towards Arin’s head.
Though, Arin was already prepared.
With a single motion, a pillar of water burst out from the ground in front of Arin.
BAM!
The Water Pillar connected with Vake’s rapier from below, sending his hand flying upwards.
Without wasting time, Arin moved to Vake’s left side, and swung his sword.
He was currently using the sword he bought in the Academy with his points.
WHOOSH!
The sword moved towards Vake with force, but Vake wasn’t planning on backing down.
His hand that was holding the rapier was still up, but quickly, he repositioned the rapier in his hand, now holding it like a dagger.
He brought the rapier down swiftly towards Arin’s sword, and then…
CLANG!
He was able to deflect Arin’s sword and he leaped back again.
Without saying anything, he took action.
He raised his hand, and numerous Earth Spikes and Earth Boulders formed above him.
“Descend…” He muttered.
WHOOSH!
The Earth Element attacks rushed towards Arin.
Arin, seeing this, didn’t have the slightest hint of panic in his eyes.
He suddenly crouched.
He squinted his eyes as his focus increased.
He began gathering Blood Energy in his feet, making it circulate.
One second… Two seconds… Three seconds.
He watched… Patiently.
The attacks were descending from above with speed and would soon hit him.
But he still stood, crouched in that same spot.
He bid his time… Gathering Blood Energy.
And finally…
“Now…”
The attacks finally reached the ground, and then…
BOOM!
The ground where Arin was standing was overwhelmed with the attacks as they hit the ground, causing debris to fly around.
A dust cloud instantly formed as the ground was destroyed by the Spikes and boulders.
Vake stood, his grin never disappearing as he watched the album attacks hit the ground.
But in that same moment…
WHOOSH!
He suddenly felt a gust of wind, and the next thing he saw was a pair of eyes staring directly into his eyes.
“W… What…?”
Instinctively, he raised his rapier, and then…
CLANG!
Sparks flew as both blades connected.
Arin pressed further, increasing the force behind his sword.
Vake gritted his teeth. The force of Arin’s sword was tremendous, but no… He wouldn’t back down.
“AGHHHH!”
Instantly, rock began forming on his left and right arm.
As it formed, his strength began increasing, and he was slowly adapting to Arin’s force.
Though, rock also formed on his right knee, and in that instant…
BAM!
He delivered a knee to Arin’s stomach.
Arin was instantly pushed backwards, and Vake didn’t waste that opportunity.
He lunged at Arin, his rapier ready.
In a swift motion, he thrust his rapier, heading straight for Arin’s head.
Arin, sensing the incoming rapier, instantly acted.
He jerked his head backwards, also bending his back backwards.
His eyes watched the rapier whizz past his face by a few inches.
Because of the force at which Vake thrust the rapier, he was now vulnerable.
With his back still bent backwards, Arin placed his hands on the ground and quickly raised his legs with force.
BAM!
His legs connected with Vake’s chin as he back flipped and landed swiftly on the ground.
Now, they were both standing, staring at each other.
The tension was palpable, increasing with each passing second.
None of them moved.
None of them spoke.
But Vake gripped his rapier… He was ready for anything.
But well, he also couldn’t remain silent for long.
“You’re fast…” He said with a small smile on his face. “I’ll make sure to also tell the King that when I bring you back to him.”
Vake continued,
“I’ll tell him about your abnormal strength and speed, and also about your personality.”
Vake just kept blabbing about all the things he would tell the King to the point that Arin began questioning himself why he was even listening to him.
But then, Vake’s eyes sharpened. “But, my main priority is to bring you back, and after our exchange, I know I’ll have to use one of my Strongest Spells.”
Arin instantly furrowed his brows.
Vake raised his hand, and then…
“When I speak… You obey…”
“When I scream, you shiver…”
Arin’s eyes widened slightly. “A Chant?”
“When I whisper, you tremble…”
“And when I laugh, you prevail…”
Vake’s eyes suddenly began glowing brown as a brown Energy enveloped him.
He grinned, and then…
“First Circle Spell: Earth Domain.”
Instantly…
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Four resounding booming sounds were heard at once, and as Arin looked around him, he saw it…
Four walls had appeared. One each at the left, right, back and front.
It was like a domain… A domain that had him and Vake trapped.
Though him and Vake were trapped inside this domain, there was one difference.
Vake was the leader of the domain.
Vake grinned. “Welcome to my domain, Arin Vale!”
Arin crouched again. He gripped his sword tightly, his eyes sharp and focused.
His mind was already active.
‘If this is his domain, then that means he can control everything within these walls. I’m really the only one trapped here.’
Arin’s eyes glanced around. ‘If I were to guess, then there’s only two ways to bring down this domain.’
‘Firstly, if his Mana gets depleted, then the domain will be brought down, and secondly…’
Arin smirked beneath his mask as he stared at Vake.
“Hey, I have a question for you!”
Vake furrowed his brows.
Arin continued,
“You mentioned all the things you’ll tell the King once you bring me to him. But let me ask you…”
“Can a dead man speak…?”
