Chapter 129: Do such things even exist?
Chapter 129: Do such things even exist?
Alice stretched on her bed, rays of the afternoon sun slipping past the blinds and falling on her face.
“Ugh, the afternoon sun is always so harsh.” She mumbled, trying to cover her face with the blanket.
And then she realized, Her eyes widened and she pushed the blanket aside, sitting up right away.
“What day is it?” She asked, alarmed.
*Calm down.
It’s Saturday.
2 pm.* Leo said and she sighed in relief, pressing her hand on her chest.
She was scared that her sleeping habits would make her miss an important schedule.
She needed to get more information on the demon blood that was circulating and bust up their joint before another day went by.
Like a wise man once said, take care of the problem today while it’s still fresh so that you won’t have to face it when it gets bigger tomorrow.
*Hey, I said that.* “Oh yeah?” She got up, scratching her belly as she walked towards the bathroom.
“I don’t remember.
Tell me, what episode did you say it?
None, right?” She laughed mockingly, and Leo sighed.
She was so childish.
She opened the door, walked in, and picked up her toothbrush.
She looked at her face in the mirror.
Her hair was only slightly scattered.
For someone who looked so rowdy in bed, she never had messy bed hair, like it should be.
Maybe it was because she often slept like the dead, staying in one place till she felt her bladder would burst.
Only then would she move.
“I think I need to minimize the time I use for sleeping.” She said, spitting out the paste from her mouth and Leo, if he could, looked at her with slanted eyes and asked, *Oh, now you think.* He said, sarcastically.
*I was waiting for the moment where you would end up missing an important schedule, ahem, a dinner invitation, ahem,* She still understood what he meant, even if he tried hiding his words with his fake words.
“Should I set alarms on my phone?” She asked.
“But what’s the probability it’ll wake me up?” *Zero.
You sleep like the dead.* He said and she narrowed her eyes.
“Thanks but that’s not helping.” She said.
*I’m serious.

You don’t even wake up when I try to wake up, so how is an alarm on your phone going to wake you up?* “Oh, don’t you know?” She paused.
*Know what?* “It’s because your voice is like music to my ears, so hearing it makes me want to sleep more instead of waking up.” She said and he realized she was just messing with him.
*Are you kidding me?* He flared at her and she laughed.
“Now, we’re even.” She said and rinsed her mouth, washed her face, and then started taking off her clothes.
“But maybe I should buy an alarm clock instead.” She said.
She put on the shower, checked the temperature, and then picked up the shampoo, pressed it on her head, and said, “I think a mana-powered alarm clock will do.” She scrubbed her hair with her eyes closed.
“You know, those kinds of things that will be incredibly loud to the owner and noiseless to outsiders.” *Do such things even exist?* He asked.
“Ah, this is the 21st century, we’re plagued by monsters, humans have superpowers and carrying swords, and all sorts of weapons like we are in the fucking middle ages and killing dragons.
Everything exists.” She said, matter-of-factly.
“Oh, and I have a freaking constellation, AKA, a god, talking in my head.
Do you think I won’t find anything and everything on this forsaken planet?
Even if I have to fly to China, I’ll get it.” She stated and then increased the intensity of the shower, rinsing off the shampoo in her hair.
*I guess when there are these bizarre things, finding a little alarm clock with those descriptions like that is possible.* He said and she nodded.
She turned off and reached for her soap.
“Anyway, I’ll ask Mark about it as soon as I get down.” When she was done, she found a bunch of foreign clothes in her wardrobe and tilted her head, finally recalling what had happened the previous night.
Could she say she was lucky to be alive even after doing something like that?
She shuddered, feeling goosebumps rise on her body.
She definitely didn’t want to get on that teacher’s bad side.
Maybe that was why she was able to handle awakened kids, who must be rebellious, so well.
She was a master at it.
She picked out one of the new sets, finally saying goodbye to the forsaken pink color.
She got dressed, parked her hair up, and wore a nose mask, knowing her face was probably circulating everywhere by now, but pushed it under her chin in the meantime.
It was still afternoon so she would look around a bit before she called Micheal to meet up.
She went down and discovered Mark was not in the house.
“Hm, he’s probably out for work.” She thought out loud and went to the kitchen.
There was a note on the kitchen cabinet.
‘Had to leave early.
When you wake up, feel free to go or to eat, but be careful.
Everyone’s watching you.’ he wrote down and she saw his credit card on the cabinet.
“Wow, he’s so generous.
But does he realize I might empty his card?” She exclaimed and then noticed there was a ‘PS’ at the back of the note.
‘I know you have a heavy appetite so feel free to empty the card.
I have five more where that came from.’ Alice’s eyes glimmered with money.
Mark was truly so generous and the best.
With this, she wouldn’t need to hold back.
“Let’s go spend and eat till our heart’s content.
The power of money is in my hands.” She giggled.
She had never really gone out to eat whatever she wanted before.
So, she was going to make it worthwhile and try every single dish.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Yes, that’s out foodie for you If we run out of ingredients to cook, let’s all blame Alice, lol She’s stripping the world bare of its food
