- Chapter 110 - Chapter 110 She didn't dodge them
Chapter 110: She didn’t dodge them Chapter 110: She didn’t dodge them Alice looked around.
Ah, she could understand it now.
They might’ve been scared that this was the end of their lives, with no hope of defeating that dragon and making it out alive, but then she saved them.
Wait, could they see her from way over there?
She was sure there was quite a distance from where the eclipse dragon landed and where they were.
“Miss Alice,” Devon called, and the moment she turned, he had enveloped her in his arms, giving her a tight hug.
He did not simply hug her but actually lifted her and twirled her around.
“Whoa, what’s this?” She asked as he put her down, hugging her once more.
“You did it again.” He said, and she warmed up to the hug.
How had she never noticed how nice a hug felt?
It was so warm and satisfying.
But it was too short as he had to break the hug and pat her head.
“Thank you.” “Oh well, it was no big deal.” She said, looking away and rubbing the back of her neck.
Why was she suddenly feeling awkward?
“Haha, only Miss Alice could say something like that,” Devon added with a little laugh, showing his charms of a blonde with blue eyes, a handsome face, and a charming smile.
“But I’m serious, I…” Her senses caught on to something and she pushed him away.
The force pushed him back, as well as everyone behind him, and then leaped back, giving way to the fierce crimson griffin to fly past.
It wanted to catch them with its beaks but she foiled its plan.
*Cawwww!* It let out a loud and deafening bird cry.
“Bastard!” She growled as her eyes followed its movement.
“Alice, are you okay?” Mark asked, approaching her and she nodded.
“Yeah, but hold on a sec.” She could see demon blood in the griffin.
Was it the boss?
It was fast enough to attack without her noticing ahead of time so it was definitely different from the rest of the crimson griffins.
Then, was this the only one strengthened?
“What are you planning to do?” Devon asked, stepping back to his former position.
“Just watch,” she leaped into the air, going after the fast griffin.
It thought it could evade her with its speed and even started shooting out its steel feathers that could be considered spears.
She didn’t dodge them.
Rather, she took out her hammer and crushed them.

If she had dodged, the people below would’ve been in trouble.
“Hey, Devon, Mark,” she called, stopping in front of them, “Could you get these people out of here?
I think they’ve contributed quite enough.
I don’t need any burden while I take care of the rest.” “I understand.” Devon said and turned to start right away.
‘Look at him, so reliable.’ she thought, smiling as she watched him coordinate the rest.
“Alice,” Mark called, and she flew down a little bit, but her legs did not touch the ground yet.
He wanted to say he was impressed that she could fly now, though it was that much different from the past where she leaped across the sky and could even maintain her position floating in the sky.
“What is it, Mark?” She asked, looking at him with her pure and carefree expression.
Ah, he was at his wit’s end.
He lowered his head and sighed.
“I know you can handle yourself.” He said.
“And though I hate to admit it, I’ll only drag you down.
So, I’ll stand at the side.
But…” He raised his head and smiled at her, reaching his hand to brush the side of her hair behind her ear.
Not that it mattered.
It would fall off while she battled with the wind while going after the boss, Griffin.
But something ignited in her.
Her heart thumped, seeing him smile while making this little unimportant gesture.
Her face slightly flushed.
“I’ll cheer for you…
at the side with everyone else.
So, hurry up and get back.” Alice blinked her eyes; oddly, she could feel something crawling from the depths of her heart.
What was it?
It felt…
Overwhelming.
“Haha, you got it.” She said and started going further into the air, out of his reach and only his eyes could reach her.
“I’ll hurry this up so we can get out of here.” She displayed her teeth and then in an instant, dashed away.
Mark watched the empty spot she had been in and then looked at his hand, clenching it slowly and placing it on his chest.
‘This is wrong.’ He thought.
‘This is so wrong, but…’ he glanced up, seeing the afterimage of a radiant Alice.
‘I don’t think I can fight it.
I don’t want to fight it.
I want to embrace it.
Embrace her.
Hah!’ Alice’s face flushed and she called out to Leo quite loudly, “Leo, what is this?!!!” She asked.
*Hm, good question.
I should be asking you this, oh owner of this fine body I am attached to.* He said in the most sarcastic tone he could ever muster.
‘Stop messing around.
I’m serious.’ she thought and then took out the few griffins that were roaming and planning to spread throughout the town.
‘I felt my heart thumping like there was something wrong with me.
Is my power too overwhelming?
Is that why I’ve been feeling like this lately?
And it’s not just once.
It happened when Devon was talking to me too.’ She sliced the heads of the Griffins like she was playing around while having a ‘serious’ conversation with Leo.
‘It’s becoming so frequent now that I’m getting worried.’ If Leo could roll his eyes, he would.
*Alice, you don’t have to worry.
There’s nothing wrong with you.
You’re just going through puberty.* “Fuck, why are you messing with me when I’m trying to be serious?” She yelled at him, threw her fist in annoyance at the griffin in front of her, and punched a hole through its head.
“Just tell me, Leo.
I don’t understand.” *…* Leo went silent.
How to explain to a teenage girl who had never felt feelings in this life that she was having a crush?
Hmm, but that would be quite complicated since it was like that for not just one guy.
It was like that for Mark and Devon.
Then, she liked them both, right?
It made him recall a part of her memory he looked into.
Among the guys Alice had been fond of in her past life, there was Devon, and there was Mark.
And there were two others but that’s not important now since they weren’t in her life.
Anyway, he wondered if the feelings she was feeling were coming afresh or if it was being rekindled by her past feelings with them.
It was tricky.
If it had been from her past, then maybe she would’ve liked them as soon as they met, but that was not the case.
Then, was she catching feelings anew?
*Alice, you’re just feeling overwhelmed.* Leo said.
*The night is lovely, the air is cool and you’re a teenage girl.* Alice gave this disgruntled expression like he was talking like a crazy person all of a sudden.
What night was lovely?
There were monsters destroying things.
What air was cool?
It was all tainted by the smell of blood and monsters.
He was definitely going crazy.
And why did he bring up the fact that she was a teenager?
*I know what you’re thinking.
But just focus on the monsters and then I’ll try to explain it to you later.* CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Sigh, a teenager who doesn’t understand her own feelings.
