- Chapter 123 - Chapter 123 Maybe melted organs and a split head
Chapter 123: Maybe melted organs and a split head Chapter 123: Maybe melted organs and a split head Alice coughed and coughed and then looked up to find three people staring at her like they had seen a ghost.
There was Mark, Devon, and Miss Stella.
“What?
Is there a party that I didn’t know of?” She asked, rubbing her throat and they crowded her.
But Miss Stella beat all of them to it and hugged Alice, pressing her head to her bloated yet soft chest.
“Oh, thank goodness.
I was so worried.” She said.
“It’s a miracle, honestly.” “Alice, are you okay?” Both guys ended up asking simultaneously and it got the other irritated.
They exchanged fierce glances before turning to worry about Alice.
“Yes, I’m fine.
What’s going on?” She asked.
“I thought Miss Stella was only going to be here by Saturday to give me my uniform.” She said.
“And why are you two looking at me like that, I’m not dead, so cut it out.” “You can’t blame them,” Miss Stella said.
“Especially given how much blood you threw up.” “Wait, I threw up blood?” She asked, forgetting that she had heard quite a lot from Leo and threw up blood, as well as bleeding from her eyes, nose, and ears.
Her head also felt like it was being ripped so there was a need for concern if she was seen in that state.
“Oh!” She exclaimed, finally recalling all that happened.
“Ah, if I say I’m completely fine and that was nothing, you’re not going to believe me, are you?” They all shook their heads and she sighed.
She felt fine.
Self-healing must’ve kicked in while she was unconscious, and these guys seemed to have been taking care of her all the while.
Wait…
Her eyes widened.
“How long have I been unconscious?” She asked.
The last time she fell unconscious, though it was thanks to the monster meat she ate, she stayed asleep for an entire month.
So this time, she was worried she slept for long.
She had an appointment with Micheal on Saturday night and had to have dinner with the association chairman on Sunday evening.
She couldn’t miss those.
“Don’t worry, you were unconscious for a short time.
Almost 24 hours.” Miss Stella explained.
“You were found unconscious yesterday.
Around midnight.

That is a few hours after now.” She said, and Alice sighed in relief.
She didn’t miss anything.
“Anyway, as soon as Mark found you like this, he called me right away.
I don’t usually treat awakeneds just because they coughed up blood and fell unconscious.
Cause, what are potions for, right?
But the tone of his voice was…” “Ahem!” Mark cleared his throat and coughed, intentionally interrupting her and she laughed softly.
Alice looked at him, wondering if he had a sea urchin stuck in his throat.
What was with that cough?
“Anyway, it was pretty serious and it was so late too.
And given you had done a lot during the gate break, I decided to come take a look at you.” Alice sighed.
She wondered what Miss Stella found.
Maybe melted organs and a split head, because it sure felt like that was what happened before she passed out.
She folded her legs in a lotus position, dropped her elbow on one knee, and rested her chin on it lazily.
“But it was strange how I didn’t find anything wrong with you.” Miss Stella said, and Alice’s face fell from her palm.
She didn’t find anything?
Was her self-healing that fast?
Or were they just the ones who arrived late?
“It was so odd that I needed to conduct countless tests but I couldn’t find anything.
You were as healthy as one could be.” She said, tilted her head, and said, “Perhaps too healthy.
Do you know anything about it?” Alice blinked, surprised.
If she didn’t find anything, what was she going to say that they would believe her?
She glanced at Mark, who was still worriedly looking at her, and then at Devon.
A sudden memory from her dream flashed through her head, Devon smiling and saying, “I want you to live,” It made her insides feel quite sensitive but not in a bad way.
It was a little too familiar to ignore.
*Alice,* Leo called.
‘Ah, glad that you could come online at such a time.
Tell me, what happened after I passed out.’ she asked.
*It’s as they said.
Mark found you with blood around,* he said.
They tried to find out what happened, but there was nothing because, in the first place, your backlash is an ‘in the moment’ penalty and not something that would keep you wounded.* ‘Speak in simple terms, will you?’ *In other words, as soon as you passed out, you healed up right away.* He said.
*I wanted to clean up the mess while you were unconscious but for some reason, I couldn’t possess your body.* ‘Why not?’ *I don’t know.
I just couldn’t.* He said.
*Did you happen to have any vision of your past life?* “Hm, I did.” She said, subconsciously saying it out loud.
“Excuse me?” Miss Stella asked.
She had been waiting for Alice to collect her thoughts and talk about what had happened, so her sudden words made her think she was talking to her.
“Oh, sorry.
Wrong passage.” She said, confusing Miss Stella.
Mark and Devon immediately realized she was talking to the voice in her head but what was it about?
What sort of conversation were they having?
Could the voice in her head tell her what had happened to her?
They couldn’t ask but only watched her as she conversed silently.
*Then it seems your powers are growing.
After that fight with the crimson griffin boss and the eclipse dragon, your strength seemed to have increased, and so did your stamina, your newly acquired skill, and your perception.
And the more powerful you get, the closer you are to finding out the entire truth.
And the closer you are to that, the sooner I can manifest with a real body.* ‘And how does that have to do with you not being able to possess my body?
I mean, you’re practically living in me.’ *That is, we will be separated.
Me having a real body means I will need a great deal of energy to fully possess your body.* ‘And energy means food.
So, you’ll have to be eating as much as me, won’t it?’ *I believe so.
But for now, I can’t possess your body.
It means my manifestation is near.* Alice nodded, fully understanding what they had at hand.
But…
What was she going to tell them about the blood she threw up, as well as the bleeding from her eyes and her ears?
