- Chapter 136 - Chapter 136 Bid for it
Chapter 136: Bid for it Chapter 136: Bid for it Alice picked up her bidding pan and took a look at it.
It had a number on it, number 4, but she honestly didn’t know how it worked.
It wasn’t like she was going to use it to bid but she would hold on to it and not look suspicious.
She looked up.
The first item had been brought forth, and everyone interested in it had started bidding, raising the pans, and calling out numbers that she couldn’t believe were possible to be casually called.
And it was none other than an S-class helmet.
Just what did these wealthy punks need a simple helmet for?
Well, it wasn’t that simple and she wouldn’t know because she hadn’t been paying attention.
“17 million, going once, going, twice,” the falcon masked ‘MC’ took one good look around and then raised his hand in a straight line, yelling, “Sold.
Congratulations, number 32, you have successfully won the bid for the temperal helmet.” People clapped and this ‘number 32’ raised his head in pride.
Alice couldn’t help but shake her head and glance towards the stage.
When was the demon blood going to show up?
Another item came in.
A sword, which was won over with the sum of 16 million.
And then another, an elixir, won for a billion.
At that point, Alice actually realized how precious her elixir was.
Just one tiny bottle like that was over a billion dollars.
Guess Leo wasn’t exaggerating when he said she was more than generous already for the things she had done.
‘So, was that why Devon was so against taking them for free?
He knew just how expensive they were.’ *This is the devil’s shrine price.* Leo said.
*Black markets tend to be way more expensive than the real market, and especially since it’s an auction where there are so many competitors.
The price just keeps going up.* He explained and she nodded, understanding completely.
*But the real price should not be too far from a billion.* ‘In one word, it’s hella expensive.’ she thought and he nodded.
‘Hm, I guess I have to value the ones I have.
I won’t be able to find them anywhere in case of an emergency.’ *That’s why they don’t want you to use them so carelessly.* Leo said.
*It’s almost impossible to get an elixir of low quality without spending a fortune and even then, you still might not find one.
Not to talk of yours that’s of the highest quality.* ‘I got it.
No more sharing elixirs as presents unless it’s an absolute emergency.’ she said and peered towards the stage.
‘Now, when are they going to whip out the demon blood.’ *Alice, what do you plan to do as soon as they bring out the demon blood?* Leo asked her.
‘Well,’ she took a moment to think with her eyes closed and then shrugged.

‘Funny, I haven’t thought of that yet.’ He palmed his face.
‘I was just thinking of busting them up but that won’t do.
The perpetrator will end up escaping.’ she rested her back and crossed her legs.
‘Besides, I didn’t expect them to have a field that suppresses awakeneds.’ *Then bid.* Leo said.
‘Huh?’ *Bid for it.
When you win, they’ll take you to the back and just before you pay, you’ll ask to meet the supplier in person.
And then, you can start busting asses.* He explained and though Alice understood his plan, she felt he was forgetting one little, tiny detail.
‘I fail to see the part where you tell me how exactly I’m gonna win a bid when I have no money.’ Her right eye twitched.
*Oh, for crying out loud, you won’t pay.
You’ll just bust them up before it gets to that part.
Negotiate with them and say you will only pay after you see the supplier.
It’s that simple.* He said and she closed her eyes, processing his words.
*Alice,* ‘Hold on, I’m trying to think.’ *Alice,* he called once more and she forced her eyes open.
‘What is it?
I said I’m trying to-‘ she paused as a familiar ominous stench evaded her nose.
*It’s here.* Leo said and she nodded.
‘Yeah, I sensed it too.’ Her perception, as well as every other sense, must’ve been lowered thanks to the field, but she could still feel it.
She was just reduced to the level of an S-class awakened, nothing less.
So, she could sense things, just as the other S-class could.
But it was still slower than her regular senses, so she did not realize it was there until they dropped it at the stage and opened the box.
“I guess many of us are here for this particular product.” The MC said, pushing his mic to his lips.
“It’s the most precious item on the market.
A potion that increases a person’s stats tenfold.
Are you a C-class awakened and you’re tired of always being looked down on?
B-class?
A-class?
You’re always being looked down on by those S-class awakened because they’re all so mighty?
Heh heh,” he scoffed.
“Well, bow your head no more.” He pointed at the box.
“In this box, there are over a thousand bottles of this miracle potion that can increase any awakeneds stats by ten folds.
And only one lucky person will get it all.” They started murmuring, amazed, and intrigued by this new product while Alice was fuming with anger and confusion.
Alice’s eyes widened, her fingers digging into the wooden handle of the chair she was sitting on.
There were a thousand bottles?
A thousand bottles of demon blood?
Just what in the world…
Was this the side plot that Leo wanted her to stop?
If this much demon blood circulates the country or the world…
People would go mad with power.
They would…
Start destroying the world.
‘Leo, could you tell me a little more details surrounding this side plot?’ she asked, releasing her fingers from the poor chair.
