- Chapter 128 - Chapter 128 Ah, speaking of pink
Chapter 128: Ah, speaking of pink Chapter 128: Ah, speaking of pink Alice put on the white stockings that covered up her knees and hugged her thighs just enough so they wouldn’t roll down, and then walked down, flagging her hands, “So, can I go now?” She asked but Miss Stella was not done yet.
She scanned every seam and every inch of the dress to make sure it was a perfect fit.
Not too tight and not too loose either.
“Ah, you’ll be on the cover of the school’s magazine, I assure you.” She said, and Alice furrowed her eyebrows.
“What’s that?” “Oh, you may not know, but the prettiest students get used as the cover of the school magazines that get published every session.
This time, you’re joining mid-session, and of course, you’re doing it just to get your diploma, and your grades won’t matter, but I hope you enjoy your experience at school.
You can make friends, make the cover of the magazines, and participate in events.” “It’s not like I’m trying to be a model but okay,” she mumbled while rolling her eyes away.
“Anyway, do awakeneds get to participate in these events?” She asked, taking a seat and crossing her legs.
“I mean, the whole reason for them to have a separate floor was so they wouldn’t cause trouble by interacting with normal kids, right?” “Well, that’s true but during these events, there are supervisions.
So, we can keep an eye on everything.” She answered and Alice nodded.
“Right, so no supervision means trouble.
Got it.” She shifted her gaze to Mark who had been staring at her all along.
“Come now, don’t be shy.
Don’t hold back on the compliments and just spit it out instead of staring.
Your tablet’s going to blow up with those endless notifications if you don’t answer them soon.
So…” Mark brushed his hair, shoving his fingers through and smiling awkwardly.
He didn’t mean to stare but she looked so different.
Her vibes had changed but she still looked like the rascal who would do anything for food.
“Glad your uniform isn’t pink.” He said, which was unexpected, but Alice played along, faking a gasp.
“I know, right?
It’s not like we’re in a Barbie world where everything has to be pink.” She said, pursed her lips, and added, “Literally everything.” This was her protesting for the pink that stood bright in her room.
When was he going to call a painter to get rid of that?
“Ah, speaking of pink,” Miss Stella said and Alice shut her eyes, turning her head away in dismay.
“Please don’t tell me you brought me a pink dress.” She mumbled like a prayer.
“I got you a ton of dresses.” Miss Stella announced, taking out the rest of the bags her assistant had brought a few minutes ago, before Alice walked down.
“And don’t worry, there are no pink dresses.” “Thank God,” she sighed in relief.
At least now that room would have something aside from pink.
But then, she was dismayed when Miss Alice asked her to go try them on.
All of them.
“I picked them out based on your measurements.

And though I don’t know your favorite fashion sense, I made sure to pick up everything trendy, from girly and tomboy.
Here.
Go try them on.” She said, and Alice fell backward, her head hitting the chair’s head.
“Why don’t you just kill me already.” She mumbled and then an idea hit her.
“Ah, last I remember, I was a patient.” She said, sitting up again.
“Don’t you think you’re overworking me?
I mean, I’m still recovering, you see?” Miss Stella smiled, her eyes closed and her glasses glimmered at the edge.
“Don’t worry, I’m a healer.
If anything goes wrong, I’ll put you back in shape.” She said, tilted her head, and shoved the bags to her.
“Now, go change.” Alice took them, disgruntled.
She was the world’s strongest person, yet she could not say no to a human who was inferior to her.
What use were her powers then?
Just to fight monsters?
No, she could not be pushed around like this.
She was going to stand tall with her head high.
No one was going to mess with her.
She was going to stand on her toes.
She turned to Miss Stella, ready to say, ‘No, I’m not going to try them on.’ But the moment she saw Miss Stella’s smile, it felt like a threat, and the fire raging behind her.
Also, her hair looked like it had snakes hissing; was it just her imagination?
She didn’t want to confirm and quickly gave up that idea of standing on her toes right away, smiled obediently, and said, “Just give me a moment, I’ll be right back.” But Alice did not go down after that.
She was way too exhausted to be trying out dresses, so after putting on the first shirt, she dropped on her bed and was lost to sleep from there.
She didn’t even know how.
But at least she could consider herself lucky that Miss Stella did not come to her room with her viper-like hair and strangle her out of bed.
Instead of that, Miss Stella pulled up the blanket to cover her, put the dresses away in her wardrobe, and patted her head while smiling warmly at her.
Miss Stella had walked into the room, wondering what was taking so long, if she had gotten lost in one of the dresses or had been tied up by them, but neither of that.
She simply found Alice on her bed, snoring softly with her legs out of the bed, one leg of sneakers on and another on the floor, the shirt was the only thing properly worn.
She looked so rowdy on the bed.
Miss Stella didn’t even know there was such a thing as being rowdy in bed.
She chuckled and let out a soft sigh.
“I’ll make you wear the dresses when next I come over.” She said, and Alice snuggled on her pillow.
She had worked really hard.
Once again, the world was safe thanks to her.
For someone her age to do all this, carrying so much power and prioritizing the world and safety of others over hers…
She was truly proud.
She had heard from Devon how Alice gave up her precious Elixirs and healing potions to the members of his guild, those who had been injured greatly by the attack, and she did not even ask for anything in return.
She was selfless.
She was a good kid.
Ah, it made her understand why Mark was warming up to her.
She walked out of the room and closed the door.
She raised her head to see Mark who was just coming up the stairs.
“Is she asleep?” Mark asked and Miss Stella laughed.
“It seems you knew this would happen.” She said and he nodded.
“She values her sleep just as much as she values her meals.
And once she’s exhausted, she could sleep anywhere and anytime, no matter what’s going on.” He explained.
“Anyway, I’ll be going now.
I’ll come back first thing Monday morning.
I’m going to drive her to school myself.” “You?” Mark asked, surprised.
“What?
Did you think I could leave this chance to you?
Ha!
Not a chance.” She walked down the stairs, waving her hands and Mark sighed.
She was still childish, he could see.
