Chapter 142: Alice, any harder than that and you’ll break my bones Chapter 142: Alice, any harder than that and you’ll break my bones (WARNING: Not PG13 friendly.
Although nothing really happened, ahem.
Just know our foodie MC is going to be exposed to a lot of…
Sensitive stuff that she wished she could wash her eyes) Alice was a bit uncomfortable and as Micheal led her to the red light district, she could see a lot of ‘fascinating’ things.
There were ladies who, instead of wearing masks, contoured their faces so heavily that it changed their appearance.
But they still looked good to the point that men would lust after them.
Seriously, why did they have to come here?
“Mi-Micheal, I…
I don’t think this is a good idea.” Alice said, but they were already at the building where he wanted to take her.
He led her inside, and her eyes widened, seeing all sorts of ‘wonders’.
Yes, she had visited a lot of public houses and prostitute houses for a job before, but she had never seen anything like this.
They were always so discreet and subtle but this…
They were loud, bright, and hella messy.
She could even see them having sex in the parlor, and all that covered them up was a curtain.
Just after you walk into a place like this, the first thing you hear is the moaning sounds of different pitches and drunks who can’t stop laughing and cheering at the sexy lady sitting at their table.
And then there were the loud moans coming from the rooms upstairs.
Alice’s eyes twirled.
Just what in the world…
Where did Micheal bring her to?
“Mi-Micheal, I think I’ve been tainted.” She said, and he looked back at her to find her clutching his hand tightly.
She looked vulnerable and uncomfortable.
Well, this was not exactly a place where kids could walk into but she boldly stated she knew what sex was, so he thought she was familiar with the ‘adult world’.
“Don’t worry, I’ll just get a room and we’ll shut the door.” He said with a little smirk on his lips, and she gripped harder.
“No one will see us.” ‘Why does it make it sound like we’re going to do anything?’ She clutched harder, shutting her eyes and presses her lips together tightly till they formed a thin line, not like anyone could see it though.
‘And why the hell is my nose still bleeding?’ It had soaked the inside of her mask already.
Dammit.
“Alice, any harder than that and you’ll break my bones.” Micheal suddenly said, causing her to snap.
“Ah, sorry.” She reflexively took her hand off and raised them, but in the process, her hands hit the face of a man who was just walking by behind her, minding his own business.
She turned around to find him fuming and the place her hands had hit had left a serious bruise.
Just what was she out of control all of a sudden?

“You little twerp,” he brushed his cheek with his thumb and hissed.
“What do you think you were doing?” Alice tilted her head.
“What do ‘you’ think you were doing standing behind my back?” She asked in return.
This was one of the times where a simple apology may fix the issue but Alice’s old ways seemed to have kicked in after the man called her a little twerp.
‘This sure brings back memories.’ she thought.
*Alice, it was your fault this time.
Just apologize and it’ll be over.* Leo said to her but she folded her arms.
‘Ah, Leo, you’re so naive.’ she said.
‘In this world, you may think a simple apology would fix everything but look at this guy.
I’ve met his kind before.
Once you apologize, they spit in your face and ask you to show your sincerity.’ she stood her ground.
‘Not only will your pride be hurt but you’ll start acting like a monkey to please them.
It doesn’t end there.’ *How sure are you that that’s going to happen?* Leo asked and her eyes blazed.
‘I’m more than sure ’cause I’ve fucking experienced it every damn time.’ she ranted.
‘The best way to keep your stand is to act tough.
You might get beaten or get the other party beaten.
Either way, you do all with your head up.’ *And since when did you care about pride, Alice?* ‘Hah, it seems there’s still a lot of things you need to know about me, Leo.’ she unfolded her arms, interlocked her fingers, and cracked them in his face, daring him.
‘When it comes to dirty scumbags, I’m an entirely different person.’ *…* “Are you looking for a fight, you twerp?” The man roared at her but Micheal suddenly got in front of her and snapped his fingers with a single word, “Sleep.” The man’s eyes rolled back his eyelids shut in sleep, and his body crashed on the floor.
“Dear me, this fella must’ve had a lot to drink.
He’s passed out cold.” He said in an audible tone so he could have witnesses of what happened and not a fabricated story made up if trouble were to arise later.
He turned to Alice, grabbed her hand, and said, “I guess you’ll just have to end up breaking my bones, Alice.
I just can’t let go of your hand, not even a second.” He said and led her to the register where he would buy a room.
Alice looked back at the man on the floor.
Micheal made him sleep at the snap of his fingers.
Were magicians always that capable?
Well, she knew nothing about them in the first place.
Micheal picked up the keys and led Alice up the stairs.
The moaning was annoying, and it made them even more uncomfortable.
She just had to ignore it but…
Suddenly, all the sounds disappeared and Micheal asked, his voice sounding clearly in her head, almost like it was Leo talking.
Wait, was he even moving his lips?
Maybe it was telepathy but whatever it was, as long as it kept the moaning out of her hearing, she was damn okay with it.
He looked down at her, who was a step behind.
“Does this make it better?” He asked and she shut her eyes, wondering why he didn’t just do that from the start.
“Very.” She said.
“Thank you.” “For what?
Blocking the irritating sounds of men and women interlocking their bodies in sexual intercourse while making excruciatingly disgusting and annoying sounds, or saving you from that guy down there?” He stopped walking, turned to her, and asked, “Which is it?” “The first.” She said.
“As for the latter, I could’ve handled it just fine.” She added, but he shook his head, as if pitying her.
“You fail to understand one thing, Alice.” He said and started walking again.
“If you find trouble in Devil’s shrine, trouble will equally find you, as well as those around you.
So, everyone tries to have fun, live their best lives, and then go out, back to their daily lives until they come back here.” They arrived at the top of the stairs and he walked through the corridor while continuing his words, “The only people who have the guts to find trouble and not worry about trouble finding them back are those with power, connections, and strong backers.” He said and finally stopped in front of a room door.
“And, of course, the brainless idiots who don’t value their lives, haha.” He sounded amused as he said that and Alice wondered what category she belonged to.
She definitely had power, right?
So she could fit in the category of power.
But she thought wrong.
Micheal opened the door with the key, pulling her in and then shutting it.
“And you, my dear,” he pushed her to the door and dropped his hand on it, pinning her to that position, “…are in neither of those categories as of now.
So,” he leaned his masked face closer to hers and asked, “Shall we just get to business?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Ahem, what business, please?
She is innocent
