- Chapter 159 - Chapter 159 Okay, Leo
Chapter 159: Okay, Leo.
what’s the plan?
Chapter 159: Okay, Leo.
what’s the plan?
“And why are you so sure of what you’re saying?” Mark asked, turning around to face Devon.
“Because…” Devon smiled.
“I have a sharp mind.” “Bullshit.” Mark said and turned to continue leaving.
“You’re just making all that shit up.
The only real thing you’ve said so far is that I care for Alice and want to protect her.
I refuse to accept any other words you’ve just said.
So drop it and let’s just do as she wants.” Devon watched him leave and sighed.
‘How do I know?’ he asked in his mind and felt his heart thumping.
‘It’s because I feel the same way.’ Devon had a younger brother.
And he truly cared for his younger brother.
He would give his life for him, in fact.
But that sort of care…
If he were to compare it with the kind of care he felt for Alice or the type Mark was displaying, then they were two different things.
One had deep-embedded familiar feelings while the other…
Romance.
He looked up to the dark skies, threatening to turn red from the gate’s influence.
Just what had he put himself into?
Why did he have such feelings?
No, how?
How did he have such feelings for a girl who was his brother’s age mate?
He covered his face, feeling ashamed.
He would never speak of these feelings and would let them die.
Yes, that was for the best.
Alice soared through the skies and felt the breeze against her skin.
*So, did you think leaving the three of them there would be a good idea?
What if they suddenly start a fight?* Leo asked, but Alice turned around, still heading to her destination, placing her hands behind her head and crossing her legs.

She was very lax about it.
She looked like she was having the time of her life when heading towards a danger zone.
“Relax, I left Devon with them.
He’s the sensible one.
He won’t let them fight knowing Mark’s not strong enough to win.” She said.
*You have so much faith in him.* “I just know he’s the most reasonable.
He won’t let me down with something like this.” She said and glanced down.
There were still a few people who were struggling to get to safety before the gate brought forth monsters.
It was a ruckus.
And of course, she knew this was mainly her fault, but it wasn’t like she told the demons to gather up monsters, open up a gate, and threaten the lives of civilians.
She was a victim here as well.
“Okay, Leo.
What’s the plan?” She asked him.
*Plan?* “Yeah, plan.
How do we get this over with in a few minutes so I can finally hit the hay?
We’ve been outside for too long, and my bed is missing me.” Leo palmed his face.
Of course, a plan.
*Well, first, we need to find that demon.* He said and she stopped.
“What demon?” Leo immediately realized Micheal did not spell it to her that it was a demon who inflicted her condition on her.
He thought maybe it was because he wasn’t certain, so he did not go that far, but then why would he disclose such information to Devon and Mark?
He could never understand what that guy was thinking.
*When you were out being drowned in emotions you didn’t even think about on a normal day, Michael talked about a demon who used its powers to trap the most powerful person, drowning them in deep emotions of regrets and dissatisfaction that they would be too down to fight.* He explained.
*And that demon…
If my guess is right, should be Lilith.* “Lilith?
Who’s that?” *A demon.
According to legends, Lilith is a demon who plays with the kinds of humans.
She can trap them in server emotions lingering in their heart.
Even regrets that they were never conscious of.
She traps them, and oftentimes, they’re never able to wake up.
So, they die in their minds, even though their body is healthy and awake.* “And you’re saying this Lilith almost got me?” She asked, speculating and he nodded.
*Yes.
We have to find her.* “Are you sure she’s around?
Like…
Shouldn’t she be causing havoc by now?” Alice asked.
*She should, so that’s why I’m worried.
She probably wanted to get you first while she was undiscovered.
So, let’s find her before she actually unleashes any harm.
First, to the gate.* Alice resumed her flight.
She thought back to the heavy emotions that weighed her down.
Funny how she couldn’t recall them but she felt the lingering sentiment in her heart.
They were deep and throbbing.
Regret?
Dissatisfaction?
She didn’t know these things were big enough to weigh her down.
That feeling of regret must come from her past life.
From her past life…
There were way more emotions that could bring her down from there.
She closed her eyes.
If Lilith was able to manipulate a person by taking them unaware of their emotions, then…
It might be a little difficult if she got taken at unaware again.
“Leo, what’s the fastest way to locate a demon?” *Ah, I thought you’d never ask.* Leo said and Alice smiled.
“Well, desperate times call for desperate measures.” She stopped and glanced down at the gate also going out of control.
She gazed down with dangerous eyes.
“I will not call into the gallows of despair a second time.
So, let’s get to work.” But as soon as she said that, something struck her and a sudden vision covered her vision.
Her vision was replaced by the desolate world.
The gate was gone, and all the buildings were gone.
All that was left were rebels that formed piles of waste around her.
“What…
What’s going on now?” She asked, a little panicked.
“Leo?
Where are you?
Leo?” She turned around.
Just what was going on?
She couldn’t hear Leo’s voice.
She couldn’t hear anything and as she stood in the air, the person cowering beneath her trembled but at the same time mocked her with a laugh.
“You will all burn,” the lady in a red revealing dress, oddly what anyone would wear while on the grounds that were filled with rebels and in such a situation too.
“…when he decides to act, you’ll never know what hit you.” “When who decides to act?” Alice found herself asking.
“And who the fuck are you?
Where am I?” The lady kept laughing.
“Stop laughing and tell me who wants to act.” The lady, raised her hand slowly, pointing behind her, and said, “Him.” Alice turned her head but was blinded by a bright light, pushing her out of the vision and towards reality.
She found herself gripping hard on the neck of a lady wearing a red dress with grey skin, and strangely, looked just like the lady who was laughing like a lunatic.
“What…?” Alice let go immediately, allowing the body to fall to the ground.
She started stepping back, confused and her hands were trembling.
“Wha…
What just happened?” *Alice, are you finally back to your senses?* Leo asked, and oh boy, was she glad to hear his voice.
“Oh thank goodness I can hear you again.
What happened?
I was…
I was…” *You were about to tear Lilith into pieces.* Leo said, and Alice’s eyes widened.
“What are you talking about?
I was sure I…” *No, Alice.
Listen to me.
You found Lilith but suddenly went out of control and tried to rip her to pieces.
Are you alright?* Alice was confused.
Beyond confused, her chest banged.
Her breathing got heavy and fast as she stared at the body on the floor.
That…
That was Lilith?
Then…
What was with that vision she just saw?
And how did she even enter this situation in the first place?
